Variation of Shell Color in Three Geographic White Clam ($Meretrix$ $lusoria$) Populations of the Yellow Sea

  • Genomic DNAs (gDNAs) were isolated from the hard clam ($Meretrix$ $lusoria$, Roding, 1798) populations of Gunsan located in the Yellow Sea of the Korean peninsula. Genetic distances among different individuals of the LSCP (light shell color population) population of the hard clam (lane 1-11), GSCP (grey shell color population) population of the hard clam (lane 12-22) and DSCP (dark shell color population) population of the hard clam (lane 23-33), respectively, were generated using Systat version 10 according to the bandsharing values and similarity matrix. The dendrogram, generated by seven reliable oligonucleotides primers, indicates 3 genetic clusters. LSCP population could be evidently discriminated with the other two populations among three populations. The longest genetic distance (0.801) was found to exist between individuals in the two populations, between individuals' no. 33 of the DSCP population and no. 06 of the LSCP population. The higher fragment sizes (>2,000 bp) are much more observed in the GSCP population. Three hard clam populations can be clearly distinguished, especially, by their morphological characters and PCR-based approach.

감성이 시각적 이미지의 색감기억에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Emotion on Color Vividness of Visual Memory)

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the quantitative effects of various emotions and retention periods on the color vividness of visual memory. Background: Although numerous studies have focused on the effects of emotions on memory such as visual detail and vividness of emotional events compared to neutral events, the relationship between emotion and visual memory is ambiguous yet. Furthermore, there were few studies on the effect of emotion on vividness of visual memory. Method: A total of 68 subjects were participated in serial experiments proceed on online and the experiments had two phases: recognition phase and reproduction phase. The 15 photographs were used as visual stimuli and all experiments were conducted over the internet(experiment website) and the results were collected on the web database. Results: The retention period, sleep-arousal emotion and subjective saturation of visual stimuli had a significant effect on the color vividness of visual memory. Conclusion: The results suggested that the color of visual stimulus might be more vividly remembered when it is arousing, the subjective saturation is higher and the retention period is longer. Application: The findings of this study may help clarify the relationship between human emotions and visual memory.

  • 본 연구는 PCBs가 칼납자루의 생식에 미치는 영향을 조직학적인 방법을 사용하여 조사하였다. 0, 3.4, 9.3 그리고 25.8 ${\mu}g\; L^{-1}$의 PCBs에 8주 동안 노출 실험한 결과, PCBs에 의한 행동과 생존율에는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 대조구와 비교해볼 때 PCBs에 노출된 어류들은 생식소발달, 생식소중량지수 (GSI), 간중량지수 (HSI), 혼인색지수(NCI) 및 산란관지수(OLI)의 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 PCBs가 이들 어류의 정상적인 생식소 발달 과정을 방해하는 것을 보여준다.

한국과 일본 축제의 백제복식 재현에 관한 연구: 백제문화제와 사천왕사왔소축제의 행렬복식을 중심으로 (A Study on the Reproduction of Baekje Costumes Exhibited in Korean and Japanese Festivals: Focusing on Parade Costumes from Baekje Cultural and Sacheonwangsawasso Festivals)

  • This study aimed to suggest more appropriate and accurate festival costumes based on a comparative analysis on various reproduced costumes and a period review of traditional festival costumes. In particular, the comparative analysis examined festival costumes which appeared in Korean and Japanese festival parades during the Baekje Period. The Baekje Cultural and Sacheonwangsawasso Festivals were examined. A literature review as well as field research and digital restorative techniques were used in the study. The reproduction patterns of Baekje costumes from both festivals were compared with original Baekje costumes, demonstrating several differences in the configuration, material, color, and shape of the costumes in addition to the way they were worn. Based on the comparative analysis, Baekje costumes used in Festivals were grouped into three categories: King's Costume, Queen's Costume, and Government Official's Costume. Dress sketches and 3D illustrations also have been presented.

  • 평판 디스플레이(plate panel display)가 휴대용으로 발전하면서 박막화, 고색재현성, 고휘도에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있으며, 광원으로써 LED, OLED가 주로 이용되고 있다. 이러한 광원의 소재로 양자점에 관한 연구가 많이 이루어 지고 있는데, 양자점은 고색재현성과 유연디스플레이 구현에 있어서 주목받는 차세대 반도체 나노형광체 이다. 본 연구에서는 평판 디스플레이를 구현함에 있어서 양자점을 이용하는 방법에 관하여 제시하였다. CdSe/ZnS 양자점을 PET베리어 필름에 $100{\mu}m$ 두께로 도포하고 455nm의 파장을 갖는 청색 LED를 광원으로하여 빛을 조사하는 디바이스를 제작하고 광특성을 평가하였으며, LCD의 색변환 필름으로써 양자점의 적용 가능성을 제시하였다.

