Investigation of Physical Properties of N-doped DLC Film and Its Application to Mo-tip FEA Devices (질소가 도핑된 DLC 막의 물성 조사 및 Mo-tip FEA 소자에의 응용)

  • N-doped and low-hydrogenated DLC thin films were coated on the Mo-tip FEAs in order to improve the field emission performance and their electrical properties were evaluated. The fabricated devices showed improved field emission performance in terms of turn-on voltage, emission current and current fluctuation. This result might be caused both by the shift of Fermi level toward conduction band by N-doping and by the inherent stability of DLC material. Furthermore, the transconductance of the DLC-coated Mo-tip FEA and electrical conductivity and optical band-gap of the deposited DLC films were investigated.

A Study on Low Temperature Phosphating for Cold Forming (냉간 가공용 인산염 피막처리의 저온화에 관한 연구)

  • Zinc phosphating for cold forming of steel was studied with emphasis on decreasing phosphating temperature. To lower phosphating temperature, some techniques, such as adding Cu ion into bath, using activator in the form of pre-dip, and aeration in bath, instead of using conventional accelerator, namely oxidizing agent, have been tried. It was revealed that phosphating, leading to coatings of Improved uniformity and fine crystal size, can be carried out using above techniques at lower temperature ($55^{\circ}C$) compared to conventional phosphating temperature ($80 ~ 90^{\circ}C$ ). Under present condition, it was seen that optimum concentrations of Cu ion in phosphating bath and activator in pre-dip are 0.015% (w/w) and 2.0 g/1, respectively. The coating weight was within the range of 15 ~ 20 g/$\m^2$. When lubricant was applied into phosphating coatings, the amount of lubricating component (total soap) was found to be 6 ~ 10 g/$\m^2$ and the lubricated panel revealed excellent lubricating properties.

  • Microvel double velour graft impregnated with a biodegradable algin was studied as a new vascular graft. It is blood tight but still retains high porosity. Thls graft does not need to be preslotted with blood before implantation and has good tissue ingrowth and biological healing properties. The algin impregnated vascular graft was investigated by "in vitro" tests in this study. It was characterl zed by ESCA analysis, SEM observation, and measurements of water permeability, algin coating weight, mechanical properties and whole blood clotting time. The water permeability of the graft was reduced more than 99% and the whole blood clotting time was fast more than three times by the algin impregnation treatment.   • The multi function sprayed coating is used for direct-heating, wear resistance and high bonding strength. The merits of surface direct-heating coatings are short warming time, low power consumption and better wear resistance that can be used in many organization parts. In this study, the surface direct-heating and wear resistance can be improved by spraying the proper materials on the surface $Al_2$O$_3$40%TiO$_2$ powder and Ni-20%Cr powder that had the properties of conduction and high wear resistivity are used in order to improve wear resistance, electrical properties and bonding strength.

  • In this paper, PZT(20/80) thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing method. And the PZT(80/20) coating solution was synthesized by the sol-gel method. PZT(20/80) thick films were screen-printed on the alumina substrates. PZT(80/20) thin film was spin-coated on the PZT(20/80) thick films to obtain densification. And the structural and electrical properties of PZT thick films were investigated with variation of sintering temperature. The PZT specimen sintered at $650^{\circ}C$ showed good relative dielectric constant of 219 and dielectric loss of 2.45%. Also the remanent polarization and the coercive field were $16.48{\mu}C/cm^2$ and 35.48kV/cm, respectively.

  • Ferroelectric PZT (70/30) thick films were fabricated by the screen printing method. And the PZT (30/70) precusor solution were infiltrated by the spin-coating method on the PZT thick films to obtain a densification. All PZT thick films were sintered at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 10 min. Structural properties, such as crystalline structure, microstructures and compositional ratio, of PZT thick films were investigated with the variation of the number of sol coatings using XRD, SEM and EDS, respectively. All PZT thick films exhibited a perovskite polycrystalline structure without a pyrochloer phase. The thickness of PZT thick films, 4-times screen-printed, was approximately $60{\mu}m$. And the densification of the PZT thick films increased with increasing the number of sol coatings.

  • A study is made of mechanical properties of unglazed matrix as a funtion of sintering temperature and crack patterns in layer structur pottery consisting of glaze and substrate and in matrix which is sintered at 120$0^{\circ}C$ and 130$0^{\circ}C$ respectively. The mechanical properties of matrix are increased due to density and vitrification to 130$0^{\circ}C$ The interface of glazed bilayer reveals the reactive intermediate layer. Herzian indentation testing is used to investigate the evolution of damage modes as a function of load. In the materials sintered at 120$0^{\circ}C$ quasi-plastic deformation is developed at the matrix and the cone-like cracks initiate at the glazing top surface and additionally upward-extending transverse cracks initiate at the internal in-just initiate at the glazing top surface which pass through the interface with increasing of indentation load. Finally the dominant damage mode shifts from substrate quasi-plasticity to coating fracture with increasing sintering temperature.

  • Surface of crystalline silica was sequentially reacted with silane(A 187), liquid $rubber(CTBN{\times}8)$, and vinyl monomer(GMA) in existence of TEA(triethylamine) or BPO(benzoyl peroxide). It was mixed with epoxy resin at a ratio $0{\times}60%$ (vol. % ) of total component. For mixtures, viscous properties were investigated experimentally. 1) Coating ratio depended on pH of mixture and quantity of catalyst. 2) Treated silica represented lower viscosity than untreated. 3) Thixotropic index represented best at silica_content $15{\sim}23%$ and showed more large deviation over $120^{\circ}C$. 4) Relative viscosity followed kernel's at $0{\times}10%$ of silica content and get out of Mooney's at more than 15%.

Deposition of Cermet Solar Selective Coatings for High Temperature Applications (고온용 서밋 태양선택흡수막의 증착)

  • Cr-CrO cermet solar selective coatings with a double cermets layer film structure were prepared using a special direct current (dc) magnetron sputtering technology. The typical films structures from surface to bottom substrate were measured to be an $Al_2O_3$ anti-reflection layer on a double Cr-CrO cermet layer on an Al metal infrared reflection layer. Optical properties of optimized Cr-CrO cermet solar selective coating were absorptance (${\alpha}$) = 0.95 and emittance (${\varepsilon}$) = 0.10 ($100^{\circ}C$). Atomic force microscopy (AFM) image showed that Cr-CrO cermet film was very smooth and their grain size was also very small The results of thermal stability test showed that the Cr-CrO cermet solar selective coatings were stable for use at temperature of $400^{\circ}C$.

  • In this study, plasma spraying has been used to produce $TiO_2$ polycrystalline coatings from $TiO_2$ powders. The physical and chemical properties of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings depend greatly on plasma spraying conditions. The electrical resistivity, oxygen concentration, photocurrent and crystal structure of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coating has been studied. The results are as follows: 1. The oxygen loss and electrical conductivity of $TiO_2$ plasma sprayed coatings increased by low pressure and high amount of auxiliary gas, hydrogen in plasma spraying. 2. Oxygen loss increase electrical conductivity, and decrease photocurrent of $TiO_2$ plasma sprayed coatings. 3. Photocurrent of $TiO_2$ plasma sprayed coatings manufactured in atmospheric pressure is higher than that of low pressure.
