This paper is to survey the cooperation between the school and the community with respect to the degree of share of their facilities. The hypothesis of this paper is that the share of facilities between the school and the community is helpful for the two. That is, the community, using the school facilities, can educate to upgrade its people to higher social level. The school, using the community facilities, can compensate insufficient school facilities and facilitate student learnings. This paper employed both a literature survey and a case study approach explained by the case of Seong Dong Gu and its schools. This paper argued that the share of the facilities between the school and the community is needed to facilitate student learnings and to upgrade community people to higher level. Thus, government should encourage the cooperation between the two. This paper found that the school can use other schools' facilities, camping facilities, various types of private institute, community libraries, social welfare centers, athlentic facilities, and park facilities in the community. Most of the facilities are rested during school hours and are vacant more or less after school hours, so that there are still room for share the facilities with the students. This paper found that the community can easily use school facilities for life-long education programs, house-wife classes, athlentic programs for daily life, recreation classes for community people because the school is located in the center of the community. These programs using school facilities can encourage to upgrade community persons' social levels. However, this paper found that the degree of community use is insufficient to fulfil the school facilities. Only a few percent of the school class rooms and other facilities are used by the community. Therefore this paper asserted that community education programs using school facilities should be expanded. This paper recommended, based on the findings, that governments should encourage the cooperation between the school and the community to facilitate student's learnings and to upgrade community people to higher level. Also it recommended that the school should share more community facilities and that the community should share more school facilities.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the present use and the needs for community facilities in apartment housing complex. Eight apartment housing complexes containing more than 500 units which constructed after 2000 were selected for this study. Three hundred and fifty three residents of apartment housing were surveyed to identify their needs and use of community facilities. The main findings of this study are as following; The most frequently used community facilities in apartment housing were outdoor rest area, exercise facilities, and park and playground. Also, the highly required community facilities were outdoor rest area, exercise facilities, and park and playground. Especially, most of the respondents showed the high level of need for the exercise facilities such as swimming pool, fitness center, and sauna.
As almost community facilities in korean rural village have being showed signs of decrepitude, and have a lot of problems on scale and function, it hasn't made full use of almost community facilities. To resolve these problems, it is time to make different plan considered of elements, scale and function in community facilities. In this study, after being researched the present condition and interviewed local residents on target 25 administrative districts, it was sought diverse problems about community facilities and researched satisfaction measurement, activity of local residents. With Being based on this, we also drove from essential element about community facilities in korean rural village and sorted problems of community facilities as general disposition-structure-outdoor facilities-behavioral use. Therefore, it was applied to study area and ascertained the existence of problem. Thus, we found out the improving way for appropriate community facilities in korean rural village. It will be useful to make different plan for community facilities in korean rural village.
This paper is to find out a possibility that, adapting article 81 of regional finacing law, the community develops community facilities such as gymnagiums, swimming pools, and parking facilities in school site. The study requires an agreement about managements between the mayor and the superintendent of education. This paper also surveys community's needs with respect to use of school facilities before and after class, willingness to pay for the school use, and use of school facilities by private institutions. This paper adopts two experimental case studies to find a feasibility of community building construction in school sites. It also adopts dscriptive analysis of the statistics to find out the degree of willingness to use by community people. It is found, first, that regional finacing law permits community facilities' development in school sites and an agreement between the mayor and the superintendent of education about usage and profits should be made by the rate of construction fee and land cost. The second is that 65.8% of community people want to use school facilities such as gymnasium and school ground. And favorite series of physical exercise is swimming, baminton, tennis in order. The third is that 66.4% of community people have willingness to pay for the use of school facilities. The fourth is that school facilities such as class room, special class room, and computer room can be used by private institutions. 75% of community people agree to use school facilities by the private institutions. Favorite series on these are classes for reviewing the lessons, language classes, classes for playing musical instruments in order.