Newborn traits associated with pre-weaning growth and survival in piglets

  • Objective: Piglet pre-weaning mortality is an important variable indicating the efficacy of farrowing management and animal well-being during lactation. The present study determined the association of newborn traits measured soon after birth with piglet pre-weaning mortality and growth. Methods: In total, 805 piglets born from 57 multiparous sows were investigated. Their blood oxygen saturation, blood glucose and rectal temperature at 24 h after birth (RT24h) were monitored. Birth order, sex, skin color, integrity of the umbilical cord, attempts to stand and birth intervention were monitored. Piglets were weighed at day 0, 7, and 21 to evaluate average daily gain (ADG). Results: Piglet pre-weaning mortality for lactation period was 12.6% and cumulative mortality during the first 7 days of age was 8.6%. A higher proportion of piglets with pale skin color died compared to piglets with normal skin color (26.7% vs 7.7%, p<0.001). A higher (p<0.001) proportion of piglets that attempted to stand after 5 min (38.5%) died compared to piglets that attempted to stand within 1 min (6.3%) after birth. Piglet body weight at birth ($BW_B$), blood glucose and the number of piglets born alive (BA) were correlated with ADG (p<0.05). Piglets with $BW_B$ <1.30 kg had higher (p<0.001) mortality rate than piglets with $BW_B{\geq}1.80 kg$ (19.0% vs 3.3%) and piglets with $BW_B$ 1.30 to 1.79 kg (4.0%). Piglet with RT24h <$37.0^{\circ}C$ had higher (p<0.001) mortality rate (86.2%) than piglets with RT24h >$38.5^{\circ}C$ (3.9%). Conclusion: Low $BW_B$ and low RT24h compromise piglet survival during the lactation period in the tropical conditions. Piglets in the litters with a high BA, low $BW_B$ and low blood glucose have reduced ADG.

모바일 디스플레이를 위한 특성화 방법과 색 정합 기술 (Characterization Method and Color Matching Technology for Mobile Display)

  • 본 논문에서는 모니터와 모바일 디스플레이간의 복잡한 색 정합 과정을 단순화시키는 3차원의 색 정합 look-up table(LUT)을 설계하였다. 여기에서 영상의 색은 CIEXYZ 혹은 CIELAB 등의 장치 독립적인 색 공간에서 처리되며, 색역의 차이를 보상하기 위해 색역 사상이 수행된다. 장치 의존적인 RGB 색 공간에서 장치 독립적인 색 공간으로의 변환은 디스플레이 특성화 과정을 수행함으로써 이루어진다. 기존의 S-curve 모텔을 이용하여 모바일 LCD 를 특성화 하면 모바일 LCD의 채널 색도 변화와 채널 의존 특성으로 인해 특성화 오차가 허용 오차보다 커지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 R, G, B, C, M, Y, K 성분의 X, Y, Z의 전기-빛 입출력 곡선을 모두 이용하여 특성화 오차를 줄였다. 제안한 색 정합 LUT 와 복잡하고 단계적인 색 정합 절차 사이의 색 정합 결과 영상 비교 실험을 통해 허용오차 내의 영상을 재현할 수 있는 색 정합 LUT의 최소 크기가 64($4{\times}4{\times}4$)라는 것을 확인하였다.

게이블 헤드드레스의 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Restoration of Gable Headdress)

  • The purpose of the study is to understand the newer and more direct design techniques, and to provide information to exert creativity in designing. The headdress, one of dress items, was selected so that the change might be investigated in designs and production methods. A headdress was manufactured on the basis of literature review and portrait analysis. The target period of the study was limited to Henry Ⅶ and Henry Ⅷl(1485∼l547) when gable headdress was put on. The details and the patterns of gable headdress were identified for the selected gable hood to be manufactured. It was not possible to get the same dress material, so a similar one was made as in the pictures. The same was done to the color. Putting the focus of the study on the reproduction of the figure in the portrait, some dimension were measured in bodily proportion and patterns were made by three-dimensional cutting. As results, some dimensions used in the manufacture had some limits.

감즙에 의한 면직물의 염색성과 기능성 (Dyeability and Functionality of Cotton Fabrics Treated with Persimmon Juice)

  • Cotton fabrics was treated with persimmon juice by padding and their dyeability and functionality were assessed including antibacterial activity and deodorization ratio. The merit of padding-based dyeing was easier color reproduction over traditional hand dyeing where various colors and color fastness to light and laundering are hard to obtain. With larger number of padding, the dyed fabrics showed deeper red-yellow colors, which had low brightness and high chromatic colors. The dyed cotton fabrics had a perspiration fastness of 4~5 rating, a rubbing fastness of 3~4 rating, and a washing fastness of 4 rating, As the number of padding and exposed time to sunlight or UV light increase, the values of K/S and ${\Delta}E$ increased and the colors became much deeper gradually. The color development had completed about 70 hours exposure to UV. Among the light sources, the dyed fabrics exposed to UV light showed deeper yellow-red color than those of exposed to sunlight. The cotton fabrics treated with premordants like Al, Cr, Cu, and Sn revealed strong yellow colors, especially the fabrics treated with Fe mordant showed greenish red-yellow colors. As the padding times of dyeing with persimmon juice increased, stiffness and water repellent property were enhanced in warp and weft directions, respectively. Also, the dyed fabrics have good antibacterial activity and deodorization.

감즙 염색에 의한 레이온직물의 염색성과 기능성 (Dyeability and Functionality of Rayon Fabrics Treated with Persimmon Juice)

  • The results of the analysis of dyed rayon fabrics treated with persimmon juice by padding are as follows. Rayon fabrics were dyed repeatedly with persimmon juice by a padding mangle for the development of dyeability. The merits of padding-based dyeing were easier color reproduction (versus traditional hand dyeing) of hard to obtain colors and color fastness to light and laundering. The add on weight increased with the number of padding times, and the color of the dyed fabrics had red-yellow colors with low brightness and high chromatic colors. Properties of fabrics treated with persimmon juice were: $2^{nd}$ level of light resistance, $4^{th}-5^{th}$ perspiration fastness levels, rubbing fastness, and $3^{rd}-4^{th}$ washing fastness levels. Dyed fabrics exposed to UV light have a deep yellow-red color that increased lightness and darken when exposed to sunlight. Rayon fabrics of a treated premordant indicated strong yellow colors, especially fabrics with Fe mordant indicated greenish red-yellow colors. The direction of the weft and warp increased and improved water-repellent qualities that increased with the number of dyeing padding times and persimmon juice; however, there was less anti-crease resistance. In addition, fabrics had good antibacterial activity and deodorization.
