Various forms of visual representations enable scientific discovery and scientific reasoning when scientists conduct research. Similarly, in science education, visual representations are important as a means to promote students' understanding of science concepts and scientific thinking skills. To provide a framework that could facilitate the effective use of visual representations in science classroom and systemic science education research, a visual representation competence taxonomy (VRC-T) was developed in this study. VRC-T includes two dimensions: the type of visual representation, and the cognitive process of visual representation. The initial categories for each dimension were developed based on literature review. Then validation and revision was made by conducting teachers' workshop and survey to experts. The types of visual representations were grouped into 3 categories (descriptive, procedural, and explanative representations) and the cognitive processes were grouped into 3 categories (interpretation, integration, and construction). The sub categories of each dimension and the validation process would be explained in detail.

Consumers experience various cognitive and emotional contents of clothing through postpurchase process. These experiences may affect consumer satisfaction as well as brand attitude toward clothing products. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of consumption experiences on the brand attitude toward clothing products. The research questions for accomplishing the purpose of this study were to investigate 1) the dimension of consumption experiences, 2) relationships among consumption experience, satisfaction and brand attitude toward clothing. The sample of this study was consisted of 431 females. The survey method, and factor analysis and regression were utilized for this study. The results were as follows; First, it was found out the consumption was composed of two dimensions such as cognitive and emotional experiences. According to the result of factor analysis, the cognitive experiences through consumption process were composed of 6 factors, that is, the suitability, fitness, utility/economy, sewing, deformation, and management. And emotional experiences were composed of 5 factors, that is, unpleasure, activeycomfort, inter-oriented pleasure, extra- oriented pleasure, tension. Also emotional experiences could be composed of two dimensions, that is, positive and negative emotion. The positive emotions were included pleasure and active/comfort. The negative emotions were included unpleasure and tension. Second, the result of path analysis showed that consumption experiences were related to satisfaction and brand attitude. A satisfaction influenced on brand attitude more strongly than others. And sewing, activejcomfort, extra-oriented pleasure out of cognitive and emotional experience factors affected to brand attitude directly. Satisfaction was also influenced by cognitive and emotional factors, and was the important mediator in forming brand attitude toward clothing through consumption experience. Above results imply that consumer experience multidimensional cognitive and emotional aspects of clothing through consumption process. The cognitive and emotional aspects consisting of consumption experiences, satisfaction, and brand attitude are interrelated causally. Therefore, experience related variables could be the antecedents of satisfaction and brand attitude. The satisfaction and positive emotion could be also important factors in brand attitude toward clothing.

