This study examined the growth characteristics and competitive advantages of Korea's tourism industry compared to other Northeast Asian countries using the Balassa Indices and Shift-Share method. The analysis results showed that the growth of Korea's tourism industry over the past decade was due mainly to external factors, such as the growth of the global economy and the expansion of the tourism sector, while the role of growth momentum of the tourism industry itself was insignificant. Employment in Korea's tourism industry has shown relatively higher increasing rates compared to the rates of the total amount of sales and value-adding. This appears to be caused by the decreased absorption of the labor force in the tourism industry due to the overall capacity of job creation. (Ed note: This sentence was unclear. Please check the edits.)The competitive advantage of Korea's tourism industry has been strengthened over the past decade, but it is still inferior to other countries. The travel account balance showed that the economic size of the Chinese tourism sector had grown rapidly over the past decade, but the competitive advantage of the sector has been weakened. On the other hand, the economic size of the Japanese tourism sector has shown sluggish growth, while its competitive advantage has been strengthened significantly.

The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics and industrial structure and to present a future vision through analysis of industrial agglomeration, growth, and industrial efficiency targeting the Chungnam display industry nurtured by regional industrial policies since 2002. The industrial scale and aggregate status were analyzed through the business scale quotient and location quotient, and the growth and pace of structural change in the industry were analyzed through the industrial growth rate and change of industrial structure. Analysis results found the display industry shows its solid status based on industrial agglomeration. The RLQ, added value ratio, and employment coefficient have a relatively high comparative advantage. However, the growth rate has declined, and the pace of structural change has become lower. The regional competitiveness has been deteriorating. It is necessary to develop strategies to help the industry evolve into a convergence display industry to secure competitiveness by forming value chains. The regional industrial policy 'Regional Innovation Growth Plan' should be utilized to foster local industries that consider the regional characteristics and development directions and to promote the shared growth of related subsidiary industries through fostering specialized complexes for materials, parts, and equipment.

The emission of microwave sulfur lamp is mainly composed of visible light. This lamp producing little infrared radiation, has high light efficiency, long lifespan and less power consumption. In comparison with xenon lamp, growing under sulfur lamp apparently postponed jointing, increased the number of tillers, accelerated root growth of wheat. Relatively, xenon lamp evidently promoted heading and grain maturation. The development characteristics of wheat plant under sulfur lamp were more similar with that in natural condition.

The far eastern catfish (Silurus asotus) growth hormone (GH) gene was cloned and characterized. The complete nucleotide sequences of genomic GH gene sequences as well as a catfish GH cDNA were obtained by RT-PCR and gene filter screening. The GH cDNA and genomic gene span 1.0 and 1.8 kb from the start codon to the polyadenylation signal, respectively. Both on cDNA and gDNA GH genes, the sequence polymorphism was detected including various silence mutations. The genomic GH gene comprised of only four exons and three introns, which was novel type of fish GH gene structure. The evolutionary relation of the catfish GH gene was inferred based on the comparative phylogenic analysis using the gene structures and sequences.

This paper compares the English language programs of two maritime institutes in very different parts of the world, South Korea and Belgium. It will show that although both institutes comply with the minimum standard set by the STCW Code issued by the IMO, course contents and requirements can vary greatly. Method of class delivery, choice of learning tools and testing will be examined to illustrate some of these differences. This paper will show that in order to train new seafarers in the best possible way that will fulfill the IMO mandate of Safer Shipping and Cleaner Oceans, continual review and development of course curriculum should be an ongoing process that focusing on encouraging cadets to communicate in a targeted, efficient and professional way within a nautical context. This paper will show by comparison the huge potential that the Korean Maritime English program has for positive change and growth.

Nowadays, economic growth of China has become an important issue. Due to the demographic position and the market size, China-Korea trade relationship has grown tremendously and significantly. The Chinese relationship with the Korean industry has considerably increased over the years. Various trade competitiveness indices such as TSI, MRCAI, and IITI have been applied to measure the competitive advantage and the complementary of market structure between these two countries. For this purpose, the dataset from the year 2000 to 2008 provided by KITA were used. The MRCAI result show that Korea has specialized in the product of semiconductor, communication equipment, precision machine, automobile, and nonferrous metal. The intra-industry trade level of Korean manufacturing industry is rising in line with the dominance of vertical intra-industry trade(VIIT) trend.

Sea-ports in Northern Vietnam have experienced a rapid growth of container throughput in recent years. To accompany with such development, huge investment also has been performed to enhance not only local port capacity but also the regional logistics system. Container terminals in Northern Vietnam locate centrally along Cam river of Haiphong city, leaving 2 others in Quang Ninh province. Five out of totally 11 container terminals in the area are under the control of Vinalines - a national corporation in field of maritime industry. In this paper, those terminals are classified in terms of location and ownership. The volume of container throughput and facilities of all container terminals in Northern Vietnam from 2005 to 2014 are recorded in order to compare the performance of groups. A Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is then applied to evaluate the relative efficiency of such terminals. Before conclusion, number of suggestions will be contributed to related parties.

The ComparativThe comperisons of Kintoki bean lectin (KBL) and Taro tuber lectin (TTL) which have been studied in our laboratory are summerized. The recoveries of pure lectins are 0.12% and 0.014%, respectively. They seems to have slight differences in isoelectric points(pH) ; 5.19~5.67 for KBL and 6.41~7.42 for TTL. The minimum concentrations of HA are $2.8\mu\textrm{g}/ml\;and\;21.6\mu\textrm{g}/ml$. The enzymatic modification on HA, growth inhibition, inhibition of nutritional absorption and binding capacities (FITC, $^3H$) of KBL are demonstrated to be much greater than those of TTL.

Major companies in USA, Europe and Japan as well as even China and Russia put more overseas investment in Asian regions than before, while northeast Asian regional trade gets more attractive and important under the influence of China's super-speed economic growth. Possibly, it is expected that such ever-increasing gravity of regional trade will help spotlight the importance of local trade route considerably. In particular, northeast Asian region's economic briskness and step-up in international economic partnerships will expectedly contribute to much boosting up the quantity of goods transported via local coasting route. Thus, it is advisable that both Busan New port specialize in dealing with freights via East Sea rim, while Gwangyang port specialize in dealing with freights via Yellow Sea rim. Furthermore, it is required that both ports share some of their own roles as hub port and hub & spoke port respectively, so that both of them can be devoted to stepping up into northeast Asian hub ports.

The purpose of this study was to present the effective activation of apparel CAD system and for this, the investigation of actual condition of CAD using companies and comparative inspection with the advanced study were carefully considered. The results were as follows : 1. The investigation result of the system using enterprises is that the direct effect from the operation of the CAD system after its introduction was the promptness, ad the indirect effect of it was the growth of operation level and operating reliance. 2. The problem originated from the system was the uncertainty of employer effectiveness and the financing source for it when introduced, and the lack of consciousness of it when operated. 3. The using level in pattern manufacturing function was lower than that in grading and marking. Therefore, as the full automation in CAD system is a part of CIM construction and the direction to which apparel companies should go, a firmly connected system between management & the persons in charge in apparel companies, facility supplying companies, universities & other educational institutes, and the Government should be duly constructed first of all n order to achieve this aim.
