This study aims to develop clothing sales forecast system using weather information. As the annual temperature variation affects changes in daily sales of seasonal clothes, sales period can be predicted growth, peak and decline period by changes of temperature. From this perspective, we analyzed the correlation between temperature and sales. Moving average method was applied in order to indicate long-term trend of temperature and sales changes. 7-day moving average temperature at the start/end points of the growth, peak, and decline period of S/S clothing sales was calculated as a reference temperature for sales forecast. According to the 2013 data analysis results, when 7-day moving average temperature value becomes $4^{\circ}C$ or higher, the growth period of S/S clothing sales starts. The peak period of S/S clothing sales starts at $17^{\circ}C$, up to the highest temperature. When temperature drops below $21^{\circ}C$ after the peak temperature, the decline period of S/S clothing sales is over. The reference temperature was applied to 2014 temperature data to forecast sales period. Through comparing the forecasted sales periods with the actual sales data, validity of the sales forecast system has been verified. Finally this study proposes 'clothing sales forecast system using weather information' as the method of clothing sales forecast.
Database marketing is a series of marketing activities based on the customer database for increasing the customer's life-time value. In this thesis. we applied database marketing to the sales promotional strategies of Casual Korean Traditional Clothes to activate wearing of Casual Korean Traditional Clothes. To achieve this goal, we surveyed the consciousness of wearing and purchases for Casual Korean Traditional Clothes. and extract information that can be utilized in the sales promotional strategies. According to the result, the proposed sales promotional strategies for Casual Korean Traditional Clothes are summarized as follows : (1) Useful information for the customer should be stored in the database and utilized in the marketing. (2) It is necessary to shorten the cycle of repeated purchases by emphasizing daily-life clothing of Casual Korean Traditional Clothes especially for the aged 20-40. (3) Since Casual Korean Traditional Clothes are usually weared as a ceremonial clothes in the fall, direct mail, fashion show, and advertising in the mass media should be concentrated on this season. (4) Value-added marketing should be derived by cross-selling of items harmonized with Casual Korean Traditional Clothes. (5) To guarantee fixed customers and increased usage of Casual Korean Traditional Clothes, - give point score, discount, or selling on an installment basis for the customers who use credit cards or department cards. - select privileged customers by analyzing purchase history and provide multiple services for these customers. - let the customers rent Casual Korean Traditional Clothes in an appropriate cost, and make customer cards for the construction of elaborated customer database. (6) To increase the acknowledgement of Casual Korean Traditional Clothes, not only Persistent publicity, but also fashion show, visual merchandising, and advertisement in mass media should be conducted as well.
The purpose of this study was to identify and to compare the fashion show effectiveness between consumers and sponsors. The data were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, cross-tab, t-test and Kruskal Wallis with utilizing SPSS for Windows. The results of this study were as follow: 1. There was a favorable attitude towards fashion show itself but negative attitude towards possibility of purchasing clothes through fashion show. 2. Possibility of purchasing clothes through fashion show was very rare. Only 7.3% of consumers showed the experience of purchasing clothes through the show. 3. There were significant differences in the perception of watching fashion show purpose between consumers and sponsors. Consumers considered fashion show as more entertaining factor but sponsors considered show as more informative and sales promotion factor. 4. There was different recognition about purpose of having fashion show between consumers and sponsors. Sponsors utilized fashion show for the sales promotion medium but consumers recognized the fashion show as publicity for the company. 5. Sponsors showed more favorable attitude towards fashion show than consumers group.
The traditional market in the nation was forced to decrease greatly users as well as sales because of opening of all of the markets, Internet shopping mall, home shopping and other new types of marketing businesses to lose market functions remarkably. Therefore, the Agency for Traditional Market Administration of Small & Medium Business Administration made efforts to develop traditional market, for instance, modernization of the facilities to improve physical environment, and improvement of each shop by using VMD, and so on. The purpose of the study was to examine efficiency of VMD shops for development of traditional market by the Agency for Traditional Market Administration and effects of VMD upon sales of each shop, and to help establish VMD strategies for customer satisfactions as well as visual environment of traditional market. The author visited five shops at Busan Jin Market, special market of articles for wedding ceremony that joined VMD shop guide of traditional market, and taught VMD on-the-spot and investigated it. Questionnaire of Agency for Traditional Market Administration was used to interview shop owners, shopkeepers and consumers, etc and to examine factors of changes of sales and customers' satisfactions before and after VMD. The purpose of the study was to investigate effects and satisfactions of increase of the sales of VMD shop guide that the government promoted to develop traditional market so far. Therefore, the author investigated VMD presentation, increase of the sales before and after VMD presentation, increase of number of customers, and satisfactions, etc of Korean clothes shops that joined improvement of VMD shop guide of traditional market of the government in 2010. The author investigated effects of the sales, increase of customers and satisfactions, etc by case study and empirical analysis, and she presented user-oriented VMD presentation techniques of traditional market and suggested improvement. After applying VMD, the shops could increase sales more than 20 percent in average, and satisfaction of VMD presentation was more than 88 points or more to be very much high. This study suggested VMD strategies and presentation of traditional market to give consumers affirmative visual images and to develop traditional market.
