An Empirical Study on the Churning Behavior through Bayesian Network Classifier and Business Process Modeling (베이지안 네트워크 분류와 비즈니스 프로세스 모델링을 통한 신용카드 회원 이탈에 관한 연구)

  • 국내에서 신용카드는 대표적인 지불 수단으로 정착되었으며 신용카드의 사용자와 신용카드의 발급 매수는 이미 포화상태에 도달해 있다. 이 같은 양적 성장은 정부의 신용카드 활성화 정책과 더불어 신용카드사 간의 과당 경쟁의 영향에 기인하고 있다. 신용차드의 사용층은 대부분의 성인 남녀로 확대되었으며, 특히 복수의 신용카드 소지자를 대상으로 자사가 발급한 신용차드를 사용하게 하기 위한 신용카드사 간의 경쟁이 치열한 상황이다. 이에 따라 신용카드사들이 경쟁사의 카드사용 회원을 자사의 회원으로 확보하는 젓이 불가피하며 마찬가지로 사용 중인 자사의 회원이 경쟁사로 이동하지 않도록 사전에 이탈 징후를 포착하여 유지 캠페인을 수행하는 것이 신용카드사 마케팅의 주요 활동이 되었다. 선행연구에서는 신용카드 회원의 이탈과 관련하여 다양한 데이터마이닝 기법을 이용한 이탈의 특성 분류 연구가 진행되었다. 본 연구는 회원 이탈에 영향을 주는 요인을 효과적으로 발견하기 위한 방법으로 베이지안 네트워크(Bayesian Network)를 활용한다. 특히, 베이지안 네트워크의 일종인 일반 베이지안 네트워크(General Bayesian Network)를 이용하여 회원의 이탈요인에 영향을 주는 요인들의 집합인 마코프 블랭킷(Makov Blanket)을 도출한다. 한편, 마코프 블랭킷에 포함된 변수를 이용해 민감도 분석을 수행하여 영향이 큰 요인을 찾아내고 이를 비즈니스 프로세스에 적용하여 실무적인 의의를 실증하고자 한다.

Reservoir Water Level Forecasting Using Machine Learning Models (기계학습모델을 이용한 저수지 수위 예측)

  • This study investigates the efficiencies of machine learning models, including artificial neural network (ANN), generalized regression neural network (GRNN), adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and random forest (RF), for reservoir water level forecasting in the Chungju Dam, South Korea. The models' efficiencies are assessed based on model efficiency indices and graphical comparison. The forecasting results of the models are dependent on lead times and the combination of input variables. For lead time t = 1 day, ANFIS1 and ANN6 models yield superior forecasting results to RF6 and GRNN6 models. For lead time t = 5 days, ANN1 and RF6 models produce better forecasting results than ANFIS1 and GRNN3 models. For lead time t = 10 days, ANN3 and RF1 models perform better than ANFIS3 and GRNN3 models. It is found that ANN model yields the best performance for all lead times, in terms of model efficiency and graphical comparison. These results indicate that the optimal combination of input variables and forecasting models depending on lead times should be applied in reservoir water level forecasting, instead of the single combination of input variables and forecasting models for all lead times.

  • ART (Adaptive Resonance Theory [1]) neural network and its variations perform non-hierarchical clustering by unsupervised learning. We propose a scheme "arboART" for hierarchical clustering by using several ART1.5-SSS networks. It classifies multidimensional vectors as a cluster tree, and finds features of clusters. The Basic idea of arboART is to use the prototype formed in an ART network as an input to other ART network that has looser distance criteria (Ishihara, et al., [2,3]). By sending prototype vectors made by ART to one after another, many small categories are combined into larger and more generalized categories. We can draw a dendrogram using classification records of sample and categories. We have confirmed its ability using standard test data commonly used in pattern recognition community. The clustering result is better than traditional computing methods, on separation of outliers, smaller error (diameter) of clusters and causes no chaining. This methodology is applied to Kansei evaluation experiment data analysis.

A Study on the Subjective Happiness and Social Capital (사회적 자본과 주관적 행복감에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between subjective happiness and social capital. The data for the analysis were collected via the questionnaire survey method, from October 29 to November 10, 2013. The sample consisted of 338 residents, living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do province. Social capital is composed of the social network, social trust and social norms. The social network is composed of the satisfaction of one's social relations, and the degree of social interaction. Social trust is composed of the trust in ones's neighbors and the local community. Social norms are composed of reciprocity, participation and a sense of belonging and solidarity. The findings of this study were as follows: 1) The average for subjective happiness was 3.82 points, over neutral. In particular, the subjective happiness of people over 50 years old was highest. 2) The social network, social trust, and social norms were related to the subjective happiness.

