Biocontrol potential of an isolate of Helicosporium spp. against Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium oxysporium and Phytophthora drechsleri was evaluated in vitro and in vivo. A selected biocontrol agent designated as Helicosporium 0635BP strongly inhibited growth and lysed mycelium of Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporium on PDA. Autoclaved culture filtrate of the agent also completely inhibited growth of the turfgrass large patch pathogen, R. solani AG2-2 IV at the concentration of 50 ml $L^{-1}$. The pathogen was killed when dipped under the 20% filtrate for four hours or 50% for one hr. In a field trial, plots applied with the crude or times diluted culture filtrate showed 100% control efficacy of the turfgrass large patch as a chemical applied for a comparison. Results indicated that Helicosporium 0635BP is a promising biocontrol agent on control of the turfgrass large patch disease and its culture filtrate contained unknown heat suitable antifungal substance (s). Further studies on mass production, purification and identification of the unknown compound (s) are in progress for practical use.

Purpose To compare small bowel distension and side effects between a diluted polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution and a low-density (0.1% w/v) barium sulfate suspension (LDBSS) for CT enterography (CTE) preparation. Materials and Methods Total 173 consecutive patients who underwent CTE were enrolled in this study. The LDBSS (1 L) was used in 50 patients, and the diluted iso-osmotic PEG solution (1 L) was used in 123 patients. Two blinded radiologists independently scored jejunal and ileal distensions on a 5-point scale. To compare side effects between the two groups, the patients reported whether they had immediate complications after the administration of the oral contrast media. Results For ileal and jejunal distension, the diluted PEG solution showed no difference from the LDBSS for either reader (ileum: reader 1, median, 4; 4, interquartile range, 3-4; 3-4, p = 0.997; reader 2, median, 4; 4, interquartile range, 3.3-4.0; 3-4, p = 0.064; jejunum: reader 1, median, 2; 2, interquartile range, 2-3; 2-3, p = 0.560; reader 2, median, 3; 2, interquartile range, 2-3; 2-3, p = 0.192). None of the patients complained of immediate complications following administration of either of the oral contrast media. Conclusion The diluted PEG solution showed comparable bowel distension compared to LDBSS and no immediate side effects; thus, it can be a useful alternative.

The positive impacts of robotics education and programming education on learners are similar. However, robotics education differs from programming education because it includes purchasing and building robots that cause financial and cognitive load of learners. Due to these differences, two kinds of education may not possess equal efficacies for all schools or all learning objectives. To verify this hypothesis, we conducted meta-analysis of studies on robotics education published in South Korea to estimate the effect sizes and compare it to that of programming education. The difference between the average effect sizes of robotics education and of programming education was significant, as the former was 0.4060 and the latter 0.6664. The average effect size of programming education was significantly larger than that of robotics education for primary school students. Middle school students achieved the highest results in both robotics education and programming education. Also, robotics education became more effective than programming education as students were older. Analysis on objectives showed that programming education uniformly affected all areas, whereas robotics education had more impact on affective domain than cognitive domain. Robot construction had the largest effect size, followed by robot construction and programming, robot programming, and robot utilization. Programming education has larger positive impacts on students overall compared to robotics education. Robotics education is more effective to upperclassmen than programming education, and improves affective domain of students. Also, robotics education shows higher efficacy when combined with various subjects.

In the study, the effects of damping devices on damping ratio increase and wind-load reduction were investigated based on the computational platform, which is one of the parametric modeling methods. The computational platform helps the designers or engineers to evaluate the efficacy of the numerous alternative structural systems for irregular Super-Tall building, which is crucial in determining the capacity and the number of the supplemental damping devices for adding the required damping ratios to the building. The inherent damping ratio was estimated based on the related domestic and foreign researches conducted by using real wind-load records. Two types of damping devices were considered: One is inter-story installation type passive control devices and the other is mass type active control devices. The supplemental damping ratio due to the damping devices was calculated by means of equivalent static analysis using an equation suggested by FEMA. The optimal design of the damping devices was conducted by using the computational platform. The structural element quantity reduction effect resulting from the installation of the damping devices could be simply assessed by proposing a wind-load reduction factor, and the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by a numerical example of a 455m high-rise building. The comparison between roof displacement and the story shear forces by the nonlinear time history analysis and the proposed method indicated that the proposed method could simply but approximately estimate the effects of the supplemental damping devices on the roof displacement and the member force reduction.