This paper is a study on the information required for developing Korean clothing products intended for Chinese students in Korea and for opening markets of Korean clothing and brands in China. It analyses the buying behaviors, purchasing ability, the favourite apparel type for clothing, and satisfaction with Korean clothing and brands of Chinese students in Korea, with which it seeks a program for South Korea branding to enter into the Chinese clothing market. Three hundred fifty seven students of Hannam University and PaiChai University Chung nam National University in Daejeon-city took part in this study. This paper adopts Descriptive Analysis, Crossing Analysis, Bivariate Correlations, and One-way ANOVA in SPSS 17.0 with Post Hoc Multiple Comparisons to know about the impact of demographic variables of Chinese students in Korea on buying information sources, the criteria for store selection, buying capacity, praise degree on various properties of Korean clothes products and their satisfaction with Korean clothes products. The first proposal of expanding China market for Korean merchants is to achieve maximum sales based on sales promotion strategies, such as the credit card corporations, the store display and sales person service development, SPA, design size development, and to upgrade consumption values. Also we proposed an ideal model appropriate to increase sales and show the analysis results compared to conventional clothes market in open market.
A fur has emerged as one of fashion staples. there has been a rising interest in fur industry. Therefore, this study investigated how to estimate the amount of raw materials consumed at the production of fur clothes, and the scope of the study was limited to mink clothes. For an empirical study, in addition, Koreans' favorable mink design was chosen based on previous studies and sales of fur clothes, and its consumption was estimated. The consumption of mink clothes depends on the special feature of natural resources such as place of origin, gender and variety. Therefore the method of consumption for mink clothes is inevitably different from it of fiber clothes. Considering the procedure of mink clothe's production as collect same kind of a fur and process though pattern placement, first is outfut work for consumption. At estimation of the consumption of mink clothes, the number of minks was counted by matching the area of mink skin with that of the mink cloth patterns. Then, the usable area of the patterns was calculated after splitting them into diverse figures such as triangle, quadrangle and trapezoid. If we divide area by using the similar in shape of pattern and calculate, We can find high efficiency by reducing extra space. Specially we can expect more efficient work system when we use computers for efficient division of area.
The purpose of this study was to research production situation of made-to-measure clothes of ready-towear manufacturers for middle-aged women. This study will be the basis of developing production model of mass customized clothing for middle-aged women. For the questionnaire, 18 ready-to-wear manufacturers, which were producing made-to-measure clothes and in higher ranking of sales, were selected and the pattern makers of the manufacturers were questioned about 29 items for this research. The results of the questionnaire were as follows: 1. The production ratio of made-to-measure clothes was increasing and most manufacturers have problems making fitted clothes for each customer. 2. The most common reason to order made-to-measure clothes was the sizes according to the various somatotypes and the proportion difference of a body. 3. The common somatotypes of upper body for made-to-measure clothes were obesity, large bust, bent forward posture, and leaning back posture. 4. The common somatotypes of lower body for made-to-measure clothes were obesity, prominent abdomen, prominent abdomen-prominent hip, and prominent hip. 5. Pattern making for made-to-measure clothes was to use production patterns or make new patterns.
The purpose of this study is to seek for a plan of marketing strategy in the businesses of Korean clothes, by examining the causality among marketing factors, which have influenced CRM(Customer Relationship Management) performance in Korean clothes. As for the research method, a research model was designed to include routes form 4P's(products, price, promotion, place) through endogenous variables to performance variables, and a questionnaire was developed on the basis of theoretical background. The research participants were male and female adults at their age from 20 to 60. The survey was conducted in March of 2003, and 672 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. In terms of data analysis, we carried out reliability analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling by using SPSSWIN 10.0 and AMOS 4.0. As a result 4P's were indicated to have influence upon confidence, satisfaction and commitment of customers. Especially, sales promotion factor was found to have the biggest impact on them. also, the quality of relationship affected CRM performance. as sales promotion factor was identified as one of the integral elements of marketing strategies, a strategy that utilizes a role of salespeople and enhances the quality of service is needed.
On-line clothes sale are on the increase, and the returns(for replacements or refunds) of the clothes are also increasing. Many studies on off-line consumers' complaints were made before, but few studies on the returns of clothes sold on-line have been made. From this viewpoint, this study was conducted to know what effect returns of clothes sold on-line have on their brands. Therefore, this study was first focused on the factors affecting complaint acts(return intention or return acts) such as lack of information and recognition of product, delivery errors and product defects concerning on-line sales, and second investigated the changes of buyers' attitude toward the brand following the their acts of returning the buyers, and third looked into the changes of on-line buyers' attitude toward the brand. The study is carried out by subdividing the objects of the study into return action(replacement, refundment) and purchasers who experienced return intention. Such experience is demonstratively analyzed to find how it has affected the attitude toward the brand. The study comes up with the following outcomes. First, the effect factor causing complaint action(return action, return intention) on-line is shown as the lack of the information and recognition of the product. Second, it is revealed that the effect factor causing complaint(return action, return intention) does not lie in an error in delivery or a defect of a product. Third, the positive response of a brand to a return action does not raise the repurchasing intention and positive attitude of purchasers who experienced returning a product, but lowers their private complaint action intention. Fourth, the repurchase intention of purchasers who experienced return intention for the brand is lowered, but their negative attitude and private complaint action intention is not raised.
