그림자 현상에 대한 초등학생의 시각적 표상 능력 (Analysis of Elementary School Students' Visual Representation Competence for Shadow Phenomenon)

  • 본 연구와 관련된 선행 연구에서는 과학 교수 학습 과정에서 효과적인 시각적 표상 활용과 연구를 촉진하기 위한 목적으로 2개 차원으로 구성된 시각적 표상 능력의 교육목표 분류체계(visual representation competence taxonomy: VRC-T)가 개발되었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 VRC-T에 기초하여 그림자 현상에 대한 초등학생의 시각적 표상 능력을 조사하고 그림자에 대한 과학 지식과 표상 능력 사이의 관계 및 VRC-T 인지 과정의 위계 관계를 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구 결과 그림자 현상에 대한 초등학생의 시각적 표상 능력을 '해석하기', '통합하기', '구성하기'의 대범주로 나누어 보면 대체적으로 '해석하기'가 가장 점수가 높고, 다음이 '구성하기', '통합하기'의 순으로 나타났다. 또 학생들이 정규 교육과정에서 그림자 관련 단원을 학습한 이후임에도 불구하고 시각적 표상 능력은 높지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 한편 텍스트 기반의 과학 지식은 시각적 표상 능력의 모든 범주와 상관이 높지 않았다. 이것은 텍스트 형식의 과학 지식을 가지고 있더라도 시각적 표상 능력은 갖추어져 있지 않을 가능성이 크다는 것과 과학 수업에서 시각적 표상을 좀 더 강조하여 다루어야 할 필요성을 나타낸다. 마지막으로 서열화 이론에 따라 그림자 현상에 대한 시각적 표상 능력의 인지 과정 위계 관계를 탐색한 결과, 인정비율을 다소 느슨하게 하는 경우 6개 인지 과정 사이에 일직선의 위계 관계가 발견되었다. 이것은 평가 도구나 과제, 시각적 표상 능력을 지도하는 수업 활동을 계획할 때 VRC-T가 유용하게 활용될 수 있는 분석틀임을 시사한다.

Stockmanship Competence and Its Relation to Productivity and Economic Profitability: The Context of Backyard Goat Production in the Philippines

  • A stockperson has a significant influence on the productivity and welfare of his animals depending on his stockmanship competence. In this study, stockmanship competence (SC) is defined as the capacity of the stockperson to ensure the welfare of his animals by providing his animals' needs. The study was conducted to evaluate the SC of backyard goat raisers and examine its relationship to goat productivity and economic profitability. There were 101 respondents for this study who have all undertaken farmer livestock school on integrated goat management (FLS-IGM). Interview was conducted in Region I, Philippines on September 3 to 30, 2012 and March 4 to 17, 2013. Data on SC, goat productivity and farmer's income were gathered. Questions regarding SC were formulated based on the Philippine Recommendations for Goat Production and from other scientific literature. Housing, feeding, breeding and health and husbandry management were the indicators used in computing stockmanship competence index score (SCIS). Pearson correlation using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was carried out to analyse the relationship between SCIS, productivity and income. Based from the results of the study, a majority of the respondents raised native and upgraded goats. The computed mean SCIS before and after undergoing FLS-IGM were 38.52% and 75.81% respectively, a percentage difference of 65.23%. Both index scores resulted in significant differences in productivity and income. The median mature weight and mortality rate of goats before FLS-IGM was 14 kg and 30% respectively. After FLS-IGM, median mature weight was 19 kg and mortality rate decreased from 30% to 11.11%. Likewise, fewer goat diseases were observed by farmers who were able to undergo FLS-IGM. With regard to income, there was a 127.34% difference on the median net income derived by farmers. Result implies that improved SC could lead not only to increased productivity and income of backyard goat raisers but also to better animal welfare.

