Results : The dental hygienists had the highest score in relationship(4.09), and had the lowest score in communicative competence(3.29). In organizational commitment, they had the highest score in affective commitment(3.20). There were statistically significant differences in that regard according to age(p<0.001), marital status(p<0.05) and career(p<0.001). The organizational commitment varied significantly with age(p<0.05) and career(p<0.01), and normative commitment significantly varied with the number of work days(p<0.05) and career(p<0.05). There was a significant correlation between the resilience and organizational commitment of the dental hygienists(p<0.001). Conclusions : The organizational commitment of the dental hygienists was better when they had a better resilience, and that resilience made a contribution to the improvement of organizational commitment in the clinical dental hygienists.

  • As Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy is becoming a core competence more recently, many companies want a reliable CRM assessment system which enables measuring and diagnosing corporate customer strategies for building an optimized CRM strategy. However, there has been short of researches on developing the CRM diagnosis methodology that is directly applicable to real practices. Drawing upon the theoretical framework of CRM scorecard, we developed and suggested a corporate CRM diagnosis methodology that can systematically understand and assess the corporate CRM capability and performance, guiding their future directions. Companies can search the important but weak areas among various CRM strategy subjects through the proposed diagnostic procedures. This framework has a hierarchical structure that has four evaluative domains each of which has several evaluative subjects consisting of many evaluative themes: the score of upper factor is the weighted average of its subordinate factor scores. And the score of each evaluative theme is the weighted average of quantitative and qualitative evaluative indexes. Quantitative indexes are calculated by analyzing customer and sales data and qualitative ones are derived from survey data. Each evaluative index has more than one measure and its score can be derived from its own formula consisting of the measures. To prove the concept, we applied this framework to a real company and concluded that it might be appropriate to understand the corporate CRM strategy situation, find the pain points, and resolve them for better CRM implementation.

  • Purpose: South Korea is rapidly changing into a multicultural society; the nursing discipline faces the need to educate its students in cultural competence to meet the health care needs of an ethnically diverse population. However, there is little evidence suggesting that nursing programs provide this education. The purpose of this study was to measure nursing students' cultural awareness in a nursing education program. Methods: Four hundred thirty-three nursing students at 4 universities in Daejeon participated in this cross-sectional descriptive study, which was held from August to September 2012. Data collection was conducted via questionnaires based on the Cultural Awareness Scale(CAS), and demographics included general and cultural characteristics. Results: The mean cultural awareness score was 4.54, which was relatively low compared to studies completed in other countries. The highest rating was in the cognitive awareness subscale, and the lowest was in the general education experiences subscale in CAS. The level of cultural awareness was significantly different in those who had experienced overseas travel. Those students also perceived a greater need for cultural education. Conclusion: The study's finding suggest the need for a transcultural nursing education program designed to enhance the level of cultural awareness in Korea's nursing students.

  • Purpose: This study was to verify the effects of spiritual care module education programs by applying it to nurses. Method: The study employed a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design in a quasi-experimental basis. Subjects were 93 nurses (46 in an experimental group and 47 in a control group) with more than two years clinic experience, attending a bachelor program of K University, in I city, Korea. The program consists of courses with 2.5 hours per week for seven weeks. Result: Scores of spiritual needs and spiritual nursing competence increased significantly in the experimental group. The score of spirituality and spiritual well-being also increased in the experimental group, but not significantly. Conclusion: The spiritual care module education program was considered to be an effective nursing intervention education course. Nurses educated with this program seemed to perform better nursing interventions for subjects facing difficulties or confusion by helping them restore and cope with those problems by themselves. Therefore, it is recommended that spiritual care module education should be settled as a regular course of nursing college with consideration to the corrections and supplements mentioned in this study.

  • This study attempted to investigate and compare the level of needs and expected benefits of information technology(IT) applications in restaurant operation from managerial and employee levels. Self-competence levels, education and training needs, and the company IT application levels were evaluated. The respondents for the study were the staff of full-service, mid-scale restaurants owned by a firm. Among the respondents, 17.6% were in managerial level(managers) and 82.4% were in employee level(employees). The results of this study indicated that compared to employees, managers perceived more in-depth that IT is beneficial and is needed in restaurant operation. Both groups rated IT as very much needed and beneficial to restaurant operation. However, managers rated their own technological competence significantly higher than the employees did. Both groups expressed the desire for IT training and education although the managers' needs were stronger than the other group. The company's IT application level was assessed by the managers and employees at a slightly higher than average score on a 5-point scale, showing no difference between the groups. The study findings show that the respondents perceived the IT needs and benefits than the present IT application level of restaurants, which suggests more IT applications be adopted to the restaurant operations.

Methods: A questionnaire was administered to 182 senior paramedics who each had more than 3 years field experience. The questionnaire measuring preceptor role awareness was composed of 64 items with responses based on a 5 point Likert scale. Data were collected from July 31, 2018 to August 29, 2018, and were analyzed with IBM SPSS version 24.0. Results: The average score for preceptor role awareness was 3.87 (supervisor = 3.95, resource person = 3.88, role model = 3.85, and instruction designer = 3.81). There were significant differences in preceptor role awareness among the participants based on competence (p =.002) and clinical skill (p =.000). Also, there were high positive correlations between preceptor role awareness and its subdivision (p <.01). Conclusion: For effective operation of the preceptor system in the future, the preceptors' role as designers of instruction and role models should be enhanced, Also, future preceptors are very important in the improvement of competence and clinical skill in the preceptor system. Therefore, it is necessary to provide training that enables new preceptors to effectively adopt and operate the preceptor system.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare professional self-concept, clinical nursing competence, and practicum satisfaction between nursing students with and without pediatric nursing clinical preceptorship. Methods: This study used a comparative research design. A total of 85 junior nursing students participated in the study, and data from 76 students were analyzed using SPSS WIN 20.0. Among them, 44 students experienced pediatric nursing clinical preceptorship. Results: The students with clinical preceptorship showed a significantly higher score in nursing skill related items of professional self-concept and the confidence in knowledge of injection preparation and administration compared to the counterpart students. Practicum satisfaction was also significantly higher in the students with clinical preceptorship than in the other students. There were significant positive correlations among professional self-concept, performance confidence, and practicum satisfaction. Conclusion: The study findings suggest that clinical preceptorship is an effective educational method to teach clinical practicum of pediatric nursing. The use of clinical preceptorship needs to be considered to motivate nursing students actively involved into the clinical practicum. The roles of clinical preceptors should be clearly identified in clinical education.
