공회전시 연소의 사이클 변화 모델링 및 확인실험 (Modeling and its Experimental Validation on Cycle Variability of Combustion at Idle Operation)

  • The engine speed fluctuation at idle operation mainly comes from cyclic variation of combustion in SI engine. In the present study, engineering model that is representing the cyclic variation of combustion was proposed for the sub-model of the engine cycle simulation. From the observed behaviors of the mass burn rates, probability density functions for the parameters of Wiebe function were defined. The mass burn rate of each cycle is obtained by Monte Cralo perturbation method with the probability function. The simulation results shows that trends of cylinder pressure variation and imep distribution follow up with those of experimental results at idle condition.

연소배기 가스의 계측을 위한 다이오드 레이저 센서 (Diode-Laser Absorption Sensors for measurement of combustion Gas)

  • This work forcus on the development of gas sensor that measure the concentrations of exhaust gas using diode laser, Each diode laser for exhaust gas measurement is set to work at near-IR using both DA and WMS methods. Also use of fiber-coupled optical elements makes such a sensor rugged and easy to align. The results showed that gas concentrations of $O_2$, CO, $CO_2$, NO are accurately measured within ${\pm}2%$ error. The application of WMS method increased the beam intensity 2-3 times higher than DA method. It were experimentally compared WMS (Wavelength Modulation Spectroscopy) with DA (Direct Absorption) for the accuracy.

  • This study presents relations between the time lag and interaction index of the impinging-jet injectors using time lag model in a model chamber. To analyze the response of the flame, 5% amplitude of oxidizer velocity is artificially perturbed at a resonance frequency. At the mixing point of fuel and oxidizer, which determines the characteristic length, the relationship between velocity perturbation and heat release rate is quantified by combustion parameters of interaction index and time lag. As the improved method to apply the time-lag, the method using the average velocity obtained from numerical results is suggested.

  • BSCCO (2223) compound which has the highest temperature of transition to the superconducting state in the homologous series considered is synthesized by SHS. The method exploits self-sustaining solid-flame combustion reactions which develop very high internal material temperatures over short periods. This report introduces the SHS method and its advantages and discusses its application in the synthesis of superconducting materials.

  • The phenomena called "combustion instabilities" in a solid-propellant rocket motor may be viewed as sustaining or amplifying pressure waves. Energy is supplied by combustion processes near the surface of the burning propellant. T-burner method is used to determine the response function of the propellant to the pressure wave. But initial tests were failed because of the Helmholtz resonation inside the T-burner. Acoustic analysis of the original T-burner is carried out and suppression techniques for the Helmholtz oscillation are introduced.ntroduced.

  • Combustion characteristics of the solid composite propellants were studied from burning rate, ignition and steady combustion processes, and structure of the extinguished surfaces. Optical Vacuum Strand Burner (OVSB) system was desisted and configured to study those. Burning rates of the propellants were measured by OVSB at low pressure range by developed ten method. video camera(30 frames/s) was used to take potographs of the phenomena of ignition and combustion of propellant within the test cell of the OVSB. Burning surfaces of the propellants that were extinguished by rapid depressurization method were analyzed with Scanning Electron Microscope. (SEM).

  • Recently, many researches have been performed to improve the combustion and emission in a D.I.Diesel engine. Especially reduction of the soot formation in the combustion chamber is the essential to acquire the improvement of the emission performance. This emission of the diesel combustion is effected by the characteristics of air-fuel mixing. Therefore, the optical measurement technique such as LII and LIS were established in order to visualize the distribution of the soot and analyze the particle including spray in the combustion chamber. In this study, we developed the algorithm for calculating relative diameter and density of particle and applied this method to measure stimultaneously the distribution of soot and spray in a D.I. diesel engine. From this experiment we found that the soot is existed in the rich region of spray and generated caused by incapable air fuel mixture.

  • Due to the high density and heating value, liquid fuel is attractive for ramjet propulsion system. Liquid fuel requires time to evaporation and mix with incoming air before ignition; insufficient evaporation and mixing result in low combustion efficiency and instability. So the numerical studies are conducted to investigate the spray and combustion characteristics of a liquid-fueled dump type Ramjet combustor. The governing equations are solved by means of a finite-volume using time derivative preconditioning method for chemical reacting flow. The liquid phase is treated by solving Lagrangian equations of motion and transport for the life histories of a statistically significant sample of individual droplets.

2중 Wiebe 연소모델을 이용한 2행정 대형 선박용 디젤엔진의 성능예측 (The prediction of Performance in Two-Stroke Large Marine Diesel Engine Using Double-Wiebc Combustion Model)

  • In this study well-known burned rate expressions of Weibe function and double Wiebe function have been adopted for the combustion analysis of large two stroke marine diesel engine. A cycle simulation program was also developed to predict the performance and pressure waves in pipes using validated burned rate function,. Levenberg-Marquardt iteration method was applied to cali-brate the shape coefficients included in double Wiebe function for the performance prediction of two-stroke marine diesel engine. As a result the performance prediction using double Wiebe func-tion is well correlated withexperimental dta with the accuracy of 5% and pressure waves in intake and transport pipe are well predicted. From the results of this study it can be confirmed that the shape coefficients of burned rate function should be modified using the numerical method suggested for the accurated prediction and double Wiebe function is more suitable than Wiebe func-tion for combustion analysis of large two stroke marine engine.

  • The current study has developed an in-house 3D FEM code in order to model thermoacoustic problems in a gas turbine combustion system and compared calculation results of main instability characteristics with measured ones from a lab-scale partially-premixed combustor. From the comparison of calculation results with the measured data, the current model could successfully capture the harmonic longitudinal instability frequencies and their spatial distributions of the acoustic field as well as the growth rate of self-excited modes.
