  • Blasting method is used most engineering works for rock excavation. Blasting method is done much to upgrade of operation efficiency, contraction of construction period than other method. But blasting method happens damage by blasting vibration, nose and scattering. Therefore this study examined about effect, characteristic and application of Plasma method. To confirm effect measured vibration, noise and frequency, and analyzed data compare with general blasting.

  • Auditory system is separated to Outer Ear, Middle Ear and Inner Ear, Middle Ear plays an important role as the sound transfer on amplitude. With analysing of Middle Ear, we can understand disease and compare unformal auditory systems. However, the investigation of mechanical modeling and analysis have been reported in a few paper. In this paper, a three dimensional Eardrum model of human ear was developed and analysed applying the general purpose Finite-Element program (Nastran). Vibration patterns of the eardrum obtained from FEM analysis are in agreements with the experimental results using stroboscope.

  • In this paper, the transmission error of a atar type Epicyclic Gear Train (EGT) has been studied. Dynamic analysis has been executes calculate the rotation angle of the input and output shafts at various loads. Transmission Error of EGT has been measured to compare with the analysis results. There are qualitative similarity between the experimental and analytical results.

  • Nowadays, the issue of maritime safety is an extremely important issue in the maritime industry and Human' Stress is one of the biggest causes of maritime accidents. The purpose of this study was to research and compare the risk marine accidents analysis methods and find the methods which used to analysis data of the human' stress and obtained the relationship between it and the risk of maritime accidents.

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to compare the densities of asphalt pavements measured both in the field and in the laboratory, and also to evaluate the applicability of field density measuring equipment, such as the pavement quality indicator (PQI), by using statistical analysis. METHODS : For the statistical analysis of the density measured from asphalt pavement, student t-tests and a coefficient of correlation are investigated. In order to compare the measured densities, two test sections are prepared, with a base layer and an intermediate layer constructed. Each test section consists of 9 smaller sections. During construction, the field densities are measured for both layers (base and intermediate) in each section. Core samples are extracted from similar regions in each section, and moved to the laboratory for density measurements. All the measured densities from both the field and laboratory observations are analyzed using the selected statistical analysis methods. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION : Based on an analysis of measured densities, analysis using a correlation coefficient is found to be more accurate than analysis using a student t-test. The correlation coefficient (R) between the field density and the core density is found to be very low with a confidence interval less than 0.5. This may be the result of inappropriate calibration of the measuring equipment. Additionally, the correlation coefficient for the base layer is higher than for the intermediate layer. Finally, we observe that prior to using the density measuring equipment in the field, a calibration process should be performed to ensure the reliability of measured field densities.

갑상선 기능항진증 환자의 욕구구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manifest Needs of the Patient with Hyperthyroidism)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the needs among the patients of hyperthyroid, malignant tumor and normal adult to clarify the level of the need for the patient of hyperthyroid. We analysed relationships between their personal characteristics and their needs to contribute comprehensive nursing care for the patient of hyperthyroid. The . subjects were chosen from 60 persons who visited for general physical examination at Ewha Woman's University Medical Center., 72 patients having diagnosis with hyperthyroidism, and 72 patients admitted with malignant tumors at atomic neuclear medical center. The data was collected from September 1 to December 31, 1980, and the study population was selected by means of convenience sampling. The data was analysed by means of the standard deviation and analysis of variance. The results were as follows: 1. In the patients having hyperthyroid, male to female ratio was 1 :13.5, and incidence was peak at the age groups of 20 to 40. 2. In compare with the needs among 3 groups, there are significant relationships: the patient of cancer has shown the highest score with Achievement, Aggression and Dominance, the patient of hyperthyroid shown higher and the normal adult shown low score. .In the need related with sex, there is significant relationship: the normal adult has shown highest score, the patient having hyperthyroid shown the higher score and the patient of cancer shown the low score. 3. Tn compare with Whang's Edward personal preference schedule, the Hyperthyroidism shown relatively higher needs for aggression, dominance, exhibitionism and sex.

