감성조명용 조명기기의 조도 및 색온도 시뮬레이션을 통한 광원 조합의 최적화 (Optimization of Light Source Combination through the Illuminance and Color Temperature Simulation of Circadian Lighting Apparatus)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 감성조명용 조명기기의 조도 및 색온도 표현 능력을 극대화할 수 있는 최적의 광원조합을 도출하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 감성조명용 조명기기는 2000K와 8000K의 서로 다른 색온도를 가지는 형광램프로 구성하였으며, 각각의 형광램프의 조합 수량을 변화시키며 조명기기의 조도 및 색온도 표현 능력을 광학 simulation을 통해 평가하였다. 이 때, Kruithof's curve 및 예외 경우를 고려하여 실내 활동종류에 따른 조도 및 색온도 영역을 가족모임, 학습, 휴식, 수면 등의 4가지로 다시 구분하였으며, 이를 통해 감성조명용 조명기기의 조도 및 색온도 구현범위에 대한 목표치를 설정하였다. 평가 결과, 2000K와 8000K의 색온도를 가지는 형광램프를 각각 4개와 5개씩 채용한 조명기기 2 개를 조합하는 경우 4000K에서 최대 밝기를 보이며 3000K와 6000K에서도 500lx 이상의 밝기를 구현할 수 있는 것으로 예측 되었다. 본 연구에서 최적화 된 광원 조합을 통해 구현할 수 있는 조도 범위는 $44{\sim}750lx$ 이며 유효 색온도 범위는 $2500\;{\sim}\;6500K$인 것으로 예측되었다.

THE NON-LINEARITY EFFECT ON THE COLOR-TO-METALLICITY CONVERSION OF GLOBULAR CLUSTERS IN NGC 5128

  • The metallicity distribution of globular clusters (GCs) provides a crucial clue for the star formation history of their host galaxy. With the assumption that GCs are generally old, GC colors have been used as a proxy for GC metallicities. Bimodal color distributions of GCs observed in most large galaxies have, for decades, been interpreted as bimodal metallicity distributions, indicating the presence of two populations within a galaxy. However, the conventional view has been challenged by a new theory that non-linear GC color-metallicity relations can cause a bimodal color distribution even from a single-peaked metallicity distribution. Using photometric and spectroscopic data of NGC 5128 GCs in combination with stellar population simulation models, we examine the effect of non-linearity in GC color-metallicity relations on transformation of the color distributions into the metallicity distributions. Although in some colors offsets are present between observations and models for the color-metallicity relations, their overall shape agrees well for various colors. After the offsets are corrected, the observed spectroscopic metallicity distribution is well reproduced via modeled color-metallicity relations from various color distributions having different morphologies. We discuss the implications of our results.

의복과 립스틱의 동일색상 톤 변화에 따른 의복착용자의 이미지 평가 (The Image Evaluation for Tone Variation in Same Color of Clothing and Lipstick of the Clothing Wearers)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of makeup, clothing tone and clothing style on wearer's with same color coordination of lipstick and clothing. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales (7-point scale semantic). The stimuli were 64 color pictures were manipulated by computer simulation. This experiment design was $2{\times}2{\times}4{\times}4$ factorial design. The stimuli were a set of eyeshadow color(brown), clothing style (formal style of Jacket / skirt and casual style of cardigan / pants), lipstick and clothing color (red and orange), lipstick tone(vivid, light, dull and dark), clothing tone(vivid, light, dull and dark). The subjects of this research were 384 female undergraduates living in Gyeongsangnam-do. The investigation was carried out at a lecture hall at the time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in May 2006. The data were analyzed using SPSS program. Factor analysis, 4-way ANOVA, t-test, and Duncan test were used as analysis methods. Image factors according to variation of clothing style, clothing color, and makeup color are composed of 4 different dimensions (visibility, attractiveness, tenderness, and stability). In dimension of the visibility, the image was perceived to be glowing and luxurious regardless of lipstick tone and lipstick color in the case of the vivid tone clothing. According to the variation of clothing style, clothing color and tone, makeup color composed of eyeshadow color, lipstick color and tone, it was investigated that the images for a clothing wearer were expressed diversely, were shown differently in image dimensions, and could be produced to different images. The analysis data for images according to the combination of makeup and clothing color, tone, and style thus provide basic material for image consulting or color coordination.

도시 외부공간의 시각적 변화에 대한 인지 및 선호도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Cognition and Preference for the Visual Changes of Urban Exterior Space)

  • Purpose of this thesis is to find out the relationship among the amount of change and the visual cognition, and the visual preference which people like and can feel. Through the investigation of relationships between the amount of change, which indicates the degree of visual variation and the visual preference, the amount of change and the visual cognition, and the visual preference and the visual cognition, basic design data will be supplied, which can satisfy users' desire as much as possible in the most economic way. In order to investigate the relationship between the visually produced the amount of change and preferences, graphic simulation, in which variables other than the visual change are controlled, has been proceeded. Graphic factors of the visual change in the cyber exterior space are determined on the point of location (base plane, vertical plane, overhead plane), shape, size and color. As for the relationship between the amount of change and the preference, only the size is effective. since preferences on the location, shape and color are individual preferences, no common trend can be found. Therefore, we cannot say that which shape or color is better, Since the location, shape and color are qualitative change and the size is the quantitative change, the size can be the measurable change quantity. The relationship between the amount of change of size and the degree of preference is found to be inverse U-shape, i.e., as the amount of change of size increases the degree of preference first increases and, after a certain level, decreases. The same result has been obtained in photo simulation.

