A technique which could collect the traditional and the industrial hanji fibrous sludge efficiently from wastewater using a cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) was developed. When the concentration of CTAC was $1{\mu}g/mL$ in wastewater that the amount of the traditional hanji fibrous sludge was about 0.08 g/L, the collecting yield was more than 95% and the collecting time was less than 30 sec. When only CTAC was used to collect the industrial hanji fibrous sludge, about 90% of collecting yield was obtained at more than $15{\mu}g/mL$ CTAC. But the sludge layer at the surface of solution was not stabilized and the flotation time was relatively longer. And, when $5{\mu}g/mL$ CTAC and various amount of PAMID$^{(R)}$ was added to the industrial hanji sludge, the collecting yield was increased and sludge layer also was more stabilized. But the collecting yield was higher in the traditional hanji sludge than in the industrial hanji sludge.
The decolorization of wastewater and the collecting conditions of final sludge from hanji production were investigated. Black wastewater (50 mL) from the process cooking with NaOH could be effectively decolorized by 2.0 g of $Ca(OCl)_2$ So, if excess bleach $Ca(OCl)_2$ used in bleaching process were recycled, the decolorization of wastewater by adding less $Ca(OCl)_2$ would be successfully realized. However, the decolorization by electrolyzed oxidation was ineffective. The final sludge could be effectively collected by polymer coagulator, but the addition of $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ was required, and the pure fibrous sludge could not be collected. Therefore, surfactants such as triethanolamine and Triton X-100 were used instead of polymer coagulator. The collecting yield was obtained about 85% as good as those by polymer coagulator. When mixed surfactants were used in collecting the final sludge, $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ was not required. In addition, as the pure fibrous sludge could be collected, the effective recycling of sludges would be done.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of timing of collecting date and concentration of IBA and NAA, in order to enhance initial activity and seedling quality of domestic strawberry. Strawberry cuttings were separately taken twice, in June 7 and in July 5, and IBA and NAA were treated with the concentrations of 0.025, 0.05 and 0.1% at cutting date, respectively. The seedlings were evaluated for the percentage of survival during 18 days at 6 times after tunnel cultivation. The NAA treatment was inappropriate for strawberry cutting due to the high rate of seedling mortality, regardless of the collecting date. The vitality of the seedlings was highest at IBA 0.1% in June collecting and at IBA 0.05% in July collecting. The seedlings from June collecting had a higher quantum yield at IBA 0.1% and the seedlings from July collecting at IBA 0.05%. Therefore, IBA could be more effectively applied than NAA to promote the vitality and quality with the appropriate concentration of 0.1% at June collecting and 0.05% at July collecting, respectively.
The technique that could collect efficiently the hanji fibrous sludge from wastewater using surfactants was developed. When fibrous sludge of which concentration was about 80mg/L, was floated and collected, the optimum concentration of sodium oleate, the pore size of glass filter and the air flow rate were 10mg/L, $5-10{\mu}m$ and 200mL/min., respectively. The behavior of sodium oleate might be interfered by polyvalent cations such as $Ca^{2+}$. But when the concentration of $Ca^{2+}$ was less than 100mg/L, the interference effect did not appear. And when a typical cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB), was used, the collecting yield was less than that of sodium oleate, and the amount of foam was higher than sodium oleate. When 1mg/L of CTAB was added to the hanji sludge sample contained 1mg/L of $PAMID^{(R)}$, a dispersant, fibrous sludge was effectively coagulated, the flotation time was very short and the collecting yield was above 95%. But in the case, sodium oleate was inefficient.
This study was conducted to develop effective production system in greenhouse for leaves and stems of Angelica acutiloba by fertilizing of Sta-Green in pots. The results obtained are summarized as follows. Germination rate of Angelica acutiloba seeds collected in 2003 was $13\%$, while germination rate of seeds Collected in 2004 was above $91\%$. Seed germination rate and plant biomass of Angelica acutiloba collected in 2004 were higher than seed gathering in 2003. Especially, plant growth and yield of Angelica acutiloba grown in pot(The pots was filled with soil mixtures of Sta-Green and Peat Moss mixed with 45:55 ratio.) was the highest. These results indicate that leaf and stem production of Angelica acutiloba can be improved by fertilizing of Sta-Green in pots and optimizing seed collecting time in greenhouse.
