미국 방사선사 면허제도와 기본 교육과정에 대한 고찰 : 텍사스주 일개 대학 사례를 중심으로 (A Study on Radiologic Technologist's License System and Primary Pathway Education Curriculum in the United States American : Focused on One Case of College in Texas)

  • The purpose of this study was to study on radiologic technologist's license system and primary pathway education curriculum in the United States American (USA), focused on one case of college in Texas. We were collected and analyzed through class participation at a community college in Tarrant, interviews with professors of radiologic science and clinical radiographers, field trips, an internet search, and literature reviews. As a result, first, the American radiologic technologists license system is composed of fifteen chapters, and the professional education courses for each field are being carried out through three courses of a primary pathway, a post primary pathway and a physician extender. Second, the primary pathway courses consisted the radiography, the radiation therapy, the nuclear medicine, the magnetic resonance imaging, the sonography. Third, the USA had about 30 times more clinical practice time than Korea. In clinical practice, students had done actually examination through X-ray exposure on patients. Last radiographers in the USA was able to perform intravenous injection of radiopharmaceutical agents on patient, so that he could perform rapid examination and efficient manpower operation. This study could be used as basic data for the globalization of radiologic technologists license system in Korea.

화병 한의 평가도구 개발을 위한 기초 연구 (Preliminary Study to Develop the Instrument of Oriental Medical Evaluation for Hwa-Byung)

  • Objectives : This study was performed to develop a standard instrument of oriental medical evaluation for hwa-byung. Methods : The advisor committee on this study was organized by 17 neuropsychiatry professors of oriental medical colleges. The items and structure of the instrument were quoted from the instrument of pattern identification for hwa-byung. We took consultation twice from the advisor committee and we also took additional advices by e-mail. Results : We discriminated between bian-zheng and su-zheng from the answers of the advisor committee. We got the mean weight of each symptom and sign from the answers of the advisor committee. We got the final weight from the combination of the ratio of bian-zheng to the number of all answers of the advisor committee and mean weight. Conclusions : The instrument of oriental medical evaluation for hwa-byung was developed through experts' discussion. If the validity and reliability of this instrument is confirmed through additional clinical trial, the instrument of oriental medical evaluation for hwa-byung is expected to be applied to the subsequent research.

  • The Internet is an important tool in contemporary society. This study was carried out to investigate current use of internet and to suggest effective development of it in the field of physical therapy. A sample of physical therapy members in the internet responded to the questionare by means of e-mail from 26, April to 14. May. 1999. Of the 98 subjects, 26 completed the questionnaire, a response rate of $26.53\%$. The results were as follows. The most important problem to use internet in the field of physical therapy was poor information and abscence of database. The exchange of information among members, search database, virtual lecture system and distance treatment counseling in the future were expected. All members, professors of university and college, physical therapists in clinic and students must cooperate to construct database and useful information.

간호사에서 교수로의 역할적응 경험 (Experience of Role Adaptation from Nurse to Member of the Nursing Faculty)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study was to evaluate the experience of role adaptation from nurse to member of the nursing faculty. Methods: Data were collected from 13 members of a nursing faculty through in-depth interviews. The main question asked was "Could you describe your experience from being a nurse to becoming a member of the nursing faculty?" Qualitative data from the field and transcribed notes were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Results: The core experiential category of role adaptation from nurse to member of the nursing faculty was 'striving for survival from culture shock'. The participants used the following three interactional strategies: 'recognizing everything and entering the school environment', 'self-reflection on being a professor and integration of experiences', and 'finding a way of adapting'. Conclusion: The participants tried to adapt to life as a professor and reflected on and integrated their experiences into their new life on the faculty. College faculty need to understand the impact of changes and challenges faced by new professors during role adaptation and to support this adaptation through mentorship and organized orientation programs.

건강진단 대상질환 선정 및 건강진단의 정확성 평가 (Periodic Health Examination : Selection of Manageable Diseases and Evaluation of the Sensitivity and Specificity)

  • The purpose of this study was to select the manageable diseases which are prevalent in Korea for periodic health examinations and to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of periodic health examination in detecting these diseases. The data was derived from reimbursement data of the Korea Medical Insurance Corporation over a two year period (April 15, 1986 to April 14,1988) and interviews with Yonsei Medical School professors. This study demonstrated that: 1. The manageable diseases which were selected for periodic health examinations are pulmonary tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, diabetes mellitus, syphilis groups, essential hypertension, renal disease groups, and iron deficiency anemia. 2. The sensitivity of the health screening for each disease was as follows: pulmonary tuberculosis 51.5%, viral hepatitis 60.3%, diabetes mellitus 64.7%, syphilis groups 63.3%, essential hypertension 49.9%, renal disease groups 44.0%, and iron deficiency anemia 80.9%. We conclude that peiodic health esaminations should focus on the manageable diseases that we have defined. The number of items in periodic health screening tests and hospital quality control should be increased for the diseases with a demonstrated low sensitivity.

