  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how different priorities were among entrepreneurial components influencing upon performance of firm regarding dynamics of textile fashion industry. For research method, 200 questionnaires were distributed to professionals such as entrepreneurs, and managers of textile fashion business. The returned 122 questionnaires were analyzed by regression analysis with SPSS 10.0. The results of this study were as follows: There were significant differences that the most influential component was fund among entrepreneurial components affecting performance of firm, and business idea, and entrepreneur's characteristics in a descending order. But when considering dynamics of textile fashion industry, the most influential component was business idea, and entrepreneur's characteristics, and fund in a descending order.

  • The component reliability database is required in PSA (Probabilistic Safety Analysis) for NPP (Nuclear Power Plant). We have applied a generic database to the PSA for the Korean NPPs, since there is no specific component reliability database. Therefore we are developing the plant-specific component reliability database for domestic NPPs. We also extend the experience and knowledge of PSA and component reliability database for NPP to chemical industry We collect the raw data like component operation history and maintenance history and then input the required data for the component reliability database through failure analysis. With the database, we can not only perform PSA with real data but also perform maintenance optimization.

  • Covid-19 posed a serious threat to public health worldwide, especially in the absence of vaccines or medicines. The only viable strategies to combat a virus with a high infection rate were to apply lock-down strategies, transport ban, social and physical distancing. In this work, we provide a domain-specific component model for crisis management. The model allows for building a plan for managing Covid-19 crisis and use the plan as a template to generate a system specific for managing that crisis. The crisis component model is derived from X-MAN II, a generic component model that we have developed for the aircraft industry

  • Lespedeza cuneata G. Don is a traditional herb that has been associated with multiple biological activities. In this study, we investigated the antioxidative/antiaging activities and performed an active component analysis of the non-fermented and fermented (using Lactobacillus pentosus) extracts of Lespedeza cuneata G. Don. The antioxidative activities of the fermented extract were higher than those of non-fermented extracts. The elastase inhibitory activity, inhibitory effects on UV-induced MMP-1 expression, and ability to promote type I procollagen synthesis were investigated in Hs68 human fibroblasts cells. These tests also revealed that the fermented extract had increased antiaging activities compared with the non-fermented extract. A component analysis of the ethyl acetate fractions of non-fermented and fermented extracts was performed using TLC, HPLC, and LC/ESI-MS/MS to observe changes in the components before and after fermentation. Six components that were different before and after fermentation were investigated. It was thought that kaempferol and quercetin were converted from kaempferol glucosides and quercetin glucosides, respectively, via bioconversion with the fermentation strain. These results indicate that the fermented extract of L. cuneata G. Don has potential for use as a natural cosmetic material with antioxidative and antiaging effects.

  • In this study, estimate of Mechanical Properties depending on Injected direction in Polymer for Automobile Application. The used materials is polyamid(nylon6), polypropylene(PP) of a simple component and its mixed, reinforced glass fiber(15%) in polyamid. One side direction of a simple component is highest strength and the two sides direction of multicomponent appear lowest strength. This is caused by effects of weldline, imperfect fusion and impregnation of multicomponent. To improve mechanical properties, it is necessary to minimize of weldline, compatibility, perfect fusion and impregnation in multicomponent polymer.

  • This paper proposes an efficient method for improving the performance of polynomial adaline using the dimension reduction of independent variables. The adaptive principal component analysis is applied for reducing the dimension by extracting efficiently the features of the given independent variables. It can be solved the problems due to high dimensional input data in the polynomial adaline that the principal component analysis converts input data into set of statistically independent features. The proposed polynomial adaline has been applied to classify the patterns. The simulation results shows that the proposed polynomial adaline has better performances of the classification for test patterns, in comparison with those using the conventional polynomial adaline. Also, it is affected less by the scope of the smoothing factor.

  • This paper presents a hybrid method for recognizing the faces by using zero mean and principal component analysis. Zero mean is applied to reduce the 1st order statistics to data nonlinearities. PCA is also used to derive an orthonormal basis which directly leads to dimensionality reduction, and possibly to feature extraction of face image. The proposed method has been applied to the problems for recognizing the 20 face images(10 persons * 2 scenes) of 324*243 pixels from Yale face database. The 3 distances such as city-block, Euclidean, negative angle are used as measures when match the probe images to the nearest gallery images. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a superior recognition performances(speed, rate). The negative angle has been relatively achieved more an accurate similarity than city-block or Euclidean.

  • The Component-Based Software Development (CBSD) has established itself as a sound paradigm in the software engineering discipline and has gained wide spread acceptance in the industry. The CBSD relies on the availability of standard software components for encapsulation of specific functionality. This paper presents the framework for the development of a software component for the design of general member cross-sections. The proposed component can be used in component-based structural engineering software or as a stand-alone program developed around the component. This paper describes the use-case scenarios for the component, its design patterns, object models, class hierarchy, the integrated and unified handling of cross-section behavior and implementation issue. It is expected that a component developed using the proposed patterns and model can be used in analysis, design and detailing packages to handle reinforced concrete, partially prestressed concrete, steel-concrete composite and steel sections. The component can provide the entire response parameters of the cross section including determination of geometric properties, elastic stresses, flexural capacity, moment-curvature, and ductility ratios. The component can also be used as the main computational engine for stand-alone section design software. The component can be further extended to handle the retrofitting and strengthening of cross-sections, shear and torsional response, determination of fire-damage parameters, etc.

  • This paper describes the development of a 6-component load cell with plate beams which may be used to measure forces Fx, Fy, Fz and moments Mx, My, Mz simultaneously in industry. We have analyzed the bending strains on the surface of the beams under forces or moments by using Finite Element Method and designed the sensing elements of 6-component load cell. We have also determined the attachment location of strain gages of each load cell and fabricated 6-component load cell. To evaluate the rated strain and interference error of each load cell, we have carried out characteristic test of 6-component load cell.

  • Component-based software development (CBD) is a methodology that has been embraced by the software industry to accelerate development, save costs and timelines, minimize testing requirements, and boost quality and output. Compared to the conventional software development approach, this led to the system's development being completed more quickly. By choosing components, identifying systems, and evaluating those systems, CBSE contributes significantly to the software development process. The objective of CBSE is to codify and standardize all disciplines that support CBD-related operations. Analysis of the comparison between component-based and scripting technologies reveals that, in terms of qualitative performance, component-based technologies scale more effectively. Further study and application of CBSE are directly related to the CBD approach's success. This paper explores the introductory concepts and comparative analysis related to component-based software engineering which have been around for a while, but proper adaption of CBSE are still lacking issues are also focused.