Comparison of the Muscle Activities of Upper Trapezius and Middle Deltoid between Subjects with and without Elevation of Shoulder Girdle during Arm Elevation

  • Purpose: Muscle imbalance between upper trapezius (UT) and serratus anterior (SA) during arm elevation is a factor causing shoulder dysfunction. However, there is no study to compare the muscle activities of the UT and middle deltoid (MD). The purpose of this study was to compare the muscle activities of the UT and MD between with and without elevation of shoulder girdle (ESG) during shoulder abduction. Methods: The subjects without (control group=9) or with (ESG group=8) participated in this study. The muscle activities of the UT and MD were measured using a electromyography during $90^{\circ}$ shoulder abducted position in both group. The data in middle of 3-second of the 5-second periods were used. The mean value of three trials was used in the data analysis. For each muscle, independent t-tests were performed to compare for group differences. Results: The muscle activity of UT was significantly greater in ESG group, compared to that of the control group (p<0.05). The muscle activity of MD was significantly smaller in ESG group, compared to that of the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: These findings showed that low muscle activation of MD as well as SA may contribute to hyperactivity of UT during arm elevation.

Effect of 12-week Exercise Programs for Posture Correction on Standing Postural Alignment in Elderly Women

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of different 12-week exercise programs for posture correction on postural alignment in elderly women. Method: The study included 36 elderly women who were randomly divided into 3 groups: Group A (core exercise, n=12), Group B (combined exercise, n=12), and Group C (Pilates exercise, n=12). Postural alignment was measured using 6 variables in frontal and sagittal planes. Two-way mixed analysis of variance was used to compare the effect of exercise program types on postural alignment and a paired t-test was used to compare differences in postural alignment after exercise. Results: The core exercise group showed statistically significant improvement (p<.05) in multiple upper and lower body postural alignment measurements. The combined exercise and Pilates exercise groups showed statistically significant improvement (p<.05) in upper body measurements alone. Conclusion: Core exercise, combined exercise, and Pilates exercise improved postural alignment in elderly woman through improvement in muscle strength and ligament flexibility around the spine and pelvis.

하이브리드형 스텝모터의 모델링 및 디텐트 토크 고조파 분석 (Modeling and Detent Torque Hormonic Analysis of Hybrid Type Step Motor)

  • 본 논문은 4상과5상 하이브리드형 스텝모터의 모델링, 특성해석 및 디텐트 토크에 대한 고조파 저감을 대상으로 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 기계적인 모델링을 도출하였으며 자계해석을 위해서 퍼미언스법을 이용하였다. 이러한 해석 결과 본 모델에 대한 디텐트 토크를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 두 모델 구조에 대한 상차의 특성해석 비교를 통하여, 본 모델에 대한 디텐트 토크를 유도해 낼 수 있었다. 이때 5상 스텝모터는 4상 스텝모터에 비하여 디텐트 토크의 감소와 스텝응답이 개선됨을 알 수 있었다. 해석결과 퍼미언스분포의 크기는 평균토크의 발생에 영향을 미치며, 고조파성분의 크기가 토크 리플의 크기를 발생함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Objective : This study was to compare antioxidant activity and HPLC pattern analysis from 4 species of changpo(ch$\={a}$ngp$\'{u}$). Methods : To compare the antioxidant activity and HPLC pattern analysis from the 4 species of changpo, we performed the in vitro anti-oxidative activity assays and HPLC analysis from 70% ethanol extracts of Acorus gramineus Sol. (=AG), A. tatarinowii Schott (=AT), A. calamus L. (=AC) and Anemone altaica Fisch. ex C.A.Mey (=AA) taken in the herbal medicine market of Korea. Results : AG has the most effective anti-oxidative activity among 4 species of changpo. As the HPLC pattern analysis, AT was detected the unknown peak at retention time 14.9 min whereas AG was not showed any peak at the same retention time. These results suggest that AG could be used rather than AT when it need to be prescribed as anti-oxidative medicine. Conclusions : This result can be used as the basic data contributing to the stability of AG according to an appropriate clinical application.
