Null Frame 기법을 이용한 Frame Slotted Aloha기반 리더 충돌 방지 기법 (Reader anti-collision method on frame slotted aloha using null frame)

  • RFID의 발달과 사용 분야가 넓어짐에 따라 기존의 단일 리더 환경에서 다중 리더 환경이나, 밀집 리더 환경으로 변화되고 있다. 리더의 수가 많아짐에 따라 리더간의 신호에 의한 리더 간의 간섭 및 다수의 리더에 의한 태그의 간섭 등 리더 충돌이 빈번히 발생할 것이다. 리더간의 간섭 및 충돌을 방지하기 위한 알고리즘이 연구, 제안되고 있다. Gen2 Dense 모드, LBT 등의 알고리즘은 사용 채널을 분리하여 리더간의 충돌을 방지하거나 TDMA방식을 이용하여 리더들의 사용 시간을 분리하여 충돌을 피하는 방법 등을 제안 하였다. 본 논문에서는 Frame slotted Aloha방식에서 슬롯 당 충돌 확률을 계산하고, 그 결과를 이용하여 충돌을 방지하는 null fame 알고리즘을 제안하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 성능을 분석하였다. 기존의 방식과 비교 했을 때 시스템 전체의 리더 간 충돌 수, 프레임의 사용에서의 성능 향상을 볼 수 있었다.

멀티-홉 무선 센서 네트워크에서 효율적인 패킷 전송 메커니즘 (Efficient Packet Transmission Mechanism for Multi-hop Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • In general, data packets from sensor nodes are transferred to the sink node in a wireless sensor networks. So many data packets are gathered around the sink node, resulting in significant packet collision and delay. In this paper, we propose an efficient packet transmission mechanism for multi-hop wireless sensor networks. The proposed mechanism is composed of two modes. One mode works between sink node and 1-hop nodes from sink. In this mode, data packets are transmitted in predefined time slots to reduce collisions. The other mode works between other nodes except sink node. In this mode, duplicated packets from neighbor nodes can be detected and dropped using some control signals. Our numerical analysis and simulation results show that our mechanism outperforms X-MAC and RI-MAC in terms of energy consumption and transmission delay.

  • The front-end side members of automobiles, such as the hat-shaped section member, absorb most of the energy during the front-end collision. The side members absorb more energy in collision if they have higher strength and stiffness, and stable folding capacity (local buckling). Using the above characteristics on energy absorption, vehicle should be designed light-weight to improve fuel combustion ratio and reduce exhaust gas. Because of their specific strength and stiffness, CFRP are currently being considered for many structural (aerospace vehicle, automobiles, trains and ships) applications due to their potential for reducing structural weight. Although CFRP members exhibit collapse modes that are significantly different from the collapse modes of metallic materials, numerous studies have shown that CFRP members can be efficient energy absorbing materials. In this study, the CFRP side members were manufactured using a uni-directional prepreg sheet of carbon/Epoxy and axial static collapse tests were performed for the members. The collapse mode and the energy absorption capability of the members were analyzed under the static load.

Application of Fast Atom Bombardment Collision-induced Dissociation Tandem Mass Spectrometry for Structural identification of Glycerolipids Isolated From Marine Sponge

  • Two types of glycerolipids [monoacylglycerols (MAG) and cyclitols] were isolated by reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography from the methanol extracts of a marine sponge, and analyzed by fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FAB-MS) in positive-ion mode. FAB mass spectra of these compounds yielded protonated molecules $[M + H]^+$ and abundant sodiated molecules $[M + Na]^+$ from a mixture of 3-nitrobenzyl alcohol and NaI. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by FAB-collisional-induced dissociation (CID)-tandem mass spectrometry. We carried out collision-indused dissociation (CID) of these lipids in B/E-linked scan mode. The CID B/E-linked scan of $[M + H]^+$ and $[M + Na]^+$ precursor ions resulted in the formation of numerous characteristic product ions through a series of dissociative processes. The product ions formed by charge-remote fragmentation (CRF) provided important information for the identification of the acyl chain structure substituted at the glycerol backbone. Some of the product the ions were diagnostic for the presence of a glycerol backbone or acyl chain structure.

Improved Crash Detection Algorithm for Vehicle Crash Detection

  • A majority of car crash is affected by careless driving that causes extensive economic and social costs, as well as injuries and fatalities. Thus, the research of precise crash detection systems is very significant issues in automotive safety. A lot of crash detection algorithms have been developed, but the coverage of these algorithms has been limited to few scenarios. Road scenes and situations need to be considered in order to expand the scope of a collision detection system to include a variety of collision modes. The proposed algorithm effectively handles the x, y, and z axes of the sensor, while considering time and suggests a method suitable for various real worlds. To reduce nuisance and false crash detection events, the algorithm discriminated between driving mode and parking mode. The performance of the suggested algorithm was evaluated under various scenarios, and it successfully discriminated between driving and parking modes, and it adjusted crash detection events depending on the real scenario. The proposed algorithm is expected to efficiently manage the space and lifespan of the storage device by allowing the vehicle's black box system to store only necessary crash event's videos.

