A drastic development of modern cities and transportation means as part of a rapid industrialization and urbanization for the past half-century has consistently broaden the boundaries of urban dwellers while, at the same time, raising issues as to establishing relationships among them throughout the society following the materialization of modern urban planning. Within the framework of the postmodern concept, there have been consistent efforts to create a community space in appropriate size and, in particular, the concept of New Urbanism and Urban Village that emerged in mid 1800s along with the effort to build a community by building an ideal city provides an important meaning today when people are seeking to restore a healthy community. Against this backdrop, this study aims to explore the concept of community and to determine its optimal scope of implementation in the sense of healing environment under the premise that organizing a healthy city is based on building a solid urban community. The study findings and conclusions are as follows. First, a community is a subject of constant consideration in the process of historical development of the city and has required us to take a variety of strategic approaches and to determine the scope of implementation. Second, the activities of a healthy community have been conducted under various types of environments, including churches, commercial facilities, urban plazas, parks, and streets in various scales, reflecting their unique characteristics. Third, in the process of designing a healthy and sustainable city, determination of location carries significant implications along with building a community of appropriate size, which requires multidisciplinary considerations in addition to functional approaches. Fourth, the composition and design of a modern urban community need to seek practical ways of its implementation within the concept of healing environment.
The compositions of ethnic groups in Macau vary with time. Prior to the opening of the port, the majority of the residents in Macau were Chinese people, including those living on land and at sea. After the port was opened, with the increase of Portugal businessmen and missionaries, the population was divided into Chinese people and foreigners (so-called 'Yiren' or 夷人 in Chinese). Chinese people living on land were mainly of Hakka, Fujian, and Cantonese descent. Those living at sea were referred to as 'Tanka People' (named 'Danmin' or 蜑民in Chinese). They lived on floating boats for their entire lives and were similar to the 'drifters' in Japan. Since modern times, many refugees from mainland China and Southeast Asia flooded into Macau due to warfare. The development of industrialization required a larger number of laborers, and some 'coolies' entered Macau in legal or illegal ways, making it a multi-ethnic city. However, the Tanka people were not considered a minority ethnic group under the national ethnic policy of 56 ethnic groups since they did not have an exclusive language and shared dialects in different regions. As the ports inhabited by Tanka people gradually restored foreign trade, the boats and stilt houses used by Tanka people were dismantled to expand the infrastructure area of the ports. Many Tanka people began to live on land and marry people on land, leading to the disappearance of the Tanka group in Macau. The fishing boats and stilt houses used by Tanka people have also disappeared, with only a few remaining in areas such as Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong. This paper examines the natural and social environment of Tanka people in Macau from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic of China, as well as the adaptive changes they adopted for the aforementioned environment in terms of living space and architectural type, on the basis of summarizing the historical activities of Tanka people. Finally, this study provides a layout plan and interior structure of the most commonly used boat for Tanka people from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic of China, with the use of CAD and other technical software, along with reference to written historical documentation, and provides a case study for further research on the architectural history of Macau's inner harbor cities, from anthropological and folklore perspectives.
Background: Emergent and re-emergent canine tick-borne infections are attracting increasing attention worldwide. The rise in pet ownership and the close relationship between dogs and their owners are the most concerning factors because dogs may act as competent reservoirs for human tick-transmitted infectious agents. Objectives: This study contributes to the epidemiological surveillance of canine tick-transmitted infections with zoonotic risk in the Republic of Korea (ROK) by investigating the seroprevalence of the pathogens, Anaplasma spp., Borrelia burgdorferi, and Ehrlichia canis. Methods: Four hundred and thirty whole blood samples from domestic dogs were collected in seven metropolitan cities and nine provinces in the ROK and tested using SensPERT Ab test kits (VetAll Laboratories®) to detect seroreactive animals. Results: The seroprevalence rates identified were 9.8% (42/430) for Anaplasma spp., 2.8% (12/430) for B. burgdorferi, and 1.4% (6/430) for E. canis. The risk factors evaluated in this study that could be associated with the development of a humoral immune response, such as sex, age, and history of tick exposure, were similar. There was only one exception for dogs seroreactive to Anaplasma spp., where the risk factor "tick exposure" was statistically significant (p = 0.047). Conclusions: This serological survey exhibited the widespread presence of Anaplasma spp., B. burgdorferi, and E. canis throughout the ROK. Hence, dogs may play a key role as the sentinel animals of multiple zoonotic infectious agents in the country.