간호사 임상경력관리체계 모형 개발 - 상급종합병원 중심 - (Development of Clinical Ladder System Model for Nurses: For Tertiary Care Hospitals)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a Clinical Ladder System (CLS) model for staff nurses working in inpatient units of tertiary care hospitals in Korea. Methods: The study was carried out in 2 steps. First, a nursing competence evaluation scale was developed. Second, evaluation of the nursing competences, qualifications, and professional activities of 230 nurses from five tertiary care hospitals was done by 49 head nurses between Feb. and Dec., 2014. Nurses were selected by head nurses according to their clinical experience and expected behavioral characteristics at each level of the ladder. Results: A nursing competence scale was developed consisting of 5 subcategories (clinical practice, ethical practice, education, leadership, and professional development) and 11 elements, and 5 levels of behavioral indicators for each element. Cronbach's alphas for the entire tool and subcategories were over .853 and stability of the scale was confirmed. There were significant differences in nursing competence according to the 5 levels of the ladder. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the proposed CLS model with a standard score for nursing competence, recommended or obligatory criteria for qualifications and professional activities provides a good tool for developing nurses' competences and retaining excellent nurses in clinical practice.

  • This study focuses on the case of FIRA(Korea Fisheries Resources Agency) and analysis the introduction effect of BSC(Balanced Score card) implementation. So it will set forth the improvement method and the implications for Quasi-governmental organizations which are trying to introduce or are operating the BSC system. This study suggests how to improve the problems of BSC as below : (1) Building of reasonable and balanced evaluation index system (2) Acquiring of comparability and equality through adjustments of group evaluated (3) Enhancing of competence and professionalism of evaluating group (4) Alleviating of difference gap of performance incentives and promoting of non-money incentives (5) Enhancing of positive acceptance and recognition for BSC.

보건의료 및 복지 전공 대학생의 다문화 지식, 공감, 문화적 민감성에 관한 연구 (Cultural Knowledge, Empathy and Cultural Sensitivity of University Students Majoring in Health And Welfare)

  • Purpose: Multi-cultural families are increasing highly in Korea. Health care professionals and students majoring in health and welfare need to develop their cultural competence for quality of life from multi-cultural families. This study was to be conducted by examining the level of culture knowledge, empathy, and cultural sensitivity of university students majoring in health and welfare. Methods: Convenience sampling method was used and 408 students from 3 universities were evaluated for final analysis. Data collection was conducted through the use of questionnaires. Results: The score of cultural knowledge of students was very low. Empathy and cultural sensitivity showed middle range. There was a significant correlation between cultural knowledge and empathy, empathy and cultural sensitivity. However, there was no significant correlations between cultural knowledge and cultural sensitivity. Conclusion: An understanding of multi-cultural enables health and welfare providers to specialize service in cross- cultural situations of multi-cultural families in Korea. Ways to improve cultural competence for students majoring in health care and welfare is needed.

의사소통 능력 측정 도구로서의 공인 영어 표준화 시험 타당도 (Validity of TOEFL, TOEIC and TEPS as a measure of communicative competence)

  • The scores of TOEFL, TOEIC and TEPS have been increasingly used for many purposes in Korea In particular, these test scores are being used as a measure of the test-takers' overall communicative competence. Nonetheless, few studies have been conducted that investigate the validity of the test scores used for this purpose. As a preliminary step to explore the validity of the test scores, we conducted a small scale study by comparing 30 university students' scores in TOEFL, TOElC and TEPS with their class performances in English conversation and composition courses. The correlations between the test scores and the grade point averages of the courses show that the test scores are much harder to use as a valid measure of test-takers' overall communicative competence than usually thought to be and that the score in TOEFL is, nonetheless, a more reliable measure than the ones in the other tests. Although tins study has a few limitations such as the small number of participants, the homogeneity of the sample as a group, etc, it provides some insight into the use of the three tests for measurement of overall communicative proficiency and suggests need for conducting further validation studies in these areas.