Hydrogels are natural polymer networks that can contain huge quantities of water and many cosmetical ingredients. Their hydrophilic functional groups creates a matrix, which allows high efficacy in delivering active ingredients into the skin. In industry, hydrating properties and strength of the hydrogels are of great interest in manufacturing hydrogel mask packs. We have used the cellulose in various forms such as powder, cotton fiber and cellulase treated cotton fiber to investigate the property changes of cellulose/hydrogel sheets. When 0.1% and 0.3% of cellulose powder were added to hydrogels, tensile strength of hydrogel sheets were decreased by 10% and 14% respectively. Vise versa, when 0.5 ~ 2 cm of cotton fibers were added, tensile strength of hydrogel sheets were significantly increased by about 20%. The hydrogels which contain cotton fibers also gave an excellent moisturizing effect. Especially cellolose/hydrogels containing cellulase-treated cotton fibers showed the best effect on retaining moisture content increasing upto 380% in comparison with the one containing untreated cotton as well as excellent dispersibility.
The purpose of this study was to identify the trends of resourcefulness researche studies for suggesting the future direction of study. Study design, types of subjects, measurement tools, study concept, and outcome were examined by reviewing 61 research studies published from 1980 to 1999. The results were as follows: 1. There were 24 works in the 1980s and 37 works in 1990, according to the published year of resourcefulness study. Nonexperimental studies like descriptive study, correlational study and comparative study were more frequent than experimental studies. 2. Research studies that consisted of 30- 100 subjects were the most numerous with 27 studies in all. The majority of study subjects was shown as healthy students and depressive patients. 3. Most studies used Rosenbaum's Self Control Schedule(SCS) for assessing resourcefulness. Reliabilities of resourcefulness researches were cronbach ${\alpha}=.70$ or more. According to statisitical tests done for internal validity, SCS was negatively correlated to maladaptation. Factor analysis revealed that the most parsimonious structure was 3 to 6 factors. The total communality variance in the SCS was about 40 %. Other tools used with the SCS were about coping, depression, satisfaction of life and symptoms, self management and health promotion. 4. In correlational studies, concepts like depression, anxiety, and psychological symptoms were related to resourcefulness negatively. Adaptive functioning, life satisfaction and self achievement had positive correlations to resourcefulness. 5. Studies on comparison between a healthy person and depressive patient or smoker and non-smoker were done. There were coping, depression, symptom, self efficacy, health problem and self-control as comparative concepts. 6. Study subjects consisted of depressive patients in 9 of 18 experimental studies. The majority of studies were done with cognitive-behavioral therapy as an experimental intervention. The most effective treatment was revealed in high resourcefulness group. Since the above findings, resourcefulness research increased since 1980 and mostly non-experimental design for quantitative study were done. In the field of nursing, research about resourcefulness was in an initial stage. It is expected that further research needed to be done. Recommendations on the basis of the present research suggest that it is necessary to replicate studies, develop nursing intervention enhancing resourcefulness and apply it to patients with chronic diseases including cancer.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the newly-developed $Qraypen^{TM}$ (All In One Bio, Korea) system for the diagnosis of early proximal caries by comparing it with the conventional methods of visual inspection and periapical radiography. This study was carried out from July 2015 to April 2016 targeting 32 children aged 7~12 years who visited Y-Dental Clinic for school oral health examinations. Two investigators selected and examined a total of 153 primary molars that had not undergone restorative treatment. Comparisons were carried out between visual inspections, readings of posterior periapical radiography images, and readings of $Qraypen^{TM}$ images. This study revealed that the percentage of interproximal surfaces of primary molar teeth without caries incidence was 83.7% using $Qraypen^{TM}$ imaging and 84.9% using visual inspection and periapical radiography. The differences between the two methods were not statistically significant. Thus, $Qraypen^{TM}$ is expected to be a useful and convenient auxiliary diagnostic device that can facilitate the detection of hidden proximal caries in primary molars.