The purpose of this study was to suggest improvements to the related regulations of community facilities for community activation by analyzing the current situations and problems of the related regulations of community facilities in apartment housing complexes. To provide the improvement, we took contents analysis about community facilities for activation of the community. We interviewed a national civil servant, a local civil servant and an employee at Daiwa house in Japan, and conducted a field survey of community facilities in Japan during July 20-23, 2010. The main findings of this study were as following; there were problems that the related regulations of community facilities didn't reflect the characteristics of residents and community. Therefore, it was necessary to improve the related regulations to reflect the characteristics of residents and community. So the current standards were revised by local government ordinance. Community centers were not installed in each housing complex, but were installed to share with several housing complexes. Regional community centers are needed for activation of regional communities as with the Baycore Civil center.
The trend toward more welfare living because of more leisure time has influenced the popularity of the community facilities in apartment housing. According to the residents' increasing interests for well-being life the changes and developments of the community facilities have been required in these days. The purpose of this research is to study these required changes and developments by analyzing the resident's using behavior of community facilities in apartment housing focusing on the educational and cultural facilities. For this purpose, this research intends to examine the existing conditions and problems of educational and cultural community facilities in apartment housing and to analyze the residents' using patterns such as frequency, preference and satisfaction and to comprehend the additional needs and requirements of the residents. The conclusions and suggestions of this research can be a basic data for the architects to design a resident-oriented educational and cultural community facilities.
The purpose of this study was exploring perceptions of people in community towards community use and multiple-use of special school facilities and providing implications for connecting school to the communities. Survey was conducted to special education teachers, parents of children receiving special education, and local residents. Total 5,702 people participated in this study and general finds were as following: (1) All 3 groups of study participants reported that there was a generally positive perception of special schools within the community, however, at the same time, almost quarter of parents having children with disabilities reported negative perceptions of special schools in the community; (2) among the special school facilities, sports facilities appeared to be the most open to the community and difficulties related to the community-open of school facilities included facility management and safety issues, and inteference with students' school activities; (3) facilities suitable for the multi-use of special schools facilities included sports facilities, cultural and creative spaces, and commercial areas, and those facilities could be open to community during non-class hours such as after-school, weekends, and vacations. Based on the results from survey, implications for planning, designing, and implementing multi-use facilities of special schools were provided.

This study examined the current conditions of the community facilities constructed by demonstration project for rural elderly that were promoted for the last two years by the ministry of agriculture, food and rural affairs. The type of community facilities are community living home, community food service facility and small bath house. And it was accomplished satisfaction survey for analyzing the effects of demonstration project focused on inhabitants and users of community facilities constructed by demonstration project. The results are as follows. First, The satisfaction index of community facilities was evaluated high level in generally. Second, Inhabitants and users of facilities were presented high level satisfaction in humanity sector, especially. Third, It should be to establish maintenance and management plan such as supporting of linkage program and operation cost for secure the sustainability. Consequently, the implementation of community facilities demonstration project to improve the living conditions of rural elderly is entirely appropriate. The results of this study were considered to promoting demonstration project for improving quality of the facilities and securing effectiveness of the project.
Rural villages have many problems such as the collapse of rural village communities with continued over-depopulation and aging, reduced functions of towns and villages, deteriorated services with changes in the structure of settlement class and decreased use of the facilities. they also have difficulties in maintenance in spite of the increase of the roles of rural village community facilities. Various plans for the utilization of community facilities to promote the vitality of rural villages and the revitalization of communities have been needed. Thus, this study aimed to offer basic data to seek for future plans to utilize community facilities and reconstruct communities through an analysis of the current uses of energy and community facilities in rural villages. The results indicated that the consumption of petroleum was highest in mountain villages at an average of 187,475 won/month($137{\ell}$), followed by fishing villages at an average of 144,142 won/month($104{\ell}$) and rural villages at an average of 126,070 won/month($93{\ell}$). The rate of utilization of community facilities was reversely highest in rural villages at 84.3%, followed by fishing villages at 61.1% and mountain villages at 40.7%. This research also found that households saved energy when they used community facilities and areas with a high rate of utilization of community facilities at a lower average temperature in winter. It saved approximately 33% energy compared to other areas. Finally, efficient and economical methods for community facilities in villages to be newly developed and the remodeling of existing facilities should been needed in the future to contribute to reconstructing rural village communities that face a crisis of maintenance or abolition.