학부 성형외과학 과목평가를 위한 짧은 사례문항의 개발과 시행: 3년간의 경험 (Development and Enforcement of Short Case Test Items for Evaluation in Undergraduate Course of Plastic Surgery: 3 Years Experience)

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical competence of medical student using short case test items. Development of short case test items with definition of an assessment of subject, choice of clinical stations sampling, identification of components of clinical competence to be evaluated, and assessment of practicability and results exploitation. For the last three years 28, 48 and 30 topics were developed annually. Among them 20, 23 and 23 topics were selected. About 50 students were examined annually. The mean score was 72.7, 57.1, 64.3 respectively. The mean preparation time of the students for the examination was 9.8 hours. About 60% of the students prepared the test in small group activity. Our experience suggests that short case test items be feasible for evaluation of student learning in Plastic Surgery. This method should be considered as a useful tool to assess medical student's competence or even an examination for board certification.

근로자건강센터 직원의 핵심역량 요구 및 역량수행 (Core Competency Requirements and Implementation of the Workers Health Center Employees)

  • Objectives: This study was established to ascertain the requirements and implementation of core competencies for employees of the a workers' health center. Methods: The study consisted of a four-step process: a literature review, focus group interviews, expert opinions, and a questionnaire. The survey was conducted online among 119 employees of the National Workers' Health Center. Results: As a result of the research, eleven core competencies and 37 sub-competencies were derived in three areas: Competence as a social worker, competence to perform duties, and competence for maintaining expertise. The key demands for core competencies were "health consultation" and "understanding of small businesses.". They responded that they needed to "maintain an ethical attitude" and "consult on workers' health.". The largest score difference between core competency requirements and competency implementation was "collaboration with the community.". Conclusions: It is necessary to increase competencies not only for competencies with high core requirements, but also for relatively low competencies. In addition, efforts should be made to improve the core competencies of the employees of the Workers' Health Center to effectively respond to changes in the industrial structure and crises such as COVID-19.

PBL기반 팀활동 수업에서 대면·비대면 학습에 따른 학습역량 분석 (Analysis of Learning Competence according to the Contact·Untact Learing in the Team-activity Class based on PBL)

  • This study conducted and evaluated the PBL-based team activity classes in contact and untact learning. Appropriate subject (Engineering communication) was also selected and evaluation methods were improved. In the qualitative evaluation results, in contact learning, similar score ranges were formed for each task, and the variability of scores for each task was not large. In untact learning, the difference in scores for each task was rather large, and the variability of scores for each task was large, indicating a large difference between teams that performed well and teams that did not. In the quantitative evaluation, contact learning showed a little low grades, but untact learning showed relatively high grades, but there were limitations in showing the conclusion that the untact learning effect was very good. As a result of the survey, there were more positive responses to the degree of understanding of the class conducted online, the degree of help to improve competence, and the team activity. However, if untact learning continues, it was analyzed that it is necessary to prepare appropriate measures to enhance learning effects and efficiently conduct team activities.

기본간호학 실습교육에서 웹 기반 학습이 유치도뇨술 수행능력, 지식, 자신감에 미치는 효과 (Effectiveness of Web Based Learning on Competence, Knowledge, and Confidence in Foley-Catheter Management in Basic Nursing Education)

  • Purpose: This study was done to compare the effectiveness of web based learning versus traditional education for learning foley-catheterization in Basic Nursing. Method: This study was a quasi-experimental research. The participants were 60 students who were taking Basic Nursing at A nursing college (3 years) in C city. Thirty students each were assigned to the experimental or control group. Data were collected between October 20 and November 4, 2003. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ANCOVA. Results: The mean score for competence in foley-catheterization practice in the experimental group was 48.63 and in the control group, 44.67. This result was statistically significant (t=7.655, p=.001). The mean score for knowledge in the experimental group was 63.0, while fur the control group, 64.0. This result was not statistically significant (t=-.330, p=.743). The mean score for confidence in learning in the experimental group was 26.70 for the pre-test and 30.73 for the post-test, and in the control group 27.93 and 28.37 respectively, but this result was not statistically significant (F=.858, p=.358). Conclusion: The Web based learning was found to be effective in nursing practice but not nursing knowledge. It is necessary to continue to develop approaches to teaching nursing and to evaluate these approaches with further research.
