Purpose - Social commerce (SC) is the growth of social media highlighting the e-commerce transactions and currently, the greatest challenges of e-commerce have attracted the influence of trust in social commerce intention (SCI). Based on the challenge, the study's purpose is to discover the effect of social support (informational and emotional support) on the SCI. The study also explores the mediation effect of trust and the moderation impact of culture between the USA and Korea. Design/methodology - This study used a sample of 482 surveys filled out by online shoppers from the US and Korea, two countries with divergent cultural values. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is used to analyze the hypothetical paths. In addition, bootstrapping and multi-group analysis are perform to view mediation and moderation effects respectively. Findings - The results of our study shows that both informational and emotional support significantly influences trust and SCI. Our results also supports the mediating effect of trust in social support and the moderating effect of culture in forming SCI. Originality/value - Our empirical results provide important information to businesses formulating cross-cultural SC strategies. This will help SC companies to analyze the aspects of customer trust through social support, which in turn will increase SCI and thereby established a competitive position for SCs. Our results will also be holistic directions for SC vendors in cross-cultural settings, which will offer important social and economic contributions to the sustainable growth of SC's business.
With the rise of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and I-Korea 4.0, both of which pursue strategies for industrial innovation and for the solution to social problems, the real estate industry needs to change in order to make effective use of available space in smart environments. The implementation of smart spaces is a promising solution for this. The smart space is defined as a good use of space, whether it be a home, office, or retail store, within a smart environment. To enhance the use of smart spaces, efficient decision-making and well-timed and accurate interaction are required. This paper proposes a smart space based on platform which takes advantage of emerging technologies for the efficient storage, processing, analysis, and utilization of big data. The platform is composed of six layers - collection, transfer, storage, service, application, and management - and offers three service frameworks: activity-based, market-based, and policy-based. Based on these smart space services, decision-makers, consumers, clients, and social network participants can make better decisions, respond more quickly, exhibit greater innovation, and develop stronger competitive advantages.

The purpose of this study was to find out the characteristics of housing policies and apartment designs by comparison of supplying and remodeling apartments between France and Korea. The literature review was used in Korea cases and the literature review, site investigation, and expert interviews were used in France cases. At first, by reviewing the related literatures about the apartment developments and regenerations in France and Korea, twelve remodeling cases were represented respectively in Ile de France and Seoul. As a result, in housing policy, the Korean housing market had a shortage of low-priced houses related to biased apartment developments by private sector dependence. Consequently, the living in Korea generally required the high price in low quality houses. But in France, the housing policies were very successful in housing quantity, quality, and expense. It is involved in balances between the public housing supply and the activation of a private housing market based on the government support policy. Nevertheless, in the success of the apartment as a house type, apartments in France means the social elimination because of the supply method problems and the management failures of HLM institutions. However, in Korea, the apartment implies the successful life of the middle class population because of the competitive evolutions during 40 years as a market housing. Secondly, In the characteristics of remodeling, the remodeling in Korea was for property value improvements. It mainly executed to expand the size of a house by expansion of living space. However the remodeling in France was for social mixes and connections with the surrounding area. It mostly performed by various design methods such as vertical merging houses, partial removal, reconstruction, and construction of a local community centers and mixed-use residential buildings. This study shows the simultaneously remodeling features of those two countries. These findings can be used in developing effective strategies for the public housing regenerations in Korea and other countries.
Purpose - As the competition in the foodservice franchise industry and the market becomes fierce and the entry barrier is lowered, the foodservice franchisor and franchisees strive to increase their competitive advantage in the market. Therefore, the franchisor and franchisees use experience management strategies to enhance the positive experiences of customers visiting the stores. In this regard, this study examines the effects of customer-oriented activities (physical-, social-, health-, and service-oriented activities) on utilitarian and hedonic values, and loyalty using stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) model and value-expectancy theory. Research design, data, methodology - The data were collected from panels of online survey company, who visited a foodservice franchisee within last month. The survey was conducted for about 15 days from March 7, 2019 to March 21, 2019, and about 3,500 e-mails and messages were distributed to ask for the survey. A total 412 responded and completed the questionnaires. Of the 412 completed questionaires, 12 were discarded due to missing and misinformation data and 400 were retained for further data analysis. Results --The results showed that social oriented activities, health oriented activities, and service oriented activities had positive effects on hedonic value, while physical oriented activities did not have a significant effect on hedonic value. Health oriented activities and service oriented activities had positive effects on utilitarian value, while physical oriented activities and social oriented activities had no significant effects on utilitarian value. Hedonic and utilitarian values also have a positive effect on loyalty. Conclusions - First, food service franchises should provide services and menus in consideration of the health of customers. When a customer visits the store, franchisee should provide more health-oriented food or materials and clean and comfortable conditions so as not to threaten the health of the customer. Second, the food service franchise must build a service-oriented system. Foodservice franchisor need to provide continuous service training not only to the franchisees, but also to the employees of the franchisees. Third, franchise should design a store where customers can form social exchanges through providing various information exchange to customers and making the store as a local community center.

