  • In this study, BIEM(Boundary Integral Equation Method) using Green's function is applied in order to analyze 3D electric field precisely. The algorithm is developed with equivalent electric surface charge as a variable, which promises less unknown variables and higher accuracy of electric field analysis. The validity of the developed program is varified by applying it to a coaxial cylinder mode and 3-phase GIS model.

  • Recently, extending the local broadcasting and increasing lots of informations. The low-loss communication cable is required in proportion as frequency .The reason of transportation loss causes to using the high frequencies like hundreds of MHz or decades of GHz. For the low transportation loss. It is required the developing-technology of foaming and the high foamed insulator with the dielectric ratio of the nearest to 1. Therefor, there is the purpose of developing the insulating materials for the low dielectric ratio. Also it is important to measure the attenuation, which is one of the important parameters.sa the evaluation of transportation characteristic with frequency in the communication cable. In this paper, the result showed that the dielectric ratio(1.4) of the nearest to 1 and low attenuation with high frequency were very related to the transportation and reflection characteristics such as propagation velocity (82.27%). Delay time and voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR).

  • To provide more noiseless upstream service on the HFC(Hybrid-Fiber Coaxial) Access Network, we should conduct upstream band analysis and have related operation skill. In this paper, we studied the upstream signal measurement to get goof transmission quality, effective operation and maintenance, also showed the method of noise analysis and that of upstream band frequency selection. Finally we tested the signal in the field and showed the analyzed result.

  • We designed and constructed a non-destructive evaluation system using an HTS DC SQUID electronic gradiometer. Our DC SQUID electronic gradiometer is composed of two DC SQUID magnetometers. The system included a non-magnetic stainless steel cryostat and a set of coaxial exciting coils, which were used to induce an eddy current in the test material. We also have calculated the eddy current density produced by an exciting coil in any direction of the testing object. We could compute the eddy current density distribution in 3D. The SQUIDs were computer controlled and the output data from the electronic gradiometer was obtained by using a Labview software.

  • OTS(Operator Training System) requires computation for the systematic training in real-time. So we have developed a distributed operator training system that is composed of workstation based server and PC based user modules. Sever and OM(OTS Manager) modules are located in the workstation server and user modules are located in PCs. User modules have DCS-like user interfaces and transfer data with OM over the coaxial ethernet. This paper delineates a total system architecture and definition of data transferring between OM and User module. Having applied this system to a batch process, we could analyze operator's tasks.

  • This paper presents a CATV SMS (Status Monitoring System) using HDLC (High Level Data Link Contorl) protocol and the system implementation. The system specifications were derived from the analysis of technical status and requirement of the domestic CATV industry. For the interoperability with a global network management system in the future, HDLC protocol was adopted in the system. The system performance was improved by using the communication controller chip and the large data buffer. For reducting the communication problems induced by accumulated noise in up-stream data channels, the system was designed that the different communication channel can be assigned to each proper mass of terminal. The operating software was designed with menu driven user interface and have various functions for the convenience of users. The test result of the implemented system at the experimental network showed good performance and suitability for a coaxial CATV Status Monitoring System.

  • Generation of pure and controllable excitation waves to excite the natural fast-growing instability waves has always been a difficult task. For this purpose, a device that is capable of supplying co- and counter-swirl was designed, fabricated, and applied. To incorporate a novel, robust mechanical excitation device that is capable of producing disturbances, mechanically and passively, a novel device was designed and built.

  • Experimental and simulation results are presented on the Aperture-Coupled microstrip patch antennal with U-shaped slot. Experiment and simulation results include impedance bandwidth, copolar and crosspolar-pattern characteristics and gain measurements. Simulation results show the advantages of U-slotted patch antenna comparing with the normal patch antenna. More than 35% impedance bandwidth is obtained with reasonably restricted cross-polar radiation pattern. The U-slotted radiation element fed by aperture-coupling method can be more easily extended to array structure, compared with that fed by coaxial cable.

  • Magnetic resonant coupling is more efficient than inductive coupling for transferring power wirelessly over a distance. However, a conventional resonant wireless power transfer (WPT) system requires a transmitter and receiver pair in exactly coaxial positions. We propose a resonator that can serve as an omnidirectional WPT system. A magnetic field will be generated by the current flowed through the transmitter. This magnetic field radiates omnidirectionally in the x-y plane because of the crisscross structure characteristic of the transmitter. The proposed resonator is demonstrated by using a single port. To check the received S21 and transfer efficiency, we moved the receiver around the transmitter at different distances (50-350 mm). As a result, the transmission efficiency is found to be 48%-54% at 200 mm.

  • In this paper, we present the design and measurement of a side-fed circularly-polarized patch antenna with a dielectric loading. The antenna consists of a comer-truncated rectangular patch, an L-shaped ground plane, a dielectric loading material, and a coaxial probe. An antenna operating at the UHF band (910 MHz) for the RFID reader applications is optimized using a commercial software. The size of the patch is reduced by a factor of 1.73 by loading the patch with mono-cast(MC) nylon. Measurements of the fabricated antenna show performance characteristics comparable to those of much larger commercial RFID reader antennas.
