  • Formation flying is an important technology that enables high cost-effective organization of outer space aircrafts. The ad-hoc wireless network based on direct-sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) techniques is seen as an effective means of establishing wireless communication links between aircrafts. In this paper, based on the theory of matched filter and error bits correction, a hybrid detection algorithm is proposed for realizing multiuser detection (MUD) when the DS-UWB technique is used in the ad-hoc wireless network. The matched filter is used to generate a candidate code set which may contain several error bits. The error bits are then recognized and corrected by an novel error-bit corrector, which consists of two steps: code mapping and clustering. In the former step, based on the modified optimum MUD decision function, a novel mapping function is presented that maps the output candidate codes into a feature space for differentiating the right and wrong codes. In the latter step, the codes are clustered into the right and wrong sets by using the K-means clustering approach. Additionally, in order to prevent some right codes being wrongly classified, a sign judgment method is proposed that reduces the bit error rate (BER) of the system. Compared with the traditional detection approaches, e.g., matched filter, minimum mean square error (MMSE) and decorrelation receiver (DEC), the proposed algorithm can considerably improve the BER performance of the system because of its high probability of recognizing wrong codes. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can almost achieve the BER performance of the optimum MUD (OMD). Furthermore, compared with OMD, the proposed algorithm has lower computational complexity, and its BER performance is less sensitive to the number of users.

  • In order to support various parallel computing systems, it is necessary to extend LLVM IR to more efficiently support vector / matrix and to design LLVM IR to machine code as a new algorithm. As shown in the IR example, RISC instruction generation is naturally generated because the RISC instruction is basically composed of the RISC instruction, and the vector instruction is also not supported. There is a need for new IR structures, command generation algorithms and related extensions to support vector / matrix more robustly. To do this, it is important to map each instruction in the LLVM IR to the appropriate instruction in the target architecture (vector / matrix) (instruction selection algorithm). It is necessary to understand the meaning of LLVM IR command, to compare the meaning of each instruction of the target architecture with syntax, and to select the instruction that matches the pattern to make mapping efficient.

  • The turbo code, an error correction code, needs a long decoding time since the same decoding process must be repeated several times in order to obtain a good BER performance. Thus, parallel processing may be used to reduce the decoding time, in which case there may be a memory contention that requires additional buffers. The QPP interleaving has been proposed to avoid such case, but there is still a possibility of memory contention when a decoder is constructed using the so-called double flow technique. In this paper, we propose an even-odd cross mapping technique to avoid memory conflicts even in decoding using the double-flow technique. This method uses the address generation characteristic of the QPP interleaving and can be used to implement the interleaving circuit between the decoding blocks and the LLR memory blocks. When the decoder implemented by applying the double flow and the proposed methods is compared with the decoder by the conventional MDF techniques, the decoding time is reduced by up to 32% with the total area increase by 8%.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for constructing RDF knowledge graphs from objects in OOP. RML mapping has been the de-facto way of generating RDF graphs from heterogeneous data. However, the input to an RML mapping is limited to the data in files or databases. Our new RML implementation, designed to overcome the limit, has two differences compared to existing RML implementations. First, our implementation provides a new way to specify mapping rules in the form of special comments known as annotations in the source code. It is because existing works do not provide a means to refer to specific program elements to which the mapping rules will be applied. Second, our work provides mapping engine as a library, whereas the engines in existing studies runs in an independent process. Therefore, our mapping engine can be easily embedded in other applications to access in-memory objects to be mapped. In this system paper, we describe the proposed system in detail and present the results of RML test cases execution to confirm the usefulness of the system.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented a code conversion method between ISO/IEC 10646 and the multi-byte code set. The Universal Multiple-Octet Coded Character Set(UCS) provides codes for more than 65,000 characters, huge increase over ASCII's code capacity of 128 characters. It is applicable to the representation, transmission, interchange, processing, storage, input and presentation of the written form of the language throughout the world. Therefore, it is so important to guide on code conversion methods to their customers during customer systems are migrated to the environment which the UCS code system is used and/or the current code systems, i.e., ASCII PC code and EBCDIC host code, are used with the UCS together. Code conversion utility including the mapping table between the UCS and IBM new host code is shown for the purpose of the explanation of code conversion algorithm and its implementation in the system. The programs are successfully executed in the real system environments and so can be delivered to the customer during its migration stage from the UCS to the current IBM code system and vice versa.

  • In this paper, an adaptive bit-reliability mapping is proposed for the bit-level Chase combining in LDPC-coded high-order modulation systems. Contrary to the previously known bit-reliability mapping that assigns the information (or parity) bits to more (or less) reliable bit positions, the proposed mapping adaptively assigns codeword bits to the bit positions of various reliabilities by considering the characteristics of code and protection levels of bits in high-order modulation symbol. Compared with the symbol-level Chase combining and the constellation rearrangement bit mapping, the proposed mapping gives $0.7{\sim}1.3$ dB and $0.1{\sim}1.0$ dB performance gain at $FER=10^{-3}$ with no additional complexity, respectively. Adaptive bit-reliability mappings are derived for various environments and the validity of them is confirmed through simulation.