The e-commerce market is growing faster as demand for non-face-to-face shopping increases due to COVID-19. These changes lead to the expansion of various opportunities for consumers, but companies are required to understand consumer characteristics and reflect them in their sales strategies so that they can be competitive in the market. This study examined how the perceived ease and utility of consumers affect the intention to use the platform according to the technology acceptance model (TAM). As a result, it was confirmed that the price competitiveness, awareness, and ease of use of the platform had a significant effect on the utility. In addition, it was confirmed that there was no moderating effect of user characteristics on the effect of ease of use on the platform intention. These results present important implications for a company's sales strategy, and in future studies, it is necessary to expand the study in consideration of more diverse variables.
This study show the empirical results and the models that explain the content creator's personal brand value in the user-generated content platform. Producer's brand value performance could have enhancement and dilution by their activities for the long-term and repetitive change. Therefore, for the measure and analysis, the models have to catch the effect from producer's the diverse activities. This study would find the guideline by competitive analysis between (1) the impact of in-group user's self-motivated participation and (2) the impact of the social links from the outside platform. Based on the analysis results, producer's creation activity as focused on the specific and professional category increase their brand value for the long-term. However, producers would have to upload diverse category, after users are bored to their similar videos' as before. These empirical results would be a guidelines to the content management strategies for producers and the platform.

The development of construction industry has led to the increase in the number of criteria imposed by project clients for selecting contractors. For example, clients often request tenderers to satisfy various conditions such as tight programme, financial strength, managerial ability, relevant work experiences, technical strength, high workmanship standard, safety requirement, quality specification, and yet others. This trend has attracted research interests of devising various methods for helping project clients to assess contractors' bids. For example, in recent development, the Works Bureau of the Hong Kong Government has introduced two mechanisms in tender evaluation for various public work contracts, namely, the Marking Scheme effective from June 2002 and the Formula Approach effective from November 2002 [1], [2]. These approaches evaluate a contractor's tender by considering collectively its tender price and performance attributes, the latter including contractor experience, past performance, technical resources and technical content of his proposal. The tender with the highest combined price and performance score (CPPS) will be normally recommended for acceptance. It appears, however, that there is little existing research in helping contractors to identify a competition strategy that enables the contractor to offer his most competitive bid collectively taking into account his resource capacities and project client's multiple performance criteria. This paper examines the factors affecting contractor's competition strategy to compete for works in Hong Kong. The understanding about the factors will contribute to identifying effective competition strategy. The data used for the analysis were collected from Hong Kong construction industry. The research findings may provide valuable references for investigating effective competition strategies in other construction industries outside the region.
With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and cloud computing are developing rapidly, and smart homes enabled by these technologies are rapidly gaining popularity. To gain a competitive advantage in the global market, companies must understand the differences in consumer needs in different countries and cultures and develop corresponding business strategies. Therefore, this study conducts a comparative analysis of consumer reviews of smart homes in South Korea and China. This study collected online reviews of SmartThings, ThinQ, Msmarthom, and MiHome, the four most commonly used smart home apps in Korea and China. The collected review data is divided into satisfied reviews and dissatisfied reviews according to the ratings, and topics are extracted for each review dataset using LDA topic modeling. Next, the extracted topics are classified according to five evaluation factors of Perceived Usefulness, Reachability, Interoperability,Trustness, and Product Brand proposed by previous studies. Then, by comparing the importance of each evaluation factor in the two datasets of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, we find out the factors that affect consumer satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and compare the differences between users in Korea and China. We found Trustness and Reachability are very important factors. Finally, through language network analysis, the relationship between dissatisfied factors is analyzed from a more microscopic level, and improvement plans are proposed to the companies according to the analysis results.
Purpose - This paper aims to investigate the competitiveness and complementarity of the agricultural products trade between Korea and Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) countries. The study evaluates the opportunities and challenges that Korea's agricultural sector faces after joining the CPTPP, and suggests strategies to deepen cooperation and expand Korea's agricultural products trade. Design/methodology - To achieve these objectives, we analyze the trade competition and cooperation relationship between Korea and CPTPP countries in the agricultural products trade. This study uses data from Chapters HS1-24 in UN Comtrade from 2012 to 2022, and applies the indices of revealed comparative advantage, export similarity, and trade complementarity to examine the trade dynamics. Furthermore, we use an Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model to predict the agricultural products trade complementarity index between Korea and CPTPP countries from 2022 to 2031. Findings - The findings of our analysis reveal that Korea's agricultural products trade competitiveness is weak compared to that of CPTPP countries, and Korea's agricultural products are at a competitive disadvantage. On the whole, the similarity index of agricultural products trade exports between Korea and CPTPP countries is low, the structure of agricultural products export is quite different, and trade competition is relatively moderate. The trade complementarity index between Korea and CPTPP countries is generally high, with strong complementarity and a large space for cooperation and development. The ARIMA model shows that in the next ten years, although the agricultural products trade complementarity index fluctuates, but is generally high, there will still be a complementarity advantage in the future. Originality/value - This study is the first attempt to investigate the competitiveness and complementarity of the agricultural products trade between Korea and CPTPP countries. We also introduce an ARIMA model to forecast and analyze the future agricultural products trade complementarity index. Our study provides new perspectives and solutions for the future development of Korea's agricultural products trade after joining the CPTPP.

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the cases of the multiplex cinema industry of CJ CGV, Lotte Cinema and Megabox to study what CJ CGV's innovative core competence is from a management strategy perspective. Through this, the core competence strategies, Value, Rareness, Inimitability, and Organization(VRIO) were analyzed in order to derive from the major success factors based on the expansion process of Cultureplex. According to the analysis results, CJ CGV's differentiated value roots from Cultureplex, which CJ CGV priorities in creating movie theaters a cultural entertainment hub. The ability of CJ CGV in transforming the cinema into a cultural and living playground through technological innovation is it's cutting edge from its competitors under the rareness factor. A CJ CGV attains its inimitability by establishing social brand power as an inclusive social contribution. An organization of CJ CGV is a globalization worldwide. CJ CGV is to increase the brand value of cultural experience movie theaters and enhance customer satisfaction by expanding the use of existing movie theaters and pioneering with innovative development to theaters.