논문의 주저자 결정에 미치는 영향 (Effect of The First Authors Determine to Paper)

  • 본 연구는 2010년 9월부터 2010년 12월까지 치위생학 교육자 171명을 대상으로 연구윤리의 내용 중 저자순서 및 저자범위 결정에 대한 인식과 경험을 조사하고 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 본인연구의 저자 결정자가 누구냐는 질문에 55.6%의 과반수 이상이 '지도교수'라고 응답했으며, 저자결정의 경험도에서 내 연구에 참여하지 않았음에도 다른 사람을 공저자로 등재시킨 경험이 있느냐는 질문에 68.4%가 '그렇다'라고 가장 높게 응답했다. 2. 저자의 범위 및 순서결정 인식의 4점 척도 조사결과, '결과해석이나 중요한 정보를 기여한 사람이 제 1저자가 되는 것은 아니다' $2.81{\pm}.485$로 가장 높게 나타났으며, '초벌 번역을 한 사람에게는 공동저자의 자격이 있다'에 대해서는 $2.60{\pm}.538$로 가장 낮게 조사 되었다. 3. 인구사회학적 특성과 저자자격 인식의 연관성 중 통계적으로 가장 유의하게 나온 항목은 주저자로서의 논문편수였으며, 이 중 주저자로서의 9-14편의 논문을 갖고 있는 응답자에서 '데이터를 모으고 기록하며 문헌을 살피는 일을 도운 학생은 저자자격이 있다'와 '초벌 번역을 한 사람에게는 공동저자의 자격이 있다' 에서 각각 $2.89{\pm}.315$, $2.79{\pm}.419$로 가장 높게 조사돼 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 4. 저자자격 인식간의 관련 변인간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 모두 정의 상관관계로 나타났으며, 이 중 '데이터를 모으고 기록하며 문헌을 살피는 일을 도운 학생도 저자자격이 있다'와 '초벌번역을 한 사람에게는 공동저자의 자격이 있다'가 가장 높은 상관관계(r=.433)로 조사돼 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<0.01). 결론적으로 연구자간의 갈등을 줄이기 위해서는 저자결정에 대한 기준을 설정하고 이를 교육하는 것이 시급할 것으로 사료된다. 또한 그 과정에서 당사자들의 논의가 중요하고 이러한 논의와 합의 과정을 통해 연구자간의 갈등이 생기지 않도록 하는 것이 최선의 방법이라고 판단된다.

국내 의과대학 교수들의 Science Citation Index (SCI) 이용 실태 및 SCI 학술지에 대한 인지도(認知度) 조사 연구 (A Study on the Use of Science Citation Index (SCI) and Awareness of SCI Source Journals by Faculty Members at Korean Medical Colleges)

  • 본 연구는 국내 의학 연구자들의 SCI 이용 실태와 SCI 학술지에 대한 인지도를 규명하기 위하여, 국내 4개의 유수한 의과대학에 재지 중인 교수 902명 중 무작위 추출한 180명 $(20\%)$을 대상으로 설문지 조사를 시행하여 104명 (회신율$57.8\%$)의 설문응답 내용을 분석하였다. 국내 의학자들은 필요한 의학 정보를 찾을 때 SCI는 별로 이용하지 않는다. 대신에 대부분의 국내 의학 도서관이 소장하고 있어 그 이용이 편리한 MEDLINE을 집중적으로 사용하고 있다. 또한. 국내의 많은 의학자들이 SCI 학술지의 Impact factor list를 Journal Citation Reports (JCR)로. JCR을 색인지인 SCI로 혼동 또는 동일시하고 있었다. 즉 국내에서 SCI에 대한 지식과 용도는 색인의 기능이라기 보다는 Impact factor 정보원의 기능이다. Impact factor에 대한 관심은 SCI 학술지에 논문을 투고해야 한다는 목적의식과 밀접하게 연계되어 있을 뿐이다. 본 연구의 대상이 되었던 의과대학들은 국내 타 의과대학보다 좋은 연구여건을 갖추었을 터인데도. 소속 교수들이 SCI. SCI 학술지 그리고 Impact factor에 대하여 정보 부족 및 부재 현상을 겪고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고. 이들의 각 분야별 국내외 주요 학술지에 대한 주관적인 인지도는 인용문헌 분석에 의하여 선정된 SCI 학술지의 범위. Impact factor 순위와 상당 부분 일치하고 있다. 그러므로 국내 의학 교수들에게 SCI 학술지에 논문을 발표하도록 독려하는 방안이나, SCI 학술지에 논문 게재 여부로 연구 업적을 평가하는 정책은 긍정적으로 검토되어 질 수 있겠다.

