Various test data compression techniques have been developed to reduce the test costs of system-on-a-chips. In this paper, a scan chain reordering algorithm for code-based test data compression techniques is proposed. Scan cells within an acceptable relocation distance are ranked to reduce the number of conflicts in all test patterns and rearranged by a positioning algorithm to minimize the routing overhead. The proposed method is demonstrated on ISCAS '89 benchmark circuits with their physical layout by using a 180 nm CMOS process library. Significant improvements are observed in compression ratio and test power consumption with minor routing overhead.

This paper proposes a new test data compression/decompression method for SoC(Systems-on-a-Chip). The method is based on analyzing the factors that influence test parameters: compression ratio and hardware overhead. To improve compression ratio, the proposed method is based on Modified Statistical Coding (MSC) and Input Reduction (IR) scheme, as well as a novel mapping and reordering algorithm proposed in a preprocessing step. Unlike previous approaches using the CSR architecture, the proposed method is to compress original test data and decompress the compressed test data without the CSR architecture. Therefore, the proposed method leads to better compression ratio with lower hardware overhead than previous works. An experimental comparison on ISCAS '89 benchmark circuits validates the proposed method.
We propose efficient scan testing method capable of reducing the test data and power dissipation for digital logic circuits. The proposed testing method is based on a hybrid run-length encoding which reduces test data storage on the tester. We also introduce modified Bus-invert coding method and scan cell design in scan cell reordering, thus providing increased power saving in scan in operation. Experimental results for ISCAS'89 benchmark circuits show that average power of 96.7% and peak power of 84% are reduced on the average without fault coverage degrading. We have obtained a high reduction of 78.2% on the test data compared the existing compression methods.

As the design complexity increases, it is a major problem that the size of test pattern is large and power consumption is high in scan, especially system-on-a-chip(SoC), with the automatic test equipment(ATE). Because static compaction of test patterns heads to higher power for testing, it is very hard to reduce the test pattern volume for low power testing. This paper proposes an efficient compression/decompression algorithm based on run-length coding for reducing the amount of test data for low power testing that must be stored on a tester and be transferred to SoC. The experimental results show that the new algorithm is very efficient by reducing the memory space for test patterns and the hardware overhead for the decoder.

Test data volume and power consumption for scan vectors are two major problems in system-on-a-chip testing. Therefore, this paper proposes a new test data compression/decompression method for low power testing. The method is based on analyzing the factors that influence test parameters: compression ratio, power reduction and hardware overhead. To improve the compression ratio and the power reduction ratio, the proposed method is based on Modified Statistical Coding (MSC), Input Reduction (IR) scheme and the algorithms of reordering scan flip-flops and reordering test pattern sequence in a preprocessing step. Unlike previous approaches using the CSR architecture, the proposed method is to compress original test data, not $T_{diff}$, and decompress the compressed test data without the CSR architecture. Therefore, the proposed method leads to better compression ratio with lower hardware overhead and lower power consumption than previous works. An experimental comparison on ISCAS '89 benchmark circuits validates the proposed method.

This paper introduces a practical determination method for soil parameters adopted in the new performance based design code for port and harbour facilities in Japan. In the new port-design code, the depth profile of the derived values is modeled as the profile of the estimated values so as to be either the mean value or the regression line, then the correction factors are multiplied to the estimated value according to the coefficient of variation (if COV > 0.1) and the number of the data entries (if n < 10). The new port-design code is applied to the unconfined compression test results for the Hiroshima Port clay in order to evaluate the undrained shear strengths. From the discussion, it is emphasized that not only the statistic treatment but also the engineering judgment are required in the procedure of the soil parameter determination for the reliability design.
This study addresses the load capacity prediction of circular concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns under axial compression using current design codes. Design methods given in the Chinese code CECS 28:2012 (2012), American code AISC 360-10 (2010) and EC4 (2004) are presented and described briefly. A wide range of experimental data of 353 CFST columns is used to evaluate the applicability of CECS 28:2012 in calculating the strength of circular CFST columns. AISC 360-10 and EC4 (2004) are also compared with the test results. The comparisons indicate that all three codes give conservative predictions for both short and long CFST columns. The effects of concrete strength, steel strength and diameter-to-thickness ratio on the accuracy of prediction according to CECS 28:2012 are discussed, which indicate a possibility of extending the limitations on the material strengths and diameter-to-thickness ratio to higher values. A revised equation for slenderness reduction factor in CECS 28:2012 is given.

The International Organization for Standardization(ISO) has undertaken an effort to develop a standard for video and associated audio on digital storage media. This effort is known by the name of the expert group that started if : MPEG-Moving Picture Experts Group Is currently part of the ISO-I EC/J TC1/SC2/WG11. The promise of MPEG-2 is that a video signal and its associated audio can be compressed to a bit rate of about 10 Mbits/s with an acceptable quality. In this paper, the implementation of a video compression simulator based on MPEG-2 Video Test Model 2(TM2) is described and analyzed according to the simulation results. The implemented simulator is also applied to code HDTV sequences at the several bit rates. Some computer simulation results using the MPEG and the HDTV test sequences are given. In addition, some techniques which can improve the coding efficiency of the implemented video compression simulator are also suggested.

The rapid progress of the software has enabled individuals to copy and remake digital contents, which was only done by professionals. However, this rapid growth of software has brought many other defects. As a solution to the problems, contents producer needs to have certification and inspection of its contents text and hold the proprietary rights. In this paper, the new video watermarking scheme is proposed which is appropriate for the requirements mentioned for digital video contents and it is applied to MPEG-2 video encoder and decoder. In order to insert watermark sequence for digital video data, watermarking used blocks reordering algorithm and SCL(secret code list). It is satisfied two properties of cryptography that confidentiality and integrity. We test the proposed algorithm to see its performance in terms of watermark capacity, compression robustness and visual quality impact. According to the experiment of proposed watermarking algorithm, we obtained satisfactory results that watermark can still be extracted after MPEG-2 re-encoding at lower bit rates. It is important property for data hiding and user authentication in video data.

The role of a track subgrade is to provide bearing capacity and distribute load transferred to lower foundation soils. Track subgrade soils are usually compacted by heavy mechanical machines in the field, such that sometimes they are attributed to progressive residual settlement during the service after construction completion of the railway track. The progressive residual settlement generated in the upper part of a track subgrade is mostly non-recoverable plastic deformation, which causes unstable conditions such as track irregularity. Nonetheless, up to now no design code for allowable residual settlement of subgrade in a railway trackbed has been proposed based on mechanical testing, such as repetitive triaxial testing. At this time, to check the DOC or stiffness of the soil, field test criteria for compacted track subgrade are composed of data from RPBT and field compaction testing. However, the field test criteria do not provide critical design values obtained from mechanical test results that can offer correct information about allowable permanent deformation. In this study, a test procedure is proposed for permanent deformation of compacted subgrade soil that is used usually in railway trackbed in the laboratory using repetitive triaxial testing. To develop the test procedure, an FEA was performed to obtain the shear stress ratio (${\tau}/{\tau}_f$) and the confining stress (${\sigma}_3$) on the top of the subgrade. Comprehensive repetitive triaxial tests were performed using the proposed test procedure on several field subgrade soils obtained in construction sites of railway trackbeds. A permanent deformation model was proposed using the test results for the railway track.
