  • The purpose of the study was to identify the housing plan responding to lifestyles of residents living in Center of Ulsan city. A total of 230 date sets were analyzed after collecting questionnaire from 284 households using convenient sampling method. For date analysis, descriptive statistics. cross analysis, One-Way ANOVA, factor analysis, cluster analysis were performed by SPSS program. The research centered on the possibility of categorizing lifestyles of residents based upon their living awareness. The results showed that there are four major categorizes of residents's lifestyles. According to classification of their lifestyles, This study tried to analyse the characteristics of residents based upon the characteristics of the households, housing satisfaction. The analysis instrument of the lifestyle concept will be useful to develop the new strategies and to plan the new multi-family houses.

  • We consider the Fuzzy clustering which is devised for partitioning a set of objects into a certain number of groups by assigning the membership probabilities to each object. The researches carried out in this field before show that the Fuzzy clustering concept is involved so much that for a certain set of data, the main purpose of the clustering cannot be attained as desired. Thus we Propose a new objective function, named as Fuzzy-Entroppy Function in order to satisfy the main motivation of the clustering which is classifying the data clearly. Also we suggest Mean Field Annealing Algorithm as an optimization algorithm rather than the ISODATA used traditionally in this field since the objective function is changed. We show the Mean Field Annealing Algorithm works pretty well not only for the new objective function but also for the classical Fuzzy objective function by indicating that the local minimum problem resulted from the ISODATA can be improved.

  • The apparel market is extremely competitive and thus apparel manufacturers should try to maximize consumer satisfaction with cost-efficient but consumer-oriented strategies. Personalized strategies considering each consumer's characteristics have to be developed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of consumers' characteristics on personalization strategies of apparel brands. Investigating personalization based on consumers' values and demographic characteristics will allow apparel manufacturers to attract target consumers. A survey method was used for the empirical study. Questionnaires from 420 respondents were analyzed using factor analysis, cluster, t-test, and ANOVA. The results indicated a significant influence of consumer values on customer service-related aspects of personalization. Female consumers demanded product- and information-oriented factors of personalization. Age, residential area, and clothing expense also had significant influence on the need for personalization of apparel shopping.

  • Corrosion of prestressed concrete structures is one of the main challenges that engineers face today. In response to this national need, this paper presents the results of a long-term project that aims at developing a structural health monitoring (SHM) technology for the nondestructive evaluation of prestressed structures. In this paper, the use of permanently installed low profile piezoelectric transducers (PZT) is proposed in order to record the acoustic emissions (AE) along the length of the strand. The results of an accelerated corrosion test are presented and k-means clustering is applied via principal component analysis (PCA) of AE features to provide an accurate diagnosis of the strand health. The proposed approach shows good correlation between acoustic emissions features and strand failure. Moreover, a clustering technique for the identification of false alarms is proposed.

  • Energy constraints of wireless sensor networks are an important challenge. Data Transmission requires energy. Distance between origin and destination has an important role in energy consumption. In addition, the location of base station has a large impact on energy consumption and a specific method not proposed for it. In addition, a obtain model for location of base station proposed. Also a model for distributed clustering is presented by cluster heads. Eventually, a combination of discussed ideas is proposed to improve the energy consumption. The proposed ideas have been implemented over the LEACH-C protocol. Evaluation results show that the proposed methods have a better performance in energy consumption and lifetime of the network in comparison with similar methods.

  • The problem solving activities developed for this formal assessment program are based on familiar, real life problems. Responses of third and fourth grade subjects to problem solving items were assessed by problem solving ability, reasoning, and imagination/creativity. Reliability of problem solving activities was supported by the results of interrater reliability and Cronbach's alpha. Correlations between problem solving activities and the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test(NNAT: 1985) showed that cluster scores on the NNAT were significantly related to each score on the problem solving activities. Problem solving by gender showed that girls were more likely to express ideas than boys. There were also differences related to grade level on some items.

  • The bulk motion of star clusters can be determined after careful membership analysis using parametric or non-parametric approaches. This study aims to implement non-parametric membership analysis based on Binned Kernel Density Estimators which takes into account measurements errors (simply called BKDE-e) to determine the average proper motion of each cluster. This method is applied to 178 selected star clusters with angular diameters less than 20 arcminutes. Proper motion data from UCAC4 are used for membership determination. Non-parametric analysis using BKDE-e successfully determined the average proper motion of 129 clusters, with good accuracy. Compared to COCD and NCOVOCC, there are 79 clusters with less than $3{\sigma}$ difference. Moreover, we are able to analyse the distribution of the member stars in vector point diagrams which is not always a normal distribution.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand mother's experience of caring child with a severe atopic dermatitis. Twelve participants were selected and collected on their caring difficulties using in-depth interview. Data were analyzed according to the method of Colaizzi. Significant statements were extracted from the data. From the significant statement, 18 clusters of themes and 7 categories were emerged. Eighteen cluster of themes formed 7 categories : Thinking of atopic dermatitis during 24 hour, Mom would cure you, You are atopic, I'm depressive, I need 12 or more bodies to take care of him/her, Great conversion of daily life, From a bitterness to a frailness, In peace with an atopic dermatitis. In this study, it was implicated that mothers were suffered from caring children with an atopic dermatitis and nurses need to have more interests in the maternal stress and their quality of life as well as provision of information.

  • The purpose of this study was to find the degree of satisfaction of the Korean elderly with their existing residential environment and their propensity to move. The data were collected through interviews and structured questionnaires. The subjects were 1,200 nationwide elderly over the age of 60 selected by probability sampling proportionate to size. cluster and random sampling method. The data were analyzed with frequency. percentage. and $X^2$-test using the SAS package. The major findings were as follows: Most subjects were satisfied with their housing environment and had no intention of moving. The subjects were highly satisfied with their residential environment. did not tend to move. This result does not necessarily mean that there is no need for better housing and no need to design elderly housing in Korea. It implies the need for community integrated housing development with flexible service system.
