Due to the virtual nature of online businesses, online apparel stores need to enhance the consumer experience by utilizing store design attributes to provide their customers relevant and sufficient information. Since online apparel stores mainly communicate with their customers virtually and digitally, it is important to understand how consumers perceive and react to different design attributes commonly found on apparel stores' online websites. The purpose of this paper is to examine the importance of design attributes commonly found on online apparel stores' websites using three different importance measurements. The design attributes examined in this study include enlarged pictures, product detail pictures, product reviews by other buyers, coordinating items, and size measurement charts. The three different measurements used in this study include two direct measures and one indirect measure using conjoint analysis. Across the three different measures, both the men and women indicated that enlarged pictures represent the most important design attribute when they purchase clothes online followed by size measurement charts and they considered the availability of coordinating items the least important design attribute.
The purposes of this study was to examine the college students'value and the status of their clothing purchasing behavior, and to compare the correlation between both of them. The questions were centered on 511 students who are attending the universities in Seoul. The results of this study were as follows. First, most students have higher value on politics, economy, and theory in the order listed. Male-students were interested in theory, while female-students were more interested in politics. Second, when they purchase their clothes, the factor of decision was based on design and their observation was another important factor. As for selecting shops, they considered the product as the most important factor and then the service & transportation. Third, I inspected the correlation between their value & the status of their clothing purchasing behavior. The students with lower theoretical value considered the quality as a purchasing factor, and the service as a purchasing factor, common shop as a purchasing shop, adn the convenient transportation system as a factor of selecting a shop.
Consumer consider the purpose for which they plan to use clothes when they purchase it, and the socks in textile products is evaluated in the same way. serviceability is judged by the extent to which the socks will be useful for its intended purpose. It should retain its original shape and size, good air permeability, good absorbency, good abrasion resistance, high fastness etc. Owing to importance of serviceability in socks, in this paper, these end-use requirement characteristics were tested. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Blend ratios were different between the indicated fiber contents on labels and the testing ones. 2. Air permeability was higher in the samples which contain less stitch density, and hydroscopicity was higher in those which contain natural fibers such as cotton and wool. 3. Shrinkage depended on the blend ratios of cotton and wool, and elastic recovery was better in the course direction than in the wale direction. 4. Pilling was conspicuous in the synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon, and fastness of laundering and perspiration was higher in the fading grade than in the staining grade.

The purpose of this study was 1) to find out the benefits sought factors of jeans and to segment the consumer market 2) to analyze Purchase behavior, brand loyalty, and demo- graphic characteristics of benefit segments. The subjects were 350 male and female university students who have purchased at least one of the nine jeans brands selected for this study. For statistical analysis, reliability test, percentage, factor analysis, cluster analysis, x2-test, and analysis of variance were used. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Benefits sought by consumer were found to include four different factors-brand value, individuality, fashionability, and practicality. 2. As a result of subdividing the consumers, three distinctive groups were formed on the basis of benefit factors-individuality.fashion oriented group, brand value oriented group, and practicality oriented group. 3. Brand value oriented group rated the highest in all of following variables number of jeans possessed and purchased annually, brand loyalty, average household income, average monthly allowences, and amount of money spent in purchasing clothes in each season. Individuality - fashion oriented group rated the second.

Today women's social participation is highly increasing, and especially the middle-aged women's activity is amazing. However, many ladies have trouble in wearing suits or jackets. Because the current ready-made apparels focus on young and slender women, and accordingly the current size system is made for them. So it is necessary to develop new size system for general ladies who are hardly well-proportioned figures. The survey of mid-life ladies in this Paper vividly reveals the above Problem. Many ladies dissatisfied with the fitness of the existing apparels. Therefore updating the current size system of ladies' apparels is badly needed. It also helps reducing corporates' stock-holding costs and customer's clothes-adjusting expenses.