Performance of bridge structures under heavy goods vehicle impact

  • This paper presents a numerical study on the performance of reinforced concrete (RC) bridge structures subjected to heavy goods vehicle (HGV) collision. The objectives of this study are to investigate the dynamic response and failure modes of different types of bridges under impact loading as well as to give an insight into the simplified methods for modeling bridge structures. For this purpose, detailed finite-element models of HGV and bridges are established and verified against the full-scale collision experiment and a recent traffic accident. An intensive parametric study with the consideration of vehicle weight, vehicle velocity, structural type, simplified methods for modeling bridges is conducted; then the failure mode, impact force, deformation and internal force distribution of the validated bridge models are discussed. It is observed that the structural type has a significant effect on the force-transferring mechanism, failure mode and dynamic response of bridge structures, thus it should be considered in the anti-impact design of bridge structures. The impact force of HGV is mainly determined by the impact weight, impact velocity and contact interface, rather than the simplification of the superstructure. Furthermore, to reduce the modeling and computing cost, it is suggested to utilize the simplified bridge model considering the inertial effect of the superstructure to evaluate the structural impact behavior within a reasonable precision range.

차대차 충돌평가(MPDB)에서 충돌 각도 및 젖힘자세 특성 등에 따른 승객 상해 연구 (Study About the Crash Safety of Occupants According to the Reclining Postures and Impact Angle under MPDB Test Types)

  • As advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) and autonomous driving performance continue to improve, existing crash accidents and crash types are changing. Accordingly, the collision angle and the seating posture of the occupant are changed. It is necessary to study how the occupant injury mechanism changes according to these different crash types. In this regard, a representative crash test mode was derived when the automatic emergency braking system (AEB), one of the autonomous driving performance, was applied to the representative car-to-car crash scenario in Korea. The derived crash test mode was used to analyse the mechanisms of collision injuries according to both impact angle and the occupant seating posture (reclined seat-back angle). The results obtained through this study can be utilized as reference data for the development of new crash evaluation methods and improvements in crash restraint systems for enhancing crash safety.

RFID 시스템에서의 적응형 리더 충돌 방지 알고리즘 (An Adaptive Anti-collision Algorithm for RFID Systems)

  • 인접한 RFID 리더가 동시에 같은 채널을 사용할 경우 리더간에 충돌이 발생한다. RFID가 밀집된 상황에서는 채널수가 많다고 하더라도 RFID 리더간에 채널접근을 적절히 제어하지 않을 경우 RFID 리더간의 잦은 충돌로 인해 성능을 보장할 수 없다. 기존에 사용되는 리더 충돌 방지 기법인 FH(Frequency Hopping) 및 LBT(Listen Before Talk) 방식의 경우 채널수가 많은 환경에서 효율적으로 채널을 할당하는 메커니즘을 갖고 있지 않기 때문에 동시에 다채널, 밀집리더 환경에서는 성능을 보장할 수 없는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 밀집 리더 환경에서 리더 충돌 문제를 개선할 수 있는 확률적 채널 호핑 알고리즘을 제안한다. 확률적 채널 호핑 알고리즘은 채널을 점유하기 전 LBT 방식을 기반으로 랜덤 백오프를 사용함으로써 여러 리더가 경쟁할 경우 발생하는 충돌을 줄여준다. 또한, LBT 과정에서 타 채널로 호핑하는 확률을 리더의 밀집도 및 채널의 사용률을 반영하여 적응적으로 할당함으로써 채널 이용률을 높인다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 알고리즘이 기존의 방법에 비해 우수함을 보인다.

차량 사용자 인증 시스템을 위한 향상된 충돌 방지 알고리즘의 설계 및 구현 (The Design and Implementation of Improved Anti-Collision Algorithm for Vehicle User Authentication System)

  • 최근 자동차 산업이 눈부시게 발전하면서 운전자의 편의성과 안전성을 위해 차량에는 끊임없이 새로운 시스템이 적용되고 있다. 이러한 시스템은 다수의 FOB 키를 사용하기 때문에 사용자 인증 시 원활한 다중 접속을 위해 충돌방지 알고리즘을 적용시켜 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다수의 FOB 키를 사용하는 차량용 스마트키 시스템에서 동적으로 사용자 아이디 요청 순서를 최근 사용자 아이디로 변경하여 차후 인증 과정에서의 통신 응답 소요 시간을 획기적으로 감소시키는 향상된 충돌방지 알고리즘을 설계하고 구현하였다. 향상된 충돌방지 알고리즘이 적용된 시스템의 성능 평가를 위해 차량에 실제 장착하여 구현된 알고리즘의 동작을 확인하였고, 다수의 FOB 키에 대한 통신 응답 소요 시간을 측정하였을 때 기존 알고리즘에 비해 약 33% 정도 감소되었음을 검증하였다.

SIL을 이용한 근접장 기록계에서의 서보 방식의 개발 (Improvement Air Gap Control for SIL based Near-Field Recording System)

  • A high density optical data storage device has been required for many years. In the field of the optical data storage, a near-field recording (NFR) technology is considered as a next generation one for achieving the high data density. Due to an evanescent wave effect occurred under 100nm distance which is the excessively small distance between the SIL and the disc, the most significant and difficult problem in this technology is to maintain a gap between a solid immersion lens (SIL) and a disc. Also, maintaining the gap under at least 50nm is required in the NFR gap servo system to use the evanescent wave effect efficiently. There are some institutes that have shown the novel gap servo control. In general, they use a mode switching servo method which consists of approach, hand-over and gap control mode. However there is a critical problem such as an overshoot at the tuning point from the approach mode to the hand-over mode, which may cause a collision between the SIL and the disc. In this paper, we show our NFR system and an improved gap servo system using an exponential function as the approach mode which can reduce the overshoot.
