Objective : To investigate the epidemiology of newly-diagnosed, histologically-confirmed (NDHC) central nervous system (CNS) tumours and its changes over a 21-year period in a regional hospital in Hong Kong. Methods : This is a single-institute retrospective descriptive study of patients undergoing surgery for CNS tumours in a regional hospital of Hong Kong in the period from January 1996 to December 2016. The histological definition of CNS tumours was according to the World Health Organization classification, while the site definition for case ascertainment of CNS tumours was as set out by the Central Brain Tumour Registry of the United States. Patients of any age, who had NDHC CNS tumours, either primary or secondary, were included. The following parameters of the patients were retrieved : age at diagnosis, gender, tumour location, and histological diagnosis. Population data were obtained from sources provided by the Government of Hong Kong. The incident rate, estimated by the annual number of cases per 100000 population, for each histology grouping was calculated. Statistical analyses, both including and excluding brain metastases, were performed. Statistical analysis was performed with Microsoft Excel, 2016 (Microsoft, Redmond, WA, USA). Results : Among the 2134 cases of NDHC CNS tumours, there were 1936 cases of intracranial tumours and 198 cases of spinal tumours. The annual number of cases per 100000 population of combined primary intracranial and spinal CNS tumours was 3.6 in 1996, and 11.1 in 2016. Comparing the 5-year average annual number of cases per 100000 population of primary CNS tumours from the period 1996-2000 to 2011-2015, there was an 88% increase, which represent an increase in the absolute number of cases by 4.52 cases/100000 population. This increase was mainly contributed by benign histologies. In the aforementioned periods, meningiomas increased by 1.45 cases/100000 population; schwannomas by 1.05 cases/100000 population, and pituitary adenomas by 0.91 cases/100000 population. While gliomas had a fluctuating 5-year average annual number of cases per 100000 population, it only had an absolute increase of 0.51 cases/100000 population between the 2 periods, which was mainly accounted for by the change in glioblastomas. Conclusion : This retrospective study of CNS tumour epidemiology revealed increasing trends in the incidences of several common CNS tumour histologies in Hong Kong, which agrees with the findings in large-scale studies in Korea and the United States. It is important for different geographic locations to establish their own CNS tumour registry with well-defined and structured data collection and analysis system to meet the international standards.
The study had two objectives, namely, to estimate the andrological disorders leading to disposal of Karan Fries (KF), Sahiwal cattle and Murrah buffalo bulls and to study the effect of various factors (species/breeds, season of birth and period of birth) on male reproductive parameters. Records on occurrence of subfertility problems and disposal pattern of bulls maintained at the National Dairy Research Institute herd were collected for 15 years (1991 to 2005). Percentage of bulls producing freezable semen was less in the crossbred cattle (58.46%) as compared to Sahiwal (81.69%) and Murrah bulls (81.05%). Various subfertility traits like poor libido and unacceptable seminal profile were found to be the significant reasons (p<0.01) for culling of the breeding bulls. Inadequate sex drive was the main contributing factor for bull disposal in Sahiwal (22.55%) and Murrah bulls (15.12%) whereas poor semen quality and freezability were most frequently observed in KF bulls (24.29 and 7.29 percent, respectively). Least squares analyses of different male reproductive parameters showed that species/breeds had significant effect (p<0.05) on all traits except for frozen semen production periods (FSPP). Periods of birth were significantly different (p<0.05) for all traits except for semen volume. Age at first semen collection (AFSC), age at first semen freezing (AFSF) and age at disposal (AD) were highest in Murrah, while frozen semen production period (FSPP) and semen production period (SPP) were highest in KF and lowest in Sahiwal. The age at first semen donation and breeding period could be reduced by introducing the bulls to training at an early age. These results revealed a declining trend in AFSC, AFSF, FSPP, SPP and AD, thereby indicating an improvement in reproductive performance over the years. The age at first semen donation in bovines can be reduced by introducing the young male calves to training at an early age, which could increase the dosage of semen obtained from each male.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the NCASA (Nursing Child Assessment Sleep/Activity Record) would be suitable to evaluate and to provide the basic resources for a Korean model of sleep/activity patterns during the first 6 months Korean infants' lives and to provide a basis for nursing intervention for mothers of early infants. This study was conducted to for the development of nursing education programs suitable for the period by identifying the unmet needs of kidney transplant surgery patients who need continuous self-care according to the elapsed period. The subjects of the study consisted of 84 inpatients and outpatients for up to 1 year after kidney transplant surgery. The data collection period was from February 17 to May 31, 2020, and the collected data were analyzed by Chi-square, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and post-test by Scheffé using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. As a measurement tool, the Comprehensive Needs Assessment Tool in Cancer(CNAT), a tool to assess unmet needs of cancer patients, was modified and supplemented to receive expert validity, and then self-report through a questionnaire consisting of a total of 57 questions. As a result of the study, the average of the total score out of 171points for the unmet needs of kidney transplant patients was 68.28(±38.88), and information and education accounted for the highest score of 17.92(±8.36) out of the eight sub-areas. The unmet needs according to the elapsed period were significantly higher in the 6 months ~1 year group(F=7.57, p=.001) compared to the 3-6 months group. Based on this, it is necessary to develop a nursing intervention program that can provide appropriate information and support at a time when the unmet needs of patients up to increase from 6 months to one year after kidney transplantation increase.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the utilization of major learning tools among radiology science students and assess the accuracy of a conversational artificial intelligence service program, specifically a chatbot, in the context of the national radiologic technologist licensing exam. The survey revealed that 84.3% of radiology science students actively utilize electronic devices during their learning process. In addition, 104 out of 140 respondents said they use search engines as a top priority for efficient data collection while studying. When asked about their awareness of chatbots, 80% of participants responded affirmatively, and 22.9% reported having used chatbots for academic purposes at least once. From 2018 to 2022, exam questions from the first and second periods were presented to the chatbot for answers. The results showed that ChatGPT's accuracy in answering first period questions increased from 48.28% to 60%, while for second period questions, it increased from 50% to 62.22%. Bing's accuracy in answering first period questions improved from 55% to 64.55%, and for second period questions, it increased from 48% to 52.22%. The study confirmed the general trend of radiology science students utilizing electronic devices for learning and obtaining information through the internet. However, conversational artificial intelligence service programs in the field of radiation science face challenges related to accuracy and reliability, and providing perfect solutions remains difficult, highlighting the need for continuous development and improvement.