The purpose of this study was to examine the consumer's quality evaluation on the apparel of adult males and females. A demonstrative study was conducted using a questionnaire on adults over 20 years old who were considered to afford to purchase clothes. A total of 380 questionnaires were used for the demonstrative analysis. The study used SPSSWIN V.8.0 for the analysis. Frequency analysis, ANOVA, t-test, multiple regression analysis, and duncan test are executed. The study result is as follows: First, 19 attributes of customer quality perception are grouped into 2 categories of satisfier, dissatisfier factor by the role of each attribute. Second, significant differences are found partly in quality indications- including fabric compositions, sizes, fabric care, manufactured-place, and the place of origin, the importance degree of indication and general satisfaction in quality indicating system.
In modern society, there exists a growing tendency that the product image, rather than the substance of the product, is given more and more emphasis. In other words, consumers tend to purchase a product whose brand image coincides with their self image. Today, it is one of the essential factors for marketing strategy of a modern enterprise to have brand image perceived by consumer self-image. The image, by affecting the perception of consumers, explains the reason why some consumers choose one brand out of many brands that are available to them. Furthermore, brand-image perceived by consumers becomes more important factor in improving the company's market share. For this research, we investigated the theoretical background based on previous studies and collected statistical data through a market survey. The results of the actual research indicate that the attributes of the images differ notably depending upon demographic attributes; that the brand image judged by a customer is positively correlated to the customer's self image; and that the regression analysis of the purchase intention in accordance with coincidence of independent variables proved to be insignificant. But the correlation analysis of the variables shows that the sensuous image of a perceived brand image product notable differences in the purchase intention. Most of Consumers tend to prefer certain brand of causal wears in accordance with their cognized brand-image and self-image: social self-image and actual self-image. Corporate must not spare any effort to establish differential advantage. through better image or changing image. Also marketers have to identify the strengths and weakness of their brand in relation to the competition in setting up their brand management strategy. In conclusion, the outcomes of the study suggest that the consumers purchase the images of the brands, rather than the products themselves. Accordingly, in the clothes markets with similar quality levels, the emphasis should be put on differentiation of the brand images in order to further increase sales and maximize profits.
The purpose of this study is to systematize the theory of the Fashion Marketing and merchandi-sing system as well as the strategy for the Mar-keting based on the related variable. Furthermore, this study deals with development of the mark-eting strategy to the relation between consumers and industry. The content conclusion on the research can be outlined as follows : 1. In order to inverstigate how the life-style of consumers affects their sense of fashion, awa-reness of brand, and decision making process of purchase, the life-style of women consumers is classified into 15 types. (1) Acording to the different life-style types, and important difference is found in the consum-ers' sense of clothes, a unique image of outfit and its own favorite image of womanliness. (2) The consumer's awareness of a particular brand has a reasonable relationship with their brand preference and possession of the brands. (3) Their is an important discrimination acco-rding to the life-style types in their brand awar-eness and preference and possesion of brands. (4) The consumers of each life-style type show noticeable difference in the decision making pro-cess of purchase including he motive of purchase, the source of information, the cause of purchase intention, price, the frequency of purchase and the degree of satisfaction of purchased goods. 2. The merchandising system and the market positioning among the fashion industry are compared and analyzed in the following terms ; (1-1) For the purpose of establishing the target market strategy, the industry uses unreasenalbe methods to analyze the life-style of the target customers and the real customers(36%) and the aging phenomenon of brands is remarkable : as much as 37% of brands show over 5 years-old age gap. (1-2) The price setting process depends highly on the cost-plus approach. (1-3) In color planning, too many colors are used in every season(the average number is 22.3) and the investigation of the consumers' favorite color is neglected. (1-4) The manufacturers of successful brands are much likely to employ the textile designer and allow them to develop the various fabrication. (1-5) The regular rate of sales in each season is extremely low(56.04%) : the rate of the succ-essful brands is relatively high at 65%, but that of the unsuccessful as low as 51%. (1-6) 47% of brands reveal the designer-orie-nted fashion merchandising system. The successful brands, on the other hand, show a high rate of merchandiser oriented system. (2) Since the brand positioning is highly cen-tered on each brand image, styles and target age, the new data are presented in this study for the new market development. (3) To set up the target market, the mapping of images between the differentiated market and the consumers is suggersted according to the market positioning of industry and 15 types of the life-styles of consumers.
This study aims to investigate the characteristics of Chinese consumers, who are growing up as the global biggest consumption market, according to G sensibility types, and to provide the data base for China market by analyzing the consuming pattern per sensibility and the preferred color. For the investigation, the survey on G sensibility and consuming pattern was conducted for consumers in four cities of China. As a result of classification of G sensibility types, it was found that Chinese consumers tended to behave in accordance with their values and identities and the most general type in them was G1 pursuing the reasonable and logical consumption, unlike Korean consumers who tended to be shown as G3 for the most general type according to the preceding study. As to characteristic of consumption, Chinese consumers preferred to purchase clothes from the department store, and in case of G2 type, the characteristics was corresponded with Actionist's character which shows the wide range of behavior and high-consumption, by preferring the road-shop next to the department store. Chinese consumers tended to purchase the clothes on the basis of their preferred colors, and especially it was shown that achromatic color was very commonly preferred. Also the black color was on the highest preference, and white, dark gray and light gray were followed. Meanwhile, in chromatic color, it was found that brown, orange, red and blue were preferred in order, and in case of G4, it was found that they preferred more various colors compared to the other types. This result could be used as the data base for the marketing strategy of fashion design industry and the related companies, as well as the new communication method for the consumers.

The purpose of this study is to develop a concept map in a visual instructional strategy so that meaningful learning can be done by structuring knowledge in the section of eco-friendly clothing life and reform clothes. For this purpose, ten textbooks for the 2009 revised were analyzed, and 10 sub-area were selected to develop the concept map. The development was done by using Cmap Tools V6.02 and the study process has progressed content analysis, concept extraction, and concept map development. The analysis process and results of this study are as follows. First, in the course of setting standards, the analytical standards were set for the 2007 revision and 2009 revision curriculum achievement standards. Second, in the process of content analysis and concept extracting, through the analysis of textbooks, 'clothing selection and purchase', 'clothing care and management' and 'clothing reuse and eco-friendly'. The concept was extracted by subdividing on the basis of general and comprehensive core concepts. Third, the development process of concept map was developed and revised based on the extracted concepts, and the concept map developed was the 'clothing purchase plan', 'points to consider when buying clothing' 'quality', 'handle with care', 'classify laundry', 'remove stain', 'water washing', 'repair clothing', 'reform clothing', 'eco-friendly clothing life'.
