The primary purpose of this study was to develop a college adjustment program for freshmen through admission officer system that relies less on test scores and on the various talents evaluated by admissions officers. To help these talented students adjust the new life of the university and enhance their gifts, a college adjustment program was developed with their special needs and characteristics. For that, the survey with 57 students and in-depth interviews with 12 students were conducted. The results revealed that the students wanted to learn study skills, self-management, global mind setting, and life vision and goals setting. Most of the students were worried about their grades because they entered the school with their talents and experience in diverse activities not SAT scores. To promote their academic performance, this program consisted of an academic readiness program which complements students' abilities in primary subjects like math, English, and science, and a potential progress program which is peer-group learning communities based on their own interests like global learning communities, creative learning communities, and service-learning communities. This program was suggested in the context of Comprehensive Development Model. To carry out the program systematically, related organizations and colleges should collaborate with each other.

Negative Stripping Construction in English involves the disjunction but, the adverb not, and a constituent NP. This construction is an incomplete sentence although it delivers a complete sentential meaning. Interpretation of this construction may be ambiguous in that the constituent NP can either be construed as the subject, or as the complements including the object. To generate such sentences and resolve the issue of ambiguity, we propose a construction-based analysis under direct interpretation approach, rejecting previous analyses based on deletion approaches. In so doing, we suggest a negative stripping construction rule that can account for ambiguous meaning. This rule further can enable us to explain syntactic structures and readings of Negative Stripping Construction.

The development of information technology in a software-centered society as of today is a very important, and the training of software utilizing robots has become popular in recent years. This study proposes efficient SW convergence education by providing curriculum and contents for science + SW convergence education in conjunction with instruction block coding program. It also complements the limitations of existing unstructured chemistry experiment teaching aid, We have developed a 'chemical experiment paradigm' that integrates software education that can be linked with other classes.

Purpose: The purpose of this was to compare effects of application of the skin stimulation method and topical anesthetic cream on pain, heart rate variability and satisfaction according to nursing intervention methods during arteriovenous fistula puncture in chronic renal failure hemodialysis patients. Methods: This study was a crossover design. Participants were 36 patients with chronic renal failure receiving hemodialysis treatment. Two forms of intervention were applied to participants, and then pain and heart rate variability were measured during the puncture. Results: There were no statistically significant differences according to each treatment in vein pain and artery pain. Also, there were no statistically significant differences according to each treatment in stress index, sympathetic activity (LF), parasympathetic activity (HF) and sympathetic activity/parasympathetic activity (LF/HF ratio). Satisfaction with application of skin stimulation method was statistically higher than that of topical anesthetic cream application. Conclusion: This suggests that application of the skin stimulation method complements disadvantages of topical anesthetic cream application and demonstrates possibility of application as a nursing intervention method which can be conveniently used by nurses in clinical practice.

Non-verbal communication is important in human interaction. It provides a layer of information that complements the message being transmitted. This type of information is not limited to human speakers. In human-robot communication, increasing the animacy of the robotic agent-by using non-verbal cues-can aid the expression of abstract concepts such as emotions. Considering the physical limitations of artificial agents, robots can use light and movement to express equivalent emotional feedback. This study analyzes the effects of LED and motion animation of a spherical robot on the emotion being expressed by the robot. A within-subjects experiment was conducted at the University of Tsukuba where participants were asked to rate 28 video samples of a robot interacting with a person. The robot displayed different motions with and without light animations. The results indicated that adding LED animations changes the emotional impression of the robot for valence, arousal, and dominance dimensions. Furthermore, people associated various situations according to the robot's behavior. These stimuli can be used to modulate the intensity of the emotion being expressed and enhance the interaction experience. This paper facilitates the possibility of designing more affective robots in the future, using simple feedback.

There are three standards for FIDO1 authentication technology: Universal Second Factor (U2F), Universal Authentication Framework (UAF), and Client to Authenticator Protocols (CTAP). FIDO2 refers to the WebAuthn standard established by W3C for the creation and use of a certificate in a web application that complements the existing CTAP. In Korea, the FIDO certified market is dominated by UAF, which deals with standards for smartphone (Android, iOS) apps owned by the majority of the people. As the market requires certification through FIDO on PCs, FIDO Alliance and W3C established standards that can be certified on the platform-independent Web and published 『Web Authentication: An API for Accessing Public Key Credentials Level 1』 on March 4, 2019. Most PC do not contain biometrics, so they are not being utilized contrary to expectations. In this paper, we intend to present a model that allows login in PC environment through biometric recognition of smartphone and FIDO UAF authentication. We propose a model in which a user requests login from a PC and performs FIDO authentication on a smartphone, and authentication is completed on the PC without any other user's additional gesture.

Cultural Studies is characterized by being opposed to (elite) literary studies not only because it points to popular or non-elite literature which is usually not dealt with by elite literary scholars or comparatists, but also because it severely challenges the established literary canon and even tries to subvert this elite-oriented canon. In addition, Cultural Studies complements literary studies in that it contributes a great deal to the reconstruction of new literary canon by expanding the narrow domain of (elite) literature and its studies. What was not touched upon by traditional literary scholars is now studied by Cultural Studies scholars. In this sense, we should realize that it is not the field of Cultural Studies that occupies the domain of literary studies, but rather, it has expanded its traditional domain and added some new cultural elements. This article will illustrate how the interdisciplinary writings of some of the representative Anglo-American literary scholars have paved the way for effective dialogues between literary studies and Cultural Studies. I argue that the practice of Cultural Studies in China will not only contribute to global Cultural Studies in general, but also carry on equal dialogue with its Western and international counterparts. My purpose is to deal with the challenge of Cultural Studies to comparative literature studies in general before mapping the new orientations of Cultural Studies in $21^{th}$ century China.

The current security issue for the Internet is focused on the security for user data. On the other hand, the research on the security for routing protocols is not so active, considering the importance of its role for the harmonious and accurate operation of the Internet. In this paper, we investigate the security problems of the link-state routing protocol which has been employed in the Internet, and suggest a new authentication mechanism for routing messages which complements and extends the previous ones. For this purpose, a concept of dual hash chains is newly introduced, which is provably secure, and we explain how to provide both the integrity and source authentication service for routing messages based on the session hash chains.

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of board of directors' activity on the audit committee's effectiveness score among manufactured listed companies on Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) for the period 2015-2017. The final sample of this study consists of 195 firm-year observations that represent manufactured companies listed on Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) for the years 2015-2017. The data of this study in terms of board of directors' meetings, audit committee size and meetings, firm leverage, firm performance, and firm age were hand-collected from the annual reports of the considered companies. The Pooled OLS regression's result indicate that audit committee's effectiveness score is influenced by the board of directors' activity. This result gives support to the agency theory prediction. This result is also consistent with the complementary function of corporate governance mechanisms in which board of directors' activity complements the function of audit committee's effectiveness score. The result of this study should be useful for manufacturing companies, Saudi Stock Exchange, auditors, and regulators which relates to the association between board of directors' activity and audit committee's effectiveness score. This study provides a new empirical evidence on the impact of board activity on the audit committee's effectiveness score in an interesting context which is Saudi Arabia.
