  • Color simulation on a portable colorimeter was performed to distinguish quantitatively a chromaticity coordinates on a color guide of a urine strips by using the spectral power distribution of chip LED, the spectral reflectance of printed objects, and the spectral sensitivity of photodiode. The CIE tristimulus values and chromaticity coordinates realized by a colorimeter were modified to be conformable with real color reactions. Experimental results showed a real color in comparison with those obtained by Colorimeter CM2C(Color Savvy).

  • Recently, the color separation issue of wide-spreading white LEDs has attracted attention due to their wide applicability as light sources in direct-lit LCD backlights. These wide-spreading LED packages usually consist of LED chips, a color-conversion phosphor layer, and a light-shaping lens. The technical aspect of this color issue was related to a method for balancing the yellow spectral component emitting from phosphors with respect to the blue one from the LED chip as a function of viewing angle. In this study, we suggested an approach for carrying out quantitative analysis for the color separation problem occurring in wide-spreading LED packages by optical simulation. In addition, the effect of an internal scattering layer on the color uniformity was investigated, which may be considered as a potential solution for this problem.

  • The purpose of this research is to enhance the luminance of the LED and to improve the implementation of color by mounting an array lens on the LED without special technology in process. The workmanship of key components considering the economical efficiency and the injection molding technology for high quality of the product are essential to achieve it. In this paper, the mold was computer-aided was designed and manufactured by CAM software (NX4) and high speed machining center. the applied final machining conditions were 3,000-5,000mm/min feed speed, 15,000-25,000rpm and ${\Phi}0.3mm$ ball end-mill. And the Flow analysis was performed using the mold flow software(MPI) in order to get uniformity of resin. Injection conditions acquired by the flow analysis and the injection experiment are as follows. The cylinder temperature is $220-260^{\circ}C$, the mold temperature is $70-80^{\circ}C$, the injection time is about 1.2sec, the injection pressure and velocity is each 7.8-14.7Mpa, and the injection velocity is 0.8-1.2m/sec.

  • The specific objectives of this study were to dry yam chips using microwave vacuum drying, freeze drying and hot air drying, then to coat the dried yam chips with ascorbic acid cocrystallized sucrose, and finally to compare the quality of yam chip snack foods with respect to drying and coating characteristics. The microwave vacuum dried sample showed the highest drying rates and much less surface damage than the hot air dried one did. The shape and color of the microwave vacuum dried/coated sample were allocated between those of the freeze dried/coated sample and the hot air dried/coated sample. The freeze dried/coated sample scored excessively low in organoleptic hardness and chewiness to be suitable as a snack. The hot air dried/coated sample was too deep in color, wrinkled, excessively high in organoleptic hardness and chewiness, and excessively low in mouthfeeling. Therefore, the microwave vacuum dried/coated sample presented the best overall attributes as a snack, with respect to organoleptic characteristics, shape, color, and drying rates.

  • The Purpose of this research was focused on analyzing how costume was exactly researched for film in comparison with the original Renaissance costume, and how to change the degree of brightness and chroma in costume of two films, 'Shakespeare in Love' and 'Elizabeth: The Virgin Queen'. For these purpose, each costume of main seven scenes was analyzed in terms of silhouette, detail, and trimming. Color image, brightness and chroma of costume were compared with the color chip data from Samsung Design Net. As results, costume from two films had exactness in historical research. but the original costumes were modernly changed by the purpose of director. Color image of costume were used proper colors for the characteristic of the story. Costumes of heroine was numerically changed at the degree qf the brightness and chroma through story-going. By this change, director could effectively give dramatic rhythm for the story. The limitation of this research was that color analysis had been conducted on the screen, and this fact might mean the original colors of film might be different from those of screen.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the quality characteristics of choco-chip when using the baking soda. Medium flours are more commonly used for choco-chip cookies than cake flours due to the higher pH levels. The L and b values of the flours decreased but the redness colors were increased with the increased percentage of baking sodas. The hardness, brittleness and gumminess of cake flours and increased baking sodas were lower than the medium flours. Micrographs of the choco-chip cookies showed that the baking sodas with the medium flours had better tendency to melt the proteins than cake flours. Sensory characteristics suggested that the additional 2% of baking soda generated good appearance, flavor, color, texture and over all acceptance. According to the results, we gained knowledge on the effects of adding baking soda to the quality of cookies. And, the most recommended percentages of baking sodas base as suggested by bakers are 2%.

  • Microarrayer makes DNA chip and microarray that contain hundreds to thousands of immobilized DNA probes on surface of a microscope slide. This paper shows the development results for a printing type of microarrayer. It realizes a typical, low-cost and efficient microarrayer for generating low density microarray. The microarrayer is developed by using a robot of three-axes perpendicular type. It is composed of a computer-controlled three-axes robot and a pen tip assembly. The key component of the arrayer is the print-head containing the tips to immobilize cDNA, genomic DNA or similar biological material on glass surface. The robot is designed to automatically collect probes from two 96-well plates with up to 32 tips at the same time. To prove the performance of the developed microarrayer, the general water types of inks such as black, blue and red. The inks are distributed at proper positions of 96 well plates and the three color inks are immobilized on the slide glass under the operation procedure. As the result of the test, it can be shown that it has sufficient performance for the production of low integrated DNA chip consisted of 96 spots within 1 $cm^2$ area.

  • Polydiacetylene (PDA) is chemosensor materials that exhibit non-fluorescent-to-fluorescent transition as well as blue-to-red visible color change upon chemical or thermal stress. They have been studied in forms of film or microarray chip, so far. In this paper, we provide a novel technique to fabricate continuous micro-fiber PDA sensor using in-situ laser-polymerization technique and 3-D hydrodynamic focusing on a microfluidic chip. The flow of a monomer solution with diacetylene (DA) monomer is focused by a sheath flow on a 3-D microfluidic chip. The focused flow is exposed to 365 nm UV laser beam for in-situ polymerization which generates a continuous fiber containing DA monomers. Then, the fiber is exposed to 254 nm UV light to polymerize DA monomers to PDA. Preliminary results indicate that the fiber size can be controlled by the flow rates of the monomer solution and sheath flows and that a PDA sensor fiber successively responds to chemical and thermal stress.
