Multiuser Detection Combined with Soft Limiter in FH/MFSK System (연판정 리미터와 결합된 FH/MFSK 시스템의 다중사용자 검출 방법)

  • In this paper, we proposed a simple modification on Fiebig's REC algorithm for multiuser detection of FH/MFSK systems replacing hard limiter with soft limiter. The performance improvement of our modified REC algorithm has been confirmed with computer simulations. for the parameter of interest, the capacity could be increased about 5% or more without degrading the reliability.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine a path model that investigated the relations among socioeconomic variables. financial management and financial satisfaction of urban households. for this purpose conceptual framework based on the system theory of family resource management was suggested. Data were collected from questionaire with 254 financial managers who were residents of Seoul. The major findings of this study were as follows: (1) The variables that effected financial satisfaction directly ere financial knowledge monthly saving amounts the gap between the level and standard of living and financial implementing. The financial planning effected indirectly on financial satsfaction through financial implementing. (2) The findings of this study provided support for a systems approach to family financial management. There result indicated that it is the combined effect of inputs and throughputs that effects the output of financial satisfaction.

  • It is very important to control the vibration transmitted from external utilities and the transient response due to the internal sources for the precision equipment, which is very sensitive to the vibration environment. The anti-vibration tables that use air springs have been widely used due to their excellent isolation performance, but the systems with high flexibility have the critical problem of large transient response by the impulsive force of the moving mass in operation of the equipment. In this paper, the hybrid vibration control system is proposed, which is combined the air springs with the semi-active MR dampers in order to satisfy the performances of isolation and vibration reduction simutaneously.

  • ATMega8535 Controller is the ideal solution for use as a standard controller in many applications. The small compact size combined with easy program updates and modifications, make it ideal for use in machinery and control systems, such as alarms, card readers, real-time monitoring applications and much more. This board is ideal as the brains of your robot or at the center of your home-monitoring system. Today, most drivers must use a parking place day by day. Therefore we make time shorten. Using above-mentioned ATmega8535, a sensor of infrared rays, led and lcd, we will make a parking system which is able to display parking situation and lead a car at the best position of Parking easily and quickly. Trying this project, we will be more closer to practical application of electronic engineering bit by bit.

  • This paper presents galloping analysis of multiple-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) structural roofs with multiple orientations. Instead of using drag and lift coefficients and/or their combined coefficient in traditional galloping analysis for slender structures, this study uses wind pressure coefficients for wind force representation on each and every different orientation roof, facilitating the galloping analysis of multiple-orientation roof structures. In the study, influences of nonlinear aerodynamic forces are considered. An energy-based equivalent technique, together with the modal analysis, is used to solve the nonlinear MDOF vibration equations. The critical wind speed for galloping of roof structures is derived, which is then applied to galloping analysis of roofs of a stadium and a high-rise building in China. With the aid of various experimental results obtained in pertinent research, this study also shows that consideration of nonlinear aerodynamic forces in galloping analysis generally increases the critical wind speed, thus enhancing aerodynamic stability of structures.

  • Most of previous visual attention system finds attention regions based on saliency map which is combined by multiple extracted features. The differences of these systems are in the methods of feature extraction and combination. This paper presents a new system which has an improvement in feature extraction method of color and motion, and in weight decision method of spatial and temporal features. Our system dynamically extracts one color which has the strongest response among two opponent colors, and detects the moving objects not moving pixels. As a combination method of spatial and temporal feature, the proposed system sets the weight dynamically by each features' relative activities. Comparative results show that our suggested feature extraction and integration method improved the detection rate of attention region.

  • Considerations of how to facilitate aging-in-place(AIP) are becoming increasingly pertinent as care-givers are overwhelmed by an aging population. Aging friendly home-care services combined with IT can satisfy the needs of the elderly suffer from chronic diseases such as depression and dementia. Therefore, we propose future smart phone services and application technologies which can estimate emotional states of the aged and respond to the desire to be happy with mental health, connectedness and consolation from peoples. Firstly, we introduce depression measurement techniques to estimate the severity of depression using multiple sensors. At second, the emotional responding services are categorized to four parts and the details are described. Lastly, we propose the process to implement emotional communication and the application techniques(services) to fulfill the emotional satisfaction and mental healthcare for AIP using smart phone as a mediator.

Implementation and Verification of a Multi-Core Processor including Multimedia Specific Instructions (멀티미디어 전용 명령어를 내장한 멀티코어 프로세서 구현 및 검증)

  • In this paper, we present a multi-core processor including multimedia specific instructions to process multimedia data efficiently in the mobile environment. Multimedia specific instructions exploit subword level parallelism (SLP), while the multi-core processor exploits data level parallelism (DLP). These combined parallelisms improve the performance of multimedia processing applications. The proposed multi-core processor including multimedia specific instructions is implemented and tested using a Xilinx ISE 10.1 tool and SoCMaster3 testbed system including Vertex 4 FPGA. Experimental results using a fire detection algorithm show that multimedia specific instructions outperform baseline instructions in the same multi-core architecture in terms of performance (1.2x better), energy efficiency (1.37x better), and area efficiency (1.23x better).

  • Augmented reality is a novel human-machine interaction that overlays virtual computer-generated information on a real world environment. It has found good potential applications in many fields, such as training, surgery, entertainment, maintenance, assembly, product design and other manufacturing operations. In this study, a smartphone-based augmented reality system was developed for the purpose of monitoring and managing injection molding production lines. Required management items were drawn from a management content analysis, and then the items were divided into two broad management categories: line management and equipment management. Effective work management was enabled by providing those working on the shop floor with management content information combined with the actual images of an injection molding production line through augmented reality.

  • It is a superordinate concept to a network control system which optimally distributes the battery power to overall length parts through the linkage control drive and absorbs/integrates network diagnostics and overlapped functions with overall length control systems. This study is to develop a system that maximize the battery power and motor effectiveness by controlling motor battery controlling module with common MCU Integration linkage controlling system, and to develop S/W and H/W that can be controlled by linked with each controlling module in CAN method through using Autosar's standardized software.
