Purpose: The aim of this study is to gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace by examining the current situation of three domestic Food Dehydrator companies' products. Food Dehydrators are sort of small domestic appliances(SDA), first introduced by Korean companies. Furthermore, this study suggests the improvement plans in the rapidly changing world situation. Methods: Evaluate through comparing three domestic Food Dehydrator companies' products based on the PQI(Premium Quality Index) model, developed by product quality evaluation experts group. Results: At first, we classified evaluation factors into three parts - usability quality, emotional quality - and each of the factors includes sub factors. Under this condition, the results of this study are as follows; the brand quality is remaining at a high satisfaction level compare to other two factors but emotional quality is assessed to be low. This study has shown at customers consider brand and usability quality factors as the most important factor due to the nature of the product. Conclusion: As the possibility of increasing customer needs such as product design and sensitive quality besides usability quality has risen in a competitive global market, the manufacturing companies in Korea are recommended to put forth the necessary effort to improve their product quality, especially in terms of emotional quality.

As the Internet service is expanding rapidly, portal sites, a gateway tn the net, are attracting increasing attention these days. As the Internet service has expanded rapidly, so has the interest for portal sites,, which serve as a gateway to the net. Despite the tendency, however, research on a measure by which to evaluate the quality of portal sites or development of such measures has not been fully pursued. As online services, faced with profitability, are considering 'charge per view', the development of a set of quality evaluation measures for portal services will prove to become a valuable instrument in constructing competitive strategies that are vital for survival and growth of a firm. In that regard, this study aims to develop a set of evaluation measures for Internet portal sites by empirically investigating the most common offline measures for quality of services, SERVQUAL, retail SERVQUAL and other evaluation measures for IT-related online services. Moreover, the study offers the strategic implications of the defined measures.

This paper deals with the construction of database system for the human sensibility evaluation.Recently, although a great deal of research efforts have been made to find out the relationships between products and emotion, the main focus of studies have been on visual and auditory sense and less on human sensibility evaluation. Therefore, we think that continuous and systematic studies on odors and the construction of database system are strongly needed in order to enhance the competitive power of products related to them.In this paper, we developed a human sensibility evaluation database system fitted with the characteristics of our country. 쏜 design procedures of database system are presented. According to these procudures, a new database system is implemented on personal computer using MS Access and Visual and is validated.

Nowadays the importance of Building Remodeling as a means to create an architectural environment capable of responding to the social, economic changes has increased more than before. After long time pass, the aged building have faced the need for the overall repair of the structure and function. Remodeling is much more saving the time and cost than new construction in the office building. This study was focused in functional and efficient evaluation. Based on these points, we developed the evaluation factors, and verified a validity of evaluation factors through a survey. The purpose of this study was focused on the Analysis for Recognizing the priority of Indoor Environmental Factors in office Remodeling. This study provides us the competitive guidance of remodeling. The owners and tenants take the maximum efficiency with the minimum cost.

It is difficult to put it into practice in that it requires bearing too much burden to draw out the planning itself in a case of large construction work. Consequently in this paper we select evaluation criteria by construction progress, classify into several categories, and regard potential danger which often occurs, as a evaluation criterion. Further step is to allow workers or collaborated companies to express their expert opinions or experiences and to encourage quality and process control and autonomous safety control by applying PSM(Process Safety Management) method using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and to development of PSIM(Process Safety Information Management) evaluation method in the construction. The reason why PSIM method should be quantitative and substantial progress is because it contributes Korean constructing companies to enhancing their safety control ability and to taking an equal stance just like developed countries, thereby strengthening their competitive edges.

In recent, the importance and necessity of some studies on reliability evaluation of grid come from the recent black-out accidents occurred in the world. The quantity evaluation of transmission system reliability is very important under competitive electricity environment. The reason is that the successful operation of electric power under the deregulated electricity market depends on transmission system reliability management. The various results of many case studies for the IEEE 25buses system using the Transmission Reliability Evaluation for Large-Scale Systems(TRELSS) Version 5_1, a program made in EPRI are introduced in this paper. Some sensitivity analysis has been included. This paper suggests that the some important input parameters of the TRELSS can be determined optimally from this sensitivity analysis for high reliability level operation of a system.

According to appearance of a new competitive factor, as 'Green', Green Logistics becomes the important evaluation factor for many firms in emerging competitive environment. Despite this importance, the recognition level of Korean firms on Green Logistics lags behind that of leading companies in developed countries. In addition, the literature studies and practical strategies for systematic management control plans are very insufficient. In this paper, we establish decision making framework of Green Logistics by using ANP(analytic network process). Specifically, we suggest at first the overall concepts and issues of Green Logistics through literature studies. Next, we derive 6 clusters and 21 components forming the strategic green logistics, and then we conduct surveys for pairwise comparison of experts on Green Logistics and compute relative weights of the clusters, components and altanatives considering the feedback structure. We expect that the results of this study will be very helpful for managers to make strategic decisions.

Evolutionary algorithm is recognized as a promising approach to solving multi-objective combinatorial optimization problems. When no preference information of decision makers is given, multi-objective optimization problems have been commonly used to search for diverse and good Pareto optimal solution. In this paper we propose a new multi-objective evolutionary algorithm based on competitive coevolutionary algorithm, and demonstrate the applicability of the algorithm. The proposed algorithm is designed to promote both population diversity and rapidity of convergence. To achieve this, the strategies of fitness evaluation and the operation of the Pareto set are developed. The algorithm is applied to job shop scheduling problems (JSPs). The JSPs have two objectives: minimizing makespan and minimizing earliness or tardiness. The proposed algorithm is compared with existing evolutionary algorithms in terms of solution quality and diversity. The experimental results reveal the effectiveness of our approach.

The purpose of this experiment is to estabilish the sensitive and specific ELISA (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay) system for the detection of fish metallothionein (MT). Silver carp were injected with CA of 1-8mg/kg body wt. 4 times during 10 days. Silver carp was very tolerant species to CA. Cd induced MT in liver was seperated and purified by gel filtration chromatography and ion exchange chromatography and identified by spectrophotometry, native gel electrophoresis and western blot analysis. The rabbit antiserum was produced by immunizing rabbit with lyophilized MT, and the competitive ELISA system was estabilished for the detection of fish MT. In the present ELISA system, the detection limit was about 33 ng/ml. When this ELISA system was employed to determine the MT level in the supernatant sample of fish liver homogenate, the reaction curve showed a good parallel corelationship with the calibration curve over a certain dilution range. The results indicate that the competitive ELISA can be a useful tool for the detection of fish MT in the toxicological study and the evaluation of water pollution.