We report here an improved collecting method of the infective juveniles multiplied in the host insect with the entomopathogenic nematodes, Steinernema carpocapsae Weiser. The specific characteristics of this method involved the opening of the host insect hemocoel after the population of their infective juveniles reached at the maximum (6 days at 25$\^{C}$ after nematode treatment to nonimmunized host insects) to facilitate the escape of the multiplied nematodes. It also used 'Baermann funnel'method to select the infective juveniles effectively. This improved 'Baermann funnel'method was compared with a traditional collecting method, which was characterized with a combination of untreated host insects and 'White trap'collecting method, in both yield and pathogenicity of the collected infective juveniles to the fifth instar larvae of beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (H bner). More than 95% of the nematode populations collected by the two methods represented the morphological infective juveniles. To prove the nematodes to be infective juveniles functionally, pathogenicity and infective activity were compared in the nematodes collected by the two methods. They were not different in both pathogenicities and infective activities which were measured by the numbers of nematodes penetrated into the hemocoel of the insect hosts after exposure for the specific times to the same dote of infective juveniles. Significant difference between two collecting methods was found in the total yields of the infective juveniles per host insect About 50,000 infective juveniles per infected fifth instar larva of S. exigua after 6 day incubation at 25$\^{C}$ were collected only for 2 days by the improved 'Baermann funnel'method, while about 20,000 infective juveniles per host were collected for 10 days by the classical 'White trap'method.
This study was conducted to develop effective production system in greenhouse for leaves and stems of Angelica acutiloba by using connect pots in 2003 and 2004. Seed germination rate and plant biomass of Angelica acutiloba collected in 2004 were higher than those harvested in 2003. Germination rate of Angelica acutiloba seeds collected in 2003 was 10%, while germination rate of seeds collected in 2004 was above 90%. Especially, plant growth and yield of Angelica acutiloba grown in connect pots sized with 4 ${\times}$ 4 ${\times}$ 5cm(length ${\times}$ width ${\times}$ height) were the highest. These results indicate that leaf and stem production of Angelica acutiloba can be improved by using connect pots and optimizing seed collecting time in greenhouse.
Purpose: This study aims to analyze the management performance and production efficiency of strawberry farmers who introduced smart farming, one of the primary symbols of the fourth industrial revolution in the agricultural sector. Methods: We conducted an empirical survey of strawberry farms using smart farming and analyzed production efficiency using DEA method. Results: First, difficulties for strawberry farmers introducing smart farming included time and money spent on parts replacement and additional costs due to compatibility problems with existing facilities after the adoption. Second, strawberry farmers using smart farming increased their total income by producing higher yield and improving quality thanks to the competent growth management. Third, the analysis of production efficiencies before and after smart farming found improvement in technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency, and scale efficiency. But, the gaps in technical and scale efficiencies among the farms widened. Conclusion: Based on the results above, following policy suggestions are offered. First, an environment control technology suitable for strawberry farming needs to be developed. Second, the smart farming technology needs to be standardized by the government. Third, new smart farm models need to be developed to accommodate to the facilities and environment in Korea through collecting big data including high-quality data on the environment, growth, and yield. Fourth, continuing education needs to be provided to narrow the gap in smart farming technology among strawberry farmers.
We collected and examined germplasm resources of lettuces, edible chrysanthemums and mallows for organic farmers. We found that 3 genotypes (OL-51, OL-52, and OL-63) are suitable for organic cultivation. The main use of treatment for grey mold among eco-friendly pest control methods is helpful to increase efficiency of seed-gathering after collecting and evaluating a total of 64 kinds of lettuces-collected 43 South Korea local varieties, 8 kinds cultivated by the Highland Agriculture Research Center, 4 kinds of cultivated lettuces, and 9 kinds for sales- to choose appropriate kinds of lettuces for organic cultivation in South Korea. We chose those with more than 300 leaves (OC-18, OC-44, and OC-51) after evaluation of yield characteristics of a total of 62 edible chrysanthemums. We covered each genotype of seed of edible chrysanthemums when gathering the seeds by ourselves so as not to decrease the purity of each genotype. We chosed OM-38, OM-39, and OM-40 for their yield performance and germination rates among the total 41 genotypes of mallows. We selected 9 genotypes of lettuces, editable chrysanthemums and mallows with possibility of organic cultivation and found that they can be used permanently through self seed-gathering on organic farms.
For the preparation of $^{99m}Tc$-labeled RBC, $10{\sim}20\;{\mu}g/kg$ of Stannous(II) chloride and $10{\sim}40\;min$ of preparation was used. For finding out the effect of contrast agent, the blood samples were collected in three days, seven days, and 1 months after the diagnostic procedure. In the normal volunteer, the concentration of reducing agent and preparation time did not effect on the radiochemical yield. But in the patients, 10 mg of Stannous(II) chloride and 60 min incubation times was shown high radiochemical yield. Contrast agent has a significant effect on the radiochemical yield. Although the blood samples which were collected after seven days of diagnostic procedure did not effect on the radiochemical yield of $^{99m}Tc$-labeled RBC, but the radiochemical yield of $^{99m}Tc$-labeled RBC which was prepared with a sample of high concentration of contrast agent in blood led to low radiochemical yield. For these samples, the modified method showed high radiochemical yield than previous in vivo preparation method. The recommended method is followed. Blood collecting was performed at 30 minutes after injection of reducing agent, and it is centrifuged for removal of plasma. After addition of $^{99m}TcO^-_4$, sample reservoir was rotated. After addition of normal saline, and it is centrifuged for separation of saline. Then $^{99m}Tc$-labeled RBC was obtained after removal of saline.
