  • The Metaverse is getting popular due to the demands for digital transformation and non-contact communication platforms. A conversation system which facilitates communication is not widely applied yet in Metaverse. In this work, we present a method that revises primitive dialogue state using circumstance information from Metaverse. The presented model that leverages both dialogue and circumstance information consists of a dialogue state tracking module and a circumstance state tracking module. In the model, a dialogue state is updated with an algorithm which compares a dialogue state and a circumstance state. As a conversation that reaffirms user intent is added, a wrong dialogue state can be revised and the accuracy of a conversation system can be improved.

  • This study reviews usability of PC communication softwares with different dialogue types of user interface. Usability test was conducted to evaluate usability of 3 PC communition softwares which are currently utilized in Korea. Learnability was adopted as an index of usability evaluation, so learning time, testing time and scores were measured as dependent variables. It is suggested that softwares with mixing dialogue type(menu, icon, command) which were implemented in window systems environment were not superior to that with command dialogue type.

  • Purpose: Effective communication is an essential aspect of nursing care. This qualitative study was performed to analyze nurse-patient conversations about medication. Method: The nurse-patient dialogue was collected by video tape recording during the nurse's duty time in an internal medicine ward. One hundred seventy-eight episodes were extracted from the conversation. Using conversational analysis, the functional phases and patterns of dialogue sequence pertaining to medication were analyzed. Results: Conversations about medication were very brief dialogues, so 68.8% of the dialogue had a duration of less than 20 seconds. However, it was a systematic and comprehensive dialogue which had structures and sequential dialogue patterns. Four functional phases were explored. greeting, identifying the patient, medicating, finishing. The medicating phase was essential, in which the nurse gave the drug to the patient and provided information initiated by the nurse simultaneously. The patterns of the dialogue sequence represented were the nurse provided information first, and then, patients responded to the nurse as accepting, rejecting, raising an objection, or asking again later. Conclusion: As the results of this study show, a nurse's role is important as an educator. For effective conversation about medication, the development of an educational program should be considered, which includes knowledge about medication and communication skills.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the opportunities of close emotional support and communication provided by child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful to the three subjects of early childhood education, children, teacher, and parents, and provide implications about how to utilize child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities in the field of education properly. According to the findings, first, to children, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as asecret time between them and their teacher, time that their teacher pays keen attention to them, and time to enhance confidence. Second, to teachers, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as aspecial time to be with children, time to understand children, and time to reflect on their educational process and figure out proper teaching or supporting methods. Third, to parents, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful in a way in which they can understand moreabout their children and is a meaningful time to plan and provide proper care upon their children's wishes or needs.

  • In modern society, the organization of the educational process plays an important role in education. Traditionally, it is through communication and dialogue between the teacher and the student that professional competence is acquired. As society develops, the demand in the global labor market changes and the requirements and criteria for specialists increase. Therefore, a new approach to managing the pedagogical interaction between a teacher and a student in the process of education in a higher educational institution allows a positive impact on the system of training specialists and opens up new prospects for the formation of competitive specialists. The issue of the quality of education is a key one and is covered in the documents regulating the process of educational activities. Also an important problem today is the transition to qualitatively new and innovative systems of training specialists and the departure from outdated models of managing pedagogical interaction in higher education institutions. The process of managing the pedagogical interaction between a teacher and a student is one of the most important for studying in the context of higher education. Thus, the main task of the study is to analyze the role of communication and dialogue during studies in higher education. As a result of the study, current trends and prerequisites for communication and dialogue tools during studies in higher education

  • Since robots have been used widely recently, research about human-robot communication is in process actively. Typically, natural language processing or gesture generation have been applied to human-robot interaction. However, existing methods for communication among robot and human have their limits in performing only static communication, thus the method for more natural and realistic interaction is required. In this paper, an emotional gesture based dialogue management system is proposed for sophisticated human-robot communication. The proposed system performs communication by using the Bayesian networks and pattern matching, and generates emotional gestures of robots in real-time while the user communicates with the robot. Through emotional gestures robot can communicate the user more efficiently also realistically. We used behavior networks as the gesture generation method to deal with dialogue situations which change dynamically. Finally, we designed a usability test to confirm the usefulness of the proposed system by comparing with the existing dialogue system.

  • In today's era of digital technologies, the problem of religious communication in the cyberspace is being actualized, since the globality and accessibility of the WWW makes it one of the most effective and promising channels for transmitting various kinds of messages, including those of a religious nature. Today, religious organizations and movements pay the closest attention to the virtual media space, not only using it to attract new followers, but also for religious PR, image-making and branding, informing the world about themselves through news from the life of the organization and its followers. An equally important form of electronic communication in the online sphere is currently the interaction of various religious movements and religious cultures in general, or the dialogue of confessions in particular. Research in the digital space makes it possible to identify important trends in religious spheres based on the analysis of the flow of information on the Internet, to demonstrate the specifics of individual media outlets and the consequences of their activities for interreligious dialogue, to study the role of the Internet in changing religious beliefs, the possibility of changing religious identity, retrospective development of religious enlightenment at the turn of the century, to determine the vectors of possible interreligious interaction and discuss the role of digital technologies in the work of religious structures, to state the need to continue an active dialogue between representatives of religious movements, to hold expert seminars on interreligious dialogue on a regular basis, and to record the risks generated by the digital space. Thus, the coronavirus pandemic served as a background and context, a litmus test and a catalyst for accelerating and intensifying interreligious, interfaith dialogue and dialogue between religious organizations and society.

  • In this study, the creation of emotional dialogue was investigated within the process of developing a robot's natural language understanding and emotional dialogue processing. Unlike an English-based dataset, which is the mainstay of natural language processing, the Korean-based dataset has several shortcomings. Therefore, in a situation where the Korean language base is insufficient, the Korean dataset should be dealt with in detail, and in particular, the unique characteristics of the language should be considered. Hence, the first step is to base this study on a specific Korean dataset consisting of conversations on emotional topics. Subsequently, a model was built that learns to extract the continuous dialogue features from a pre-trained language model to generate sentences while maintaining the context of the dialogue. To validate the model, a chatbot system was implemented and meaningful results were obtained by collecting the external subjects and conducting experiments. As a result, the proposed model was influenced by the dataset in which the conversation topic was consultation, to facilitate free and emotional communication with users as if they were consulting with a chatbot. The results were analyzed to identify and explain the advantages and disadvantages of the current model. Finally, as a necessary element to reach the aforementioned ultimate research goal, a discussion is presented on the areas for future studies.

  • This study attempt to explore relation between parents-adolescent communication and family resilience objects to university students. For this, we study a difference of parents-adolescent communication and subfactors of family resilience according to demographic characteristics, and a relation between parents-adolescent communication and sub-factors of family resilience. In difference of parents-adolescent communication results of analysis are as follows. Dialogue time with father, age, and dialogue time with mother are significant. Also, in difference of between sub-factors of family resilience according to demographic characteristics, the more monthly income of family, the longer time of dialogue with parents, family resilience is high.