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and substitute possibility of a newly developed flowable composite resins as a luting cement for translucent fiber post. Material & Method: Two kinds of 12 mm translucent fiber Post (D.T. Light-Post (Bisco, USA) and FRC Postec (Ivoclar vivadent, Liechtenstein) was inserted into the teflon mold (7 mm diameter, 9 mm long) and Filtek-Flow (3M ESPE. USA), a light activated flowable composite resin, was polymerized for 60 seconds through the post. Also, the post was cut from the tip to 9 mm, 6 mm, 3 mm, and Filtek-Flow was light cured according to each length. For comparison, 60 seconds light-cured and 24 hours self-cured two dual cured resin cement (Duo-cement (Bisco, USA) and 2 Panavia-F (Kuraray, Japan)) samples were prepared as control group. Also cavities (1 mm in width, 1 mm in depth and 12 mm in length) were prepared using acrylic plate and aluminum bar, and flowable composite resin was flied and light cured by the diffused light from the fiber post's side wall. The degree of polymerization was measured according to the distance from curing light using Vickers' hardness test. Result: Within the limitation of this study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. Vickers' hardness of light cured dual cured resin cement and flowable composite resin decreased from Panavia-F, Filtek-Flow and Duo-cement accordingly (p<0.05). In the dual curing resin cement, light curing performed group showed higher surface hardness value than self cured only group (p<0.05). 2. Surface hardness ratio (light cured through fiber post /directly light cured) of D.T. Light-Post using Filtek-Flow showed about 70% in the 6 mm deep and about 50% in the 12 mm deep FRC Postec showed only 40% of surface hardness ratio. 3. Surface hardness ratio by diffused light from the post's side wall showed about 50% at 6 mm and 9 mm deep, and about 40% at 12 mm deep in D.T. Light-Post. However, FRC Postec showed about 40% at 6 mm deep, and almost no polymerization in 9 mm and 12 mm deep.
Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of slow freezing with vitrification method for cryopreservation of mouse pronuclear stage embryos. Methods: Mouse pronuclear embryos obtained from superovulated mice and classified into 2 groups of slow freezing and vitrification. Slow freezing solution consisted of 1.5 M PROH, 0.1 M sucrose, while vitrification solution consisted of 40% ethylene glycol, 18% Ficoll and 0.5 M sucrose diluted in Dulbecco's phosphate-buffered saline supplemented with 10% SSS. Recovery and survival rates after thawing and development rates to hatching balstocyst stage were compared between two groups. Results: After freezing and thawing, recovery rate of slow freezing group was 93.8%, whereas vitrification group was 66.5% (p<0.01). Survival rate of recovered embryos were similar between two groups as 83.2% in slow freezing and 87.6% in vitrification. Embryo development rates to 2-cell stage after 24 hrs (77.0% vs 59.1%), 4-cell after 48 hrs (72.6% vs 53.3%), blastocyst after 96 hrs (53.1% vs 40.1%) of thawing were significantly higher in vitrification group than those of slow freezing group, respectively. Conclusion: The vitrification method may provide better developmental competence of frozen-thawed embryos than that of slow freezing method for cryopreservation of mouse pronuclear stage embryos.
The purposes of this study were to compare the efficacy of irrigation systems by removing a calcium hydroxide $(Ca(OH)_2)$ paste from the apical third of the root canal and the effect of the patency file. Sixty single rooted human teeth were used in this study. The canals were instrumented by a crown-down manner with .04 taper ProFile to ISO #35. $Ca(OH)_2$ and distilled water were mixed and placed inside the root canals. The teeth were divided into 6 groups according to the root canal irrigation system and the use of patency file as follows: group 1 - conventional method: group 2 - $EndoActivator^{(R)}$: group 3 - $EndoVac^{(R)}$; group 4 - conventional method, patency: group 4 - $EndoActivator^{(R)}$, patency; group 6 - $EndoVac^{(R)}$, patency. All teeth were irrigated with sodium hypochlorite. After the root canal irrigation, the teeth were split in bucco-lingual aspect. Percentage of the root canal surface coverage with residual $Ca(OH)_2$ until 3 mm from working length was analyzed using Image Pro Plus ver. 4.0. Statistical analysis was performed using the One-way ANOVA, t-test and Scheffe's post-hoc test. Conventional groups had significantly more $Ca(OH)_2$ debris than $EndoActivator^{(R)}$, $EndoVac^{(R)}$ groups. There was no significant difference between $EndoActivator^{(R)}$ and $EndoVac^{(R)}$ groups. Groups with patency file showed more effective in removing $Ca(OH)_2$ paste than no patency groups. but. it was no significant difference. This study showed that $EndoActivator^{(R)}$ and $EndoVac^{(R)}$ systems were more effective in removing $Ca(OH)_2$ paste from the apical third of the root canal than conventional method.