조선시대 의료관청의 겸교수 제도의 변화 (Changes in the Adjunct professor system of medical offices in the Joseon Dynasty)

  • To be an adjunct professor(gyeomgyosu) literally means to act as an instructor while also holding a different position. Adjunct professors were initially introduced under Confucianism. Gradually, technical offices also appointed adjunct professors using Confucian-educated bureaucrats for the purpose of educating lower-level technical officials and cadets. This paper examines the history of the civil service system related to adjunct professors through the Code of Laws, and examines those who have been appointed to the public office described in various documents. This paper argues that changes in the medical office's adjunct professor system reflect changes in the national medical talent training policy. The main basis of specific recognizing medical personnel is to decouple the appointment of Confucian scholars from that of full-time doctors. The replacement of the role of medical educators from Confucian scholars to full-time doctors was largely accomplished during the reign of King Jungjong(中宗) and was completed during the period of King Injo(仁祖). The time when Euiyakdongcham was created and the Office of Euiyakdongcham was established coincided with the period when the adjunct professor was disrupted in the medical office. However, this change in the adjunct professor system of medical authorities is in contrast to interpretation, which is a representative technical field. In the case of interpretation, Moonshin's sayeogwon position as adjunct professor was maintained even in the late Joseon Dynasty, and apart from this, there was a hanhagmunsin in Seungmunwon. Interpreter families had institutional arrangements that prevented them from making interpretation their own monopoly. Therefore, families of medical bureaucrats had more room for institutional growth than those of bureaucratic interpreters. Of course, these institutional devices did not prevent the growth of interpreting bureaucratic families in the late Joseon Dynasty. However, the situation in which medicine was accepted only as a kind of knowledge, not as an object of full-time work for sadaebue, would have been an opportunity to rise for those in technical jobs who were full-time medicine. As medicine became more differentiated and developed in the late Joseon Dynasty, medical knowledge and the knowledge about the medical profession became more important. The politicians could not avoid the use of a philosophically oriented system in which a confucian-educated bureaucrat equipped with only Confucian knowledge might replace a full-time doctor. Thus, the contradiction between the reality and the ideal of ignoring or denying reality was reproduced like other Confucian-centered societies. These contradictions have implications for us living in the modern age. Establishing the relationship between philosophy (or belief) and technology should not end with the superiority of one side or the other.

지역사회 치위생관리과정에 기반한 지역사회치위생학 실습 학습목표 타당화 연구 (A study on the validation of learning goals of community dental hygiene practicum based on the community dental hygiene process of care)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to define the concept of the community dental hygiene process of care and to develop competency-based learning goals applying the community dental hygiene process of care. Methods: Based on 12 references, the concept of community dental hygiene process of care was defined, and 393 learning objectives were derived to carry out the first and second categorization process. The 57 learning goals were classified according to the 15-week learning subject (once a week) for project learning. To evaluate the validity of the developed learning subjects and goals, 80 community dental hygiene professors were surveyed. The final learning subjects and goals were created by going through the process of collecting opinions from the 35 validity evaluation results received as responses, and opinions from 10 community dental hygiene professors. Results: The first and second validity surveys on the operational definition of community dental hygiene process of care showed 4.32 points and 4.60 points, respectively. As a result of the evaluation of the validity of the learning subjects and goals for 1~15 weeks, the average validity of the learning subjects was 4.44 points, and of learning goals was 4.32 points. Conclusions: The learning subjects and goals developed by applying the theoretical framework for community dental hygiene process of care defined in this study can be used as a learning guideline for learners to understand the theory of community dental hygiene area and to derive the standards of competence in the field of practice.

임상실습 교육을 위한 간호학 교수의 실무참여에 관한 연구 (A Study of Faculty Practice for Clinical Teaching)

  • Nurse educators are being encouraged to intergrated the role of faculty practice into the role expectations of the education institutes. Schools of nursing are faced with challenge of the faculty who wishes to adopt facilitating practical role. Also directors of nursing department in hospitals point out the lack of competences for nursing care of new graduated nurse. This survey study was conducted to clarify the factors that faculty who engages on practice in the clinical teaching are to facilitate or inhibit. In this study, 55 head nurses of university hospital and 30 professors of nursing school were assigned to complete the questionnaire. Results of this study are as follows : 1) Head nurse : The most actively participated nursing activities in student's clinical teaching are medication, injection, vital sign checking and bed making. The problems of clinical leaching are lack of direct care of Professors, overloaded work of head nurses, passive learning attitudes of nursing students and less priority about clinical teaching of academic administrator's perception. 2) Nursing professor Facilitators of faculty practices are negative perception about clinical practice of both nursing professor and academic administrator. Inhibitors of faculty practice are negligence of the clinical teaching, lack of the practicing capability and lack of administration system on practical education by head of the school. There, following strategies are suggested for facilitating faculty practice : 1. Faculty practice focused on clinical teaching must be emphasized for academic administration. 2. Nurse educators must keep continuing clinical practice in their specific area. 3. Collaboration between school of nursing and hospital promotes effectiveness of the clinical practice for nursing students.