Objective : Exploring protein requirements for critically ill patients has become prominent. On the other hand, considering the significant impact of coma therapy and targeted temperature management (TTM) on the brain as well as systemic metabolisms, protein requirements may plausibly be changed by treatment application. However, there is currently no research on protein requirements following the application of these treatments. Therefore, the aim of this study is to elucidate changes in patients' protein requirements during the application of TTM and coma therapy. Methods : This study is a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from March 2019 to May 2022. Among the patients admitted to the intensive care unit, those receiving coma therapy and TTM were included. The patient's treatment period was divided into two phases (phase 1, application and maintenance of coma therapy and TTM; phase 2, tapering and cessation of treatment). In assessing protein requirements, the urine urea nitrogen (UUN) method was employed to estimate the nitrogen balance, offering insight into protein utilization within the body. The patient's protein requirement for each phase was defined as the amount of protein required to achieve a nitrogen balance within ±5, based on the 24-hour collection of UUN. Changes in protein requirements between phases were analyzed. Results : Out of 195 patients, 107 patients with a total of 214 UUN values were included. The mean protein requirement for the entire treatment period was 1.84±0.62 g/kg/day, which is higher than the generally recommended protein supply of 1.2 g/kg/day. As the treatment was tapered, there was a statistically significant increase in the protein requirement from 1.49±0.42 to 2.18±0.60 in phase 2 (p<0.001). Conclusion : Our study revealed a total average protein requirement of 1.84±0.62 g during the treatment period, which falls within the upper range of the preexisting guidelines. Nevertheless, a notable deviation emerged when analyzing the treatment application period separately. Hence, it is recommended to incorporate considerations for the type and timing of treatment, extending beyond the current guideline, which solely accounts for the severity by disease.

In order to set up a predictive model for effective spat collection of pen shell, Atrina (Servatrina) pectinata, the survival rate and time required at each developmental stage of drifting larvae were surveyed during the period from June 8 to October 16 in 1986 at the Yongku inlet Chilchon Is., Chinhae Bay, the southern part of Korea. And also the experiments of spat collection were carried out In Yongku inlet during the period from July 6 to November 23 in 1987 and In Yoja Bay during the period from July 9 in 1987 to February 15 in 1588. The advent of D-shape larvae ca. $135\times144um $ long had three peaks in that area: August 1, 12 and 25. Umbo shape larvae ca. $300\times317um$ and full grown larvae ca. $455\times450um$ long also sowed three peaks: August 9, August 22 and September 4 for the former, and August 23, September 3 and September 16 for the latter. Nine to ten days was required for D-shape larvae to develop to umbo shape larvae. The instantaneous survival rate was 0.94 with a total survival rate if $54\%$ at this intermorphological stage. The required time of umbo to full grown larvae varied from twelve to fourteen days with a instantaneous survival rate of 0.88 and total survival rate of $19\%$. Twenty-two to twenty-three days was required for each group of the D-shape larvae to reach a fullgrown stage, and their total survival rate was $10\%$ during this developmental period. The number of the spat attached to the spat collector is 0.16 inds. per $m^2$ vertical spat collector in Yongku inlet and 0.48 inds. per $m^2$ horizontal spat collector in Yoja Bay. The average shell length of spat attached was $0.51({\pm}0.15)\;mm$ on September $27,\;38.52({\pm}6.98)\;mm$ on November 21 in 1987 and $49.00({\pm}10.77)mm$ on February 15 in 1988.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors related to high school students' fear of dental treatment and distrust for dentists, analyze the relation between these factors and dental health services utilization, and then apply basis data for providing individualized dental health service. The period of the data collection was from November 1st to November 22th 2013, and the subjects were 300 of the first-year high school students in Daugu, and the final analysis data were total 280. using frequency, T-test, correlation and multiple regression analysis, the results of this study were as follows. The higher the distrust for dentist(${\beta}=0.322$) and the burden of dental visit(${\beta}=0.161$), fear of Dental treatment was increased. The larger the fear of Dental treatment and Past experienced pain level, distrust for dentist was increased. therefore, In order to decrease patients' distrust for dentists, good communication between patients and doctors, and efficient treat plans were needed. As a result, patients should have positive attitude on treat. Through early detection and early treatment of oral disease, effective dental health care services with decreasing the fear of dental care system should be provided.
