  • BIM having started from architecture is being used in civil structure, but there are very few examples despite its effectiveness. In this paper, based on BIM technology, it is presented the method and result of developing web-based 5D system connecting cost, schedule and 3D model from the cable-stayed bridge. Through the system, the user can understand easily schedule on specific time and during some period and extract cost directly. This system also can manage various data types such as drawings, 3D models, documents and photos, for enhanced communication between stakeholders.

Measuring the Impact of Change Orders on Project Performances by Building Type

  • The project performances can be measured in terms of meeting the project schedule, budget, and conformance to functional and technical specifications. Numerous studies have been conducted to examine the causes and effects of change orders for both vertical and horizontal construction, respectively. However, these studies mainly focus on a single project type, so this paper examines the impact of change order for cost growth and schedule overruns using four different building types to close the gap in the change order research area. A total of 211 building projects are collected from four building types: healthcare, residential, office, and education. Statistical analyses using ANOVA tests and linear regression models are used to examine the created metric $CO/day on the cost and schedule impacts. The results found that mean $CO/day values were not statistically different among building types, and that the sum of change orders is a statistically significant predictor of $CO/day. The results will help project stakeholders mitigate the negative change orders effects can be a challenge for project managers and researchers alike.

치과위생사의 직무만족이 이직의도와 근속의사에 미치는 영향 (Effect of job satisfaction on turnover intention and intention to stay in dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dental hygienists' job satisfaction on turnover intention and intention to stay. Methods: A survey was conducted targeting 273 dental hygienists in dental clinics. The study data were u analyzed using PASW Statistics 20.0 Results: The level of job satisfaction of dental hygienists was 3.30±0.50, and the highest ranked item in the survey was 'I am satisfied with my relationships with patients' 3.72±0.73. Job satisfaction according to general characteristics showed significant differences in age, marriage, education, career, current work experience, position, and schedule for future turnover. The turnover intention according to general characteristics showed significant difference in age and schedule for future turnover. The intention to stay according to general characteristics showed significant differences in age, marriage, education, career, current work experience, number of dentists, number of dental hygienists, and schedule for future turnover. The factors affecting turnover intention were schedule for future turnover, income, co-worker relation and professional time, while those affecting intention to stay were overall professional satisfaction, co-worker relation, schedule for future turnover, professional time, income, number of dental hygienists, patient relations and current work experience. Conclusions: Job satisfaction factors that had a common effect on turnover intention and intention to stay were schedule for future turnover, income, co-worker relation and professional time. To reduce turnover and encourage longevity, adequate pay and positive interpersonal relationships are necessary.

건설공사의 작업불능일 기준설정에 의한 보정계수 계산 및 적용을 통한 최적공기 산정 (Optimal Period by Calculating and Appling Correction Factor based on Setting of Non-Working Days of Construction Projects)

  • 건설공사에서 공정관리는 공사 기간을 결정하는 중요한 단계이나, 설계단계에서 작업불가능 일수 예측 및 산정이 제대로 이루어지지 않아 예정공기와 실행공기의 차이가 발생하고 있다. 이러한 차이를 최소화하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 공정계획 수립 시 실제에 가장 근접하는 방법으로 추석 및 구정연휴를 휴무일에 반영한 작업불가능 일수 산정방법과, 주요공종별 특성분석을 통한 작업가능일수 산정방법을 제시하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 주요단위공종에 대한 공기산정시 작업불가능 일수가 포함된 최적의 단위공기 산정방법을 제안하였다. 같은 현장 동일공사에 대한 기존 방법과 개선된 방법의 보정계수를 적용하여 소요작업 일수를 산출한바 개선된 방법이 실작업일수 기준으로는 22일(9.1%) 단축됨을 확인하였으며, 공종별 작업소요일수 기준(안)을 수원지역 개착식 공동구 공사에 대하여 적용 전과 후의 차이를 비교하였다. 기준(안) 적용 전 공사일수는 총 304일 이었으나, 기준(안) 적용 후 공사일 수는 총 421일로 설계단계에서 공정계획의 중요성을 예로 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과는 그동안 현장에서 관행적으로 시행되어 오던 실 작업일수 계산과 공정표상 작업일수의 불일치로 인한 공정지연을 방지하고 보다 실제에 근접한 공정계획 수립에 도움이 될 것으로 판단한다.