이색 사출성형기 개발을 위한 유압시스템의 특성 검토 (Characteristics Analysis of the Fluid Power System for a Double-color Injection Molding Machine Development)

  • Double-color Injection molding machine is the assembly of many kinds of mechanical, fluid power part and electric electronic control system. From in these, fluid power is a part where becomes the first core of this machine. Fluid power systems of double-color injection molding machine are modelled and analyzed using a commercial program AMESim. Partial system models which is divided according to functional operation are made and its analysis results shows how design parameters work on operational characteristics like pressure, flow rates, displacement at each node and so on. Analysis modeling and compared the data which gets from experiment and the analysis result which has a reliability got data. The results made by analysis will be used design of fluid power circuit for developing a double-color injection molding machine.

시뮬레이션을 이용한 커튼 디자인의 평가 (The evaluation of curtain design by simulation method)

  • This study is to present various curtain design by simulating method of the 32 case's combination of the styles, the patterns, the colors of curtain design for 50 woman collage students by photo shop program. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follow : The evaluation factors of curtains design was classified into three groups ; emotionality, harmoniousness, stimulus. The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "emotionality" of the first factor is curtain with the valance of cloud style, mixed Diagram pattern and ivory color(NO.16). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "harmoniousness" as well as "stimulus" is curtain with the valance of two pieces cloud style, flower pattern and pink color(NO.18). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "emotionality" and "stimulus" as well as "emotionality" and "harmoniousness" is curtain with the valance of natural fold style, stripes pattern and pink color(NO.6). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "harmoney" and "stimulus" is curtain with the valance of two pieces cloud style, flower pattern and pink color(NO.18). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "emotionality", "harmoniousness" and "stimulus" is curtain with the valance of two pieces cloud style, flower pattern and pink color(NO.18).

Nonlinear Color-Metallicity Relations of Globular Clusters: an Observational Approach

  • The origin of globular cluster (GC) color bimodality, which is one of the salient phenomena observed in most large galaxies, has not yet been fully resolved. The phenomenon has conventionally been interpreted as a bimodal metallicity distribution based on an assumption of linear GC color-metallicity relations (CMRs). Recent studies however suggest that nonlinear GC CMRs can cause a bimodal color distribution even from a single-peaked metallicity spread. Using photometric and spectroscopic data on GCs in NGC 5128 (Cen A) and NGC 4594 (Sombrero), we investigate the nonlinearity of GC CMRs and compare the observed GC CMRs with the predictions of stellar population simulation models. Our careful selection of old GCs effectively reduces the scatter and reveals the nonlinear nature of the GC CMRs for various colors. The overall shape of the observed CMRs agrees well with that of the modeled CMRs, while offsets are present for some colors. We discuss the implications of our results in terms of the GC color bimodality and GC formation in NGC 5128 and NGC 4594.

Content-Based Image Retrieval Using Adaptive Color Histogram

  • From the 90's, the image information retrieval methods have been on progress. As good examples of the methods, Conventional histogram method and merged-color histogram method were introduced. Dey could get good result in image retrieval. However, Conventional histogram method has disadvantages if the histogram is shifted as a result of intensity change. Merged-color histogram, also, causes more process so, it needs more time to retrieve images. In this paper, we propose an improved new method using Adaptive Color Histogram(ACH) in image retrieval. The proposed method has been tested and verified through a number of simulations using hundreds of images in a database. The simulation results have quickly yielded the highly accurate candidate images in comparison to other retrieval methods. We show that ACH's can give superior results to color histograms for image retrieval.

  • This paper proposes a new design of ultra-slim color mixing lens (CML) for backlight unit (BLU), and presents simulated performance of the design. The novel color mixing structure has a shorter mixing length (< 1cm) than the existing color mixing structure, and achieves high efficiency and uniformity.

  • In this paper, we propose two new detection-estimation based algorithms that effectively remove impulsive noises in severely corrupted color images. The existing methods for enhancing corrupted color images with impulsive noises commonly possess the inherent problems of excessive computing time and smoothing out edges. However, since our proposed algorithms classify corrupted pixels first in each channel or in each pixel and then perform marginal or vector median filtering only for them, are computationally efficient and preserve edges well. In addition, since there are no appropriate criteria to evaluate the performance of impulsive noise detectors for color images, the objective comparison of noise detectors is difficult. Thus, we introduce a new efficiency factor to compare the performance of noise detectors in digital color images. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms perform better than the existing methods in terms of both objective and subjective evaluat ons.