This study analyzed the learning objectives in the 2007 revised 10th grade Home Economics textbooks of 6 different publishing companies and the achievement standards developed by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology(2009). Two experienced coders performed initial analysis based on the 'revision of Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives' and had subsequent conferences to reach an agreement on different results between coders. For knowledge dimension, the results show that the major types of learning objectives in the "Future Family Life" unit are mainly consisted of factual knowledge and procedural knowledge, where as those of "Family Life Culture" unit are consisted of factual knowledge and conceptual knowledge. The achievement standards in both "Future Family Life" and "Family Life Culture" units are solely in a factual knowledge major type. The sub-type of knowledge dimension of both learning objectives and achievement standards fall into 'a specific facts and knowledge component'. For cognitive process dimension, the results show that the leaning objectives are focused on 'understand' and 'analyze'. Those of achievement standards are 'analyse' in the "Future Family Life" unit and 'understand' in the "Family Life Culture" units. From the result of this study, we can conclude that both learning objectives and achievement standards do not adapt any meta-cognitive knowledge, higher order thinking, and cognitive process.
The goal of this research is a visual and auditory tool development enabling designers to have the same emotional value with users in the process of user centered design. Through the research, we intend to show the aid measure for making cognitive gaps narrow between users and designer in the process of transforming and understanding the emotional needs as a verbal image. because In the business practice of design, most of tools and techniques for assessment and analysis of emotional needs are those used usually in the marketing fields. So the information generated and transformed from users to designers have a form of physical words. When the designer's understanding of the emotional needs is considered as a product mediated communication process, the morphologic and cognitive information gaps become obvious. This difference could be a false basis in designing with emotional user needs. So the alternative needs assessment sub-tools of visual and auditory information form was embodied mainly for designer's cognitive gaps and inter-cultural emotional needs assessment. As the method of embodiment, Firstly, adjectives related to emotion were classified in their cognitive dimension. Secondly, visual and auditory data were extracted, and then the relativity verified. Finally, the practicality and effectiveness were tested through the database generation. In view of the results so far achieved, 1. We could find being of the big information cognitive gaps in the verbal assessment of emotional needs between designers and users. 2. With the visual and auditory assessment tool, we could make the big cognitive gaps narrower than we expected. 3. Also, we could find the chance that the fidelity, recognition, and friendliness of design for emotional user needs would become better.
The present research aims to identify the relationship between trust and distrust in an online business environment. To clarify the concepts, cognitive-affective personality system theory was introduced, through which five types of psychological units were proposed. In developing the research model based on the theory, technical effectiveness of the system and content truthfulness of the website were selected as two key stimuli for the coding process of online users. Trust and distrust were selected as mediating factors that generate consequent behaviors. Finally, purchase intention served as a final dependent variable. Assuming that trust and distrust emerge in psychologically different stages, this study hypothesized the mutual causal relationship between trust and distrust, indicating that the relationship will be determined by their contextual emphasis on each dimension. To validate, a survey was conducted with 307 online shopping mall users. Results show that stimuli were more significantly associated with trust. Trust is therefore a more cognitive construct than distrust, and the path from trust to distrust is stronger than that from distrust to trust. This finding implies that the cognitive aspect of trust is stronger than that of distrust. Distrust is rather more affectively emerging than trust.
Constructed-response items are useful to estimate a higher-order thinking abilities such as sense of place, graphicacy, and geographical imaginations which are aimed by geography education. This study aims to identify the conception of the constructed-response items, to classify those feasible items in geography education, and to propose some comments and suggestions for development and application in Korea. The author tries to classify the constructed-response items by analyzing the NAEP items in the formal aspect and the aspect of cognitive dimension respectively. In the formal aspect, they are classified as 'question-standalone' type and 'material-presenting' type. In the aspect of cognitive dimension, they are classified into three types as 'knowledge-requirement', 'understanding-requirement', and 'applying-requirement'. Some comments and suggestions are as follows. First, it is necessary to develope the constructed-response items that coherent to both content and cognitive dimensions. Second, it is required for students who take an examination to use a great variety of graphics, photos, thematic maps related to geography. Third, we need to inquire the rubric, grade, process to scoring because they are vital to success of the constructed-response items.
Teacher guidebooks are practical and commonly used resources for teachers to deliver the goals and contents of science curriculum in classroom teaching. Thus, the alignment of teacher guidebooks and science curriculum could be critical to undertake the effectiveness of curriculum implication in science classrooms. This study is to investigate how the learning objectives of science curriculum are implicated in teacher guidebooks by analyzing the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive process in learning objectives in both documents. Grade 3~4 learning objectives (82 objectives in the curriculum, 459 in the teacher guidebook, 541 in total) in 2009 Revised science curriculum and teacher guidebooks were coded and analyzed based on the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. The analysis focused on how the knowledge dimensions and cognitive processes of the curriculum were emphasized and restructured in the teacher guidebooks to examine the coalition between the two important documents. The study found: 1) the learning objectives in Grade 3~4 in both documents were skewed to certain knowledge dimension (conceptual) and cognitive process (understand); 2) there was a high coalition between unit objectives and lesson objectives in the teacher guidebooks, however, relatively low coalition between the curriculum and the teacher guidebooks; and 3) learning objectives in the curriculum were delivered in teacher guidebooks in various patterns (similar, detailed, additional, in portion, and the same), and 'detailed' and 'additional' were frequently shown. There also appeared new objectives in the teacher guidebooks, which were not present in the curriculum. The findings in this study could provide some suggestions to the current project of developing 2015 Science Curriculum in regard to understanding the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive process of learning objectives and their alignments with textbooks and teacher guidebooks.

One of the problem of science education in terms of its status as a unique discipline is the tendency of qualitative, rather than quantitative, arguments and judgements on research activities. In this study, a model called "Diamond Model" and an index formula for the balance of researches are suggested for achieving more pictoricaI and quantitative understandings on the distribution of researches in science education. Diamond Model is consisted of two dimensions corresponding to two main long-debated issues in science education, i.e. the dimension of cognitive-affective and the dimension of concept-process. In Diamond Model the geometrical symmetry represents the the balance of researches. An index formula for the balance was developed in order to ensure that the value of the index is between 0 to 1 and the numerical values of the index corresponds to the geometrical symmetry of the diamond. Then, in order to check their utility, the model and the index formula were applied to analyze the research papers appeared in JKARSE for the last 10 years.
The purpose of this research is to propose a model for education for sustainable development (ESD) within the geography curriculum. The study consists of two parts. The first part discusses the normal view of a model to assess the curriculum, namely the content and the cognitive dimensions. The ESD component necessitates an action program with skills and citizenship considered as the Objective Dimension. The second part of the paper examines the means for adding the Objective Dimension which follows a taking action approach through knowledge, skills, and citizenship that are consistent with ESD goals. The research procedure applied the methodology of the Delphi process. The theoretical model was initially developed by the researchers based on current practices in geography assessment in South Korea and the U.S. The model was tested using the Delphi technique by high school geography teachers and geography education faculty members in both countries who were recognized experts in their field. The research complements the curriculum and instructional activities that have been under way with the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (UNDESD). The model may be used to deliberate proposals for building an ESD component into existing assessment practices.
The main objective of this study is to explore the relationship between psychological factors (i.e. math anxiety, attention, attitude, Working Memory Capacity (WMC), and Field dependency) and students' mathematics problem solving based on Revised Bloom Taxonomy. A sample of 169 K11 school girls were tested on (1) The Witkin's cognitive style (Group Embedded Figure Test). (2) Digit Span Backwards Test. (3) Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale (MARS). (4) Modified Fennema-Sherman Attitude Scales. (5) Mathematics Attention Test (MAT), and (6) Mathematics questions based on Revised Bloom Taxonomy (RBT). Results obtained indicate that the effect of these items on students mathematical problem solving is different in each cognitive process and level of knowledge dimension.
