Cigarette beetle, Lasioderma serricorne F.(Coleoptera : Anobiidae), is one of the most serious insect pest of stored leaf tobacco in Korea. The first adults of their ecto-parasitic hymenoptera, Lariophagus ditinguendus F. (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), were emerged in late June in 1992, in early May in 1993 and 1995, in late May in 1994 and 1996. This parasitic hymenoptera had two peak times of adults emergence. The first one was from late June to early July and the 2nd peak time in the Suwon area occurred from late August to early September in 1993, 1994 and 1996, and late September in 1992 and 1995.

Three species of the genus Euphoriomyces (Laboulbeniales) were found newly from Korea. E. agathidii (Maire) Tavales was collected from Agathidium sp. (Leiodidae, Coleoptera). The characteristic traits of this species are the distal portion of the primary axis composed of $5{\sim}11$ superposed layers and bearing more or less the elongated appendages. E. cybocephali (Thaxter) Thaxter was collected from Pseudocolenis hilleri Reitter (Leiodidae, Coleoptera). The primary axis of this species composed of $5{\sim}9$ superposed layers is simple, not branched and a single antheridium occurs on the apex of the secondary axis. E. sugiyamae Majewski was collected from Scaphisoma rufum Achard (Scaphidiidae, Coleoptera). This species is very unique in having the antheridia formed as coner cells with lateral necks.

The coleoptera is the most species-rich order of animals. Relatively little is known about Coleoptera genes and genome. We describe here the construction and DNA sequencing of cDNA libraries from Protaetia brevizarsis, a fruit tree pest in Korea. We sequenced and analyzed 3072 ESTs from wholebody of Protaetia brevizarsis larvae. (omitted)

강원도 홍천군 규방산에서 채집된 1종의 곤충이 똥풍뎅이과의 똥풍뎅이족에 속하나 비분식성인 신속 및 신종이기에 이를 톱니땅풍뎅이속의 톱니땅풍뎅이(Koreoxyomus koreanus gen. et sp. nov.)로 명명 기재하였다. 아울러 일본산인 Mozartius속에 대하여 분 류학적으로 검토하였는데 이는 본 신속이 이속과 동일한 분류군인 것으로 보이나 Mozartius의 원기재에 기술된 특징이 매우 불완전하며 보충연구나 추가기재도 없어서 정상 적인 분류군명으로 인정하기 어렵기 때문이었다.

A taxonomic review of the Korean Lycocerus (Cantharidae, Coleoptera) was presented. Through this study, total of four species were found from Korea including a species new to Korea, Lycocerus striatus. We newly provided a key to the Korean Lycocerus species and the distributional map on each species in this study.

Last instar larvae of Chrysomela cuprea Fabricius, 1775 and C. tremula Fabricius, 1787 are described in detail for the first time. A key to known larvae of Korean Chrysomela, their illustrations and host plants are also given.

A taxonomic study of the genus Oxytelus Gravenhorst in Korea is presented. Seven species are recognized, three of which are identified for the first time in Korea (O. incisus Motschulsky, O. migrator Fauvel, and O. takahashii Ito). A key and diagnostic characters with illustrations are provided.

Twenty seven species of the subtribe Harpalina from the Korean Peninsula are mentioned here, of which the following six species have not yet been collected from South Korea: Harpalus simplicidens, Ophonus stricticollis, Trichotichnus lucidus, T. gerni, T. vicinus, and T. leptopus.

Herein, 29 species of the harpaline ground beetles are listed from the Korean Peninsula. Of these, distribution of the two species, Harpalus (Harpalus) tardus (Panzer 1797) and H. (H.) tibeticus hsifanicus Schauberger, 1932, are very doubtful in the Korean Peninsula.
