  • This study was performed to evaluate the internal and external factors affecting external strength of the 3-layer polymer composite pipes made of polymer mortar and fiber-glass reinforced plastic. Twenty four sandwich type 3-layer polymer composite pipes were made of polymer mortar and fiber-glass reinforced plastic by centrifugal method. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects the of polymer mortar thickness for and core fiber-glass contents per unit area on external strength of 3-layer polymer composite pipes. For the more economical and practical design of 3-layer polymer composite pipe, further study should be done for the various polymer mortar, fiber-glass and different ratio of the inside/outside FRP thickness.

  • Abstract The optimization is performed to reduce the mass of CNG pressure vessel reinforced with composite materials in the hoop direction. An axisymmetric shell element which takes into account the layered liner and hoop composite materials is thus developed and incorporated into a program Axicom. The accuracy of the program is then verified using the 4 noded element in ANSYS. Three different cases of optimization are then performed using the Axicom: (1) uniform hoop thickness, (2) varying hoop thickness, and (3) varying the ply angles and accordingly the thickness. Compared with a traditional method, cases (2) and (3) were found to be very effective in reducing the thickness and cost of the hoop composite materials by about 80% without sacrificing the safety factors.

  • In this paper, a finite element structural analysis for thin-walled open-section composite beams with elastic couplings has been performed. The analysis includes the effects of transverse shear across beam sections, torsion warping and constrained warping. Reissner's semi-complementary energy functional is used to obtain the beam st illness coefficients The bending and torsion related warpings and the shear correct ion factors are obtained as part of the analysis. The resulting theory describes the beam kinematics in terms of the axial, flap and lag bending, flap and lag shear, torsion and torsion-warping deformations. The static response has been validated against finite element predict ions, closed form solutions, and experimental data for rectangular sol id and I-beams with elastic couplings. The free vibration results are also compared with available literature.

  • There have been numerous accelerated aging laboratory tests for evaluating suitability of polymeric materials and devices. Aging test for materials and its full scale device has been conducted. Service experience plays a key role in the utility section of composite insulators. A meaningful and reliable accelerated aging test is needed for evaluating composite insulator. During the service these insulators are subjected to aging stress such as humidity, pollution, and electrical field, and erosion and tracking of the weathershed occurs. This paper presents the criteria of reliability evaluation and evaluation facilities for 22.9 kV suspension composite insulator. We adopt the criteria of reliability evaluation consist of two test methods. One is CEA tracking wheel test for examining the tracking and erosion performance of composite insulator. The other is multi-stress aging test for examining effects of environmental factors such as UV, temperature, humidity, etc on composite insulator.

사업성 종합지수를 이용한 기술의 사업성 상대등급 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Business Relative Ranking Valuation of Technology using Business Composite Index)

  • The future will see all industries become technology-driven in the competitive global market place. Firms with deep technological roots and innovation strategies have some advantages. Business valuation of technology is critical to the future of firm's business. In this situation widely used scoring valuation is not enough to evaluate relative business competitiveness associated with technology and to assign its relative ranking category. Therefore, a more useful and comprehensive new valuation approach, which is called business composite index, is needed to complement and to enhance the existing scoring valuation approach. In this research, statistical factor analysis is applied to determine the common factors and to estimate associated weights. And business composite index, which is a kind of weighted scoring method, is derived based on the results of factor analysis. This research shows that business composite index is considered very useful to measure the business relative strength of individual technology and also to assign its relative ranking category instead of absolute ranking based on scoring valuation approach.

An equivalent single-layer theory for free vibration analysis of steel-concrete composite beams

  • An equivalent single-layer theory (EST) is put forward for analyzing free vibrations of steel-concrete composite beams (SCCB) based on a higher-order beam theory. In the EST, the effect of partial interaction between sub-beams and the transverse shear deformation are taken into account. After using the interlaminar shear force continuity condition and the shear stress free conditions at the top and bottom surface, the displacement function of the EST does not contain the first derivatives of transverse displacement. Therefore, the C0 interpolation functions are just demanded during its finite element implementation. Finally, the EST is validated by comparing the results of two simply-supported steel-concrete composite beams which are tested in laboratory and calculated by ANSYS software. Then, the influencing factors for free vibrations of SCCB are analyzed, such as, different boundary conditions, depth to span ratio, high-order shear terms, and interfacial shear connector stiffness.

요양병원의 입원급여 적정성 평가 결과에 미치는 영향 요인 분석 (Factors influencing the composite quality score from the quality assessment program for long-term care hospitals)

  • Purposes: This study purposed to identify factors influencing the composite quality score from the quality assessment program for long-term care hospitals Methodology: The study variables was obtained from HIRA(Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service): the composite quality scores and hospital variables such as number of doctors, nurses, beds, medical technicians, medical equipments, administrative region, ownerships from 3rd (2010) to 7th (2018) quality assessment program. National Statistical Portal(www.kosis.go.kr) provided the number of senior citizens aged over 65 in city·county·district area. SAS 9.4 was used for the data processing and used to analyze the data. Findings: The results showed that composite quality score increased past 9 years. Hospital variables such as number of doctor, nurse, medical technicians, bed and public hospitals had significant positive relationship with the composite quality score. Administrative region(district) showed higher scores compare to that of city. Compare to the score of quality assessment year(2010), as the assessment year move to 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, results showed higher significant positive coefficients. Practical Implication: Continuously improve the performance of long-term care hospitals, current quality assessment program are needed to update their system such as adopting indicators measuring the service process, or compensating the cost for quality assessment program. It will enable to provide more reasonable and accurate performance assessment scores.

정량적 인적오류 분석에서 수행도형성인자를 고려하기 위한 방법 (A Method for Considering Performance Shaping Factors in Quantitative Human Error Analysis)

  • Human reliability attempts to make precise quantitative analyses and predictions of the performance of human-machine(or product) systems. In order to yield more precise human error analysis, precise human error probabilities(HEPs) must be used in the analysis. However, because human behavior is influenced by factors that are called performance shaping factors(PSFs), the effects of PSFs must be considered to obtain precise HEPs, These are called basic HEPs or situation-specific HEPs. This paper presents a theoretical method for obtaining basic HEPs (i.e. , considering PSFs) in quantitative human error analysis. In this method, the weight which characterizes the degree of importance of several PSFs is obtained by the analytic hierarchy process. The quality scores of PSFs in the task situation are obtained by percentile concept. These scores are used in conjunction with the relative Importance weights of PSFs to compute the composite quality percentile score of PSFs in the task situation. Then, a new mapping method of the composite quality percentile score of PSFs into a situation-specific basic HEP is proposed with a numerical example.

  • This paper employs differential quadrature method (DQM) and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) for studying free vibrational characteristics of porous functionally graded (FG) nanoplates coupled by visco-elastic foundation. A secant function based refined plate theory is used for mathematical modeling of the nano-size plate. Two scale factors are included in the formulation for describing size influences based on NSGT. The material properties for FG plate are porosity-dependent and defined employing a modified power-law form. Visco-elastic foundation is presented based on three factors including a viscous layer and two elastic layers.The governing equations achieved by Hamilton's principle are solved implementing DQM. The nanoplate vibration is shown to be affected by porosity, temperature rise,scale factors and viscous damping.