  • High speed all optical network is a viable option to satisfy the exponential growth of internet usage in the recent years. Optical networks offer very high bit rates and, by employing technologies like internet protocol over wavelength division multiplexing(IP-over-WDM), these high bit rates can be effectively utilized. However, failure of a network component, carrying such high speed data traffic can result in enormous loss of data in a few seconds and persistence of a failure can severely degrade the performance of the entire network. Designing IP-over-WDM networks, which can withstand failures, has been subject of considerable interest in the research community recently. Most of the research is focused on the failure of optical links in the network. This paper addresses the problem of designing IP-over-WDM networks that do not suffer service degradation in case of a single link failure. The paper proposes an approach based on the framework provided by a recent paper by M. Kurant and P. Thiran. The proposed approach can be used to design large survivable IP-over-WDM networks.

  • Underwater sensor network has attracted more and more attention from the networking research community recently. Most of traditional studies focus on the topology with a single gateway. Underwater sensor network consists of a variable number of sensors and multi-gateway to ensure the reliability of the network. In this paper, we propose a new MAC protocol that can reduce collisions among sensor nodes and improve QoS(Quality of Service) for underwater sensor network with multi-gateway. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme through simulation. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing MAC protocol.

  • There are many recommendation systems offer an effort to get better preciseness the information to the users. In order to further improve more accuracy, the social network analysis method which is used to analyze data to community detection in social networks was introduced in the recommendation system and the result shows this method is improving more accuracy. In this paper, we propose a movie recommendation system using social network analysis and normalized discounted cumulative gain with the best accuracy. To estimate the performance, the collaborative filtering using the k nearest neighbor method, the social network analysis with collaborative filtering method and the proposed method are used to evaluate the MovieLens data. The performance outputs show that the proposed method get better the accuracy of the movie recommendation system than any other methods used in this experiment.

  • The purpose of this study, decision factors about network characteristics among Social Welfare service organizations and individuals are defined to obtain proper empirical bases for building systematic human service network in the local community bases. Secondly The result about the analysis whether the level factor of the organizational members and organizations affect positively is summarized as follows.it is shown that the number of meeting, organizational type, the prior experience of networking affect positively.

Research trends related to childhood and adolescent cancer survivors in South Korea using word co-occurrence network analysis

  • Purpose: This study analyzed research trends related to childhood and adolescent cancer survivors (CACS) using word co-occurrence network analysis on studies registered in the Korean Citation Index (KCI). Methods: This word co-occurrence network analysis study explored major research trends by constructing a network based on relationships between keywords (semantic morphemes) in the abstracts of published articles. Research articles published in the KCI over the past 10 years were collected using the Biblio Data Collector tool included in the NetMiner Program (version 4), using "cancer survivors", "adolescent", and "child" as the main search terms. After pre-processing, analyses were conducted on centrality (degree and eigenvector), cohesion (community), and topic modeling. Results: For centrality, the top 10 keywords included "treatment", "factor", "intervention", "group", "radiotherapy", "health", "risk", "measurement", "outcome", and "quality of life". In terms of cohesion and topic analysis, three categories were identified as the major research trends: "treatment and complications", "adaptation and support needs", and "management and quality of life". Conclusion: The keywords from the three main categories reflected interdisciplinary identification. Many studies on adaptation and support needs were identified in our analysis of nursing literature. Further research on managing and evaluating the quality of life among CACS must also be conducted.

Study of structural analysis on formulas from 『Onbyungjobyun』 using network analysis (네트워크 분석법을 이용한 『온병조변』 처방의 구조적 분석 연구)

  • Objective : This study aims to diversify interpretation of formulas from "Onbyungjobyun" by analyzing various formulas from "Onbyungjobyun" as basic formulas. Method : This study found herbal communities of combination by analyzing herbal combinations based on network analysis of formulas from "Onbyungjobyun", and has analyzed each community of combination as basic formulas. Result : The results of network analysis showed a total of 3 herbal communities of combination; first was medicinal herbs from Eungyo-san(銀翹散), Jeungaek-tang(增液湯), Bokmaek-tang(復脈湯), Gyeji-tang(桂枝湯), Sogeonjung-tang (小建中湯) series; second was medicinal herbs from Angungwoohwang-hwan(安宮牛黃丸); third was medicinal herbs from Baekho-tang(白虎湯), Jaseol-dan(紫雪丹), Sayeok-tang(四逆湯) series. Conclusion : The formulas from "Onbyungjobyun" are consisted of herbal communities of combination; that treat warm-heat pathogen and supplies yin essence or yang qi; treat reverse transmission to the pericardium(逆傳心包); and treat heat in the qi phase in Onbyeong and cold-dampness in the middle energizer.
