  • In recent times, many accidents have occurred due to challenges in accurately identifying the location of workers, posing a significant societal concern demanding resolution. Therefore, it is essential to develop smart luminescent safety attire to enhance worker visibility in dim environments, thereby curbing accidents. In this study, we propose the utilization of textile-based OLED devices in creating smart luminescent safety clothing, aiming to augment the discernibility of workers over extended distances in low-luminance environments. In view of this, we engineered an attachable textile-based OLED module that balances high luminous efficiency with wearer comfort. Subsequently, a prototype smart luminescent safety clothing was demonstrated, and a performance evaluation was conducted to determine whether any discomfort occurred on wearing it. The fabricated OLED luminous module exhibited high luminance, thus validating the feasibility of creating smart luminescent attire with adequate brightness. Furthermore, there was no significant wearing stress observed, even after wearing it for more than 8 hours, and there was no impediment to various work-related movements. Through this research, we successfully demonstrated OLED based on smart luminescent safety clothing, which has the potential for wide-ranging applications across various industries and occupations, and is expected to play a crucial role in averting safety incidents.

  • The rising demand for fashion do-it-yourself (DIY) products that cater to individual preferences and which allow for creative expression has highlighted the need for systematic organization within the clothing society. This study addresses this gap by identifying and discussing clothing DIY packages and proposes a systematic package model comprising essential raw materials, commercial patterns, and production instructions. Four key elements have been emphasized to differentiate and enhance the product. Firstly, highly practical commercial patterns have been developed to facilitate easy transformations - from blouses to dresses. Furthermore, the versatility of these patterns has been optimized so as to allow their utilization as outerwear, increasing their efficiency. Secondly, to accommodate diverse body shapes, the package offers six different sizes, providing users with a range of options tailored to their specific measurements. Thirdly, detailed production instructions are provided, supplemented by a Q&A bulletin board. The instructions are available in a printed format, featuring actual photographs on A4 paper, while video production instructions are accessible via a QR code, ensuring comprehensive guidance. Lastly, the basic package comprises clothing patterns, production instructions, fabrics, and labels, providing a complete toolkit for clothing DIY enthusiasts. This study aims to contribute to the development of the hobby sewing field and to establish a practical resource for the clothing DIY package industry.

  • Recently, need for the development of the quantification of subjective evaluation is growing for the production of high-touch and high-tech textile products. In this study, Fuzzy theory is utilized for the evaluation of the wear comfort of the various blouses. Result of a new evaluation method and factor scores, validity of the new evalution technique adopted fuzzy theory was crosschecked with the results of fator analysis and factor scores. As results, fuzzy theory was proved to be adequate methodology to objectify the subjective evaluation of the adequacy of clothing which is worn. When DUNCAN'S multiple comparion among median of the fuzzy composite score were compared with the results of factor score, the sensitivity of the test methods tends to increase. Therefore, it is suggested that fuzzy weighted checklist is an alternative evaluation scale for the subjective comparison of the textile products. In addition, individual median of fuzzy composite score value should be treated by statistical for the sensitive analysis of subjective evalution.

  • This study aims to develop fashion designs that combine atlas fabric with the characteristics of Uygur costume to modernize the costume of the Xinjiang Uygur. Research contents and methods are as follows. First, based on previous studies, research analysis was conducted on the cultural background, clothing characteristics, and material of Uygur clothing. Second, based on such research contents, designs combining the characteristics of Uygur costume and atlas fabric were presented. Third, to analyze the utilization of atlas fabric and examine fabric characteristics, material was gathered from collections on domestic and foreign web sites. Through field explorations of local museums in the Xinjiang area, minority group culture was observed in more detail. Based on collection of traditional clothing and analysis of its characteristics, fashion designs that apply contemporary trends were developed. General silhouettes without any restrictions to the waist and decorations made using embroidery were often used. Atlas silk, developed in China using Ikat weaving methods, is an important traditional clothing fabric of the minority group Xinjiang. Based on such data collection analysis, the produced works highlighted traditional ethnic characteristics by extracting classical patterns of atlas fabric, modifying or partially expanding them, combining them with hand knitting, and adding contemporary sensations, thus providing confirmations of the possibility of popularizing classic patterns in more practical manners.