  • Suppliers in light rail transit project makes a systems engineering management plan(SEMP) as a top level plan which has a SEMS and SEDS as an control and monitoring means. In this paper, we analyze the international standards and some related documents, and present the directions to make the SEMS and SEDS which have WBS, accomplishments, schedule, events, person in charge. And then customize the project management tool and make SEMS and SEDS of LRT project as an example. The research results can be applied in LRT project after tailoring based on the project.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop the pattern recognition algorithm based on smart camera for inspection automation, and including external surface state of molding parts or optical parts. By performance verification, this development can be applied to establish for existing reflex data because inputting surface badness degree of scratch's standard specification condition directly. And it is pdssible to distinguish from schedule error of badness product and normalcy product within schedule extent after calculating the error comparing actuality measurement reflex data and standard reflex data mutually. The proposed technology cab be applied to test for masearing of the smallest 10 pixel unit. It is illustrated the relibility pf proposed technology by an experiment.

  • In competitive electricity markets, each GenCo establishes generator maintenance schedule and submits to ISO those. Then, ISO reviews and arranges maintenance schedule of each GenCo to meet the standard for reliability. This paper presents the new optimization model which can apply to competitive electricity markets. The object of this model is to minimize schedules variation of each GenCo and to satisfy system reliability.

Effect of Retaining Preconsruction Primer (PCP) on the Quality of High Performance Protective Coatings Systems

  • In construction of new ships and large steel bridges in Korea, pre-construction primers (PCP), also known as shop primer, are routinely used and retained as an integral part of the protective coating system. Retention of PCP's can significantly reduce building schedule and cost. Retaining PCP through the so-called "sweep blasting" procedure eliminates or minimizes the necessity of a second blast operation, thus shortening overall schedule as well as reducing labor cost and hazardous waste disposal cost. This study evaluates the feasibility of retaining PCP as the part of primer for high performance protective coating systems applied to ships' hull, bottom and ballast tanks. Upon proving that the retention of the PCP is a viable option, the process of coating application can he improved significantly in terms of cost and working schedule of new ships and large steel bridges. Results indicate that use of the PCP via sweeping blasting in conjunction with standard high performance protective coating systems does not degrade the overall performance of the coating systems. At the same time, it is also highly recommended that the secondary surface preparation should consist of grit blasting of weld burnt and other damaged areas to SSPC SP-IO grade (Sa 2.5 Gr.), Near White Blast Cleaning with proper application and attention to detail.

기존시가지의 공동구 건설을 위한 표준공기 산정에 대한 연구 (A study on the normal project duration development for the construction of multi-utility tunnel in the existing city)

  • 건설공사에서 공정관리는 기본적으로 가장 중요한 단계이며, 효율적인 공정관리를 위해서는 합리적 공정표 작성이 우선시 되어야 한다. 설계단계에서는 기상조건과 현장 특성을 고려한 다양한 조건과 공법의 비교 검토를 통해 최적의 공사 기간을 산정할 수 있으나, 기획단계에서 기본적인 자료(D/B) 분석만으로는 효율적 공법 선정과 적정한 공사 기간 산정이 어렵다. 따라서, 기획단계에서 기존시가지의 공동구 건설시 표준공기 분석을 위하여, 본 논문에서는 공동구 형식을 개착식 및 터널식으로 구분하고, 각 형식의 특성과 기존시가지의 조건을 고려한 공법을 선정 하도록 하였다. 합리적인 공기 계산을 위하여 외부 공사에 영향을 주는 기상조건을 고려하여 년 간 가동율을 산정 하였으며, 개착식은 RC 공법/터널식은 Shield TBM 공법에 대한 단위공정을 분석하였다. 각 단위공정을 종합하여 연장 1,200m, 환기구 200m 간격으로 가정한 공사의 표준공기를 산정한바, 개착식은 893일, 터널식은 616일이 소요되는 것으로 분석 되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 기획단계에서 보다 쉽게 공동구 형식 선정과 표준공기 산정에 도움이 될 것이며, 추후 설계단계에 연계하면 공정 및 공사비 산정이 용이할 것으로 판단된다.