The light rail transit (LRT) having bus lines as subsystem is being constructed or planned in the suburban area of metropolitans and medium size cities. However, there is difficulty in establishing the service coverage (SC) of the LRT because the LRT is a completely new transit mode in Korea. The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data and techniques to be used for establishing the SC of the future LRT by understanding the SC characteristics of buses and subways and building models to estimate the walking distances of their users. Busan City is selected as the study city and the SC's of buses and subways are surveyed simultaneously. A total of 9 variables for 82 stations are collected and the cluster analysis is conducted about the variables. The station areas are divided to three types of CBD (Central Business District), sub-CBD and regional center based on the analysis. A station in each area is selected as the study station. At the walking distance (WD) analysis for each mode, the 80 percentile WD of the subway is 672 m and that of the bus is 472 m. In comparing the SC's of both modes by the type of station areas, there are not significant differences between the SC's of sub-CBD and regional center except CBD. At analysis of the relationship between the personal attributes and the WD, for subway users the WD of female is longer than that of male and apartment residents use subway more positively than single house residents do. For the models to estimate the walking distances, the simple regression models were built employing the income as independent variable by dividing the stations into CBD abd non-CBD stations.

Bus information system(BIS), as a part of the intelligent transportation system(ITS), is one of the most advanced public transportation systems which provide the real-time bus traffic information for the users waiting the buses at the bus stop. However, correct bus information data, such as the present bus location, the user waiting time, the bus arrival time, etc. are not provided for the bus users because the proper bus arrival time predictive models are not used yet in most of the cities operating the bus information system, including the metropolitan City of Ulsan. Thus, the purpose in this study is to investigate real-time bus traffic characteristic data for identifying the bus operation characteristics on the arterial under the study in the metropolitan City of Ulsan, analyze real-time bus traffic characteristic data on the ID locations of the arterial under the study, construct the optimal unit segment models for the unit segments which are the bus stop, node and travel section using the exponential smoothing, weighted smoothing and Kalman Filter methods, respectively, and finally suggest the optimal integrated model for predicting the real-time bus arrival time at the bus stop of the arterial under the study.

The aim of this study is to analyze the spatial association of regional economic growth and land use considering 5 plus 2 regional economic sphere (Capital region zone, Chungchung zone, Honam zone, Daekyung zone, Dongnam zone and kangwon zone, Jejudo zone) in Korea. The factors of regional economic growth are GRDP and the rate of self-finance and land use, especially industrial and manufactering zone. The data for this research are obtained by National Statistical Office web-site etc. For this, the Seemingly Unrelated Regression(SUR), as a kind of simultaneous equation model, is employed as empirical analysis. Overall results of this study show that the spatial association of the capital region zone and other zones is complementary. but Honam zone and Dongnam zone or Daekyung zone is competitive. We conclude from this study that the policy of regional development will be considered in accordance with the regional economic growth and land use. Also, this study found that Economic growth of regional economic sphere will be achieved from that of cities within zone and the results will be helpful to policy makers and regional planners when establishing regional planning in the future.
Recent advancements in data measuring technology have facilitated the installation of various sensors, such as pressure meters and flow meters, to effectively assess the real-time conditions of water distribution systems (WDSs). However, as cities expand extensively, the factors that impact the reliability of measurements have become increasingly diverse. In particular, demand data, one of the most significant hydraulic variable in WDS, is challenging to be measured directly and is prone to missing values, making the development of accurate data generation models more important. Therefore, this paper proposes an adversarially trained autoencoder (ATAE) model based on generative deep learning techniques to accurately estimate demand data in WDSs. The proposed model utilizes two neural networks: a generative network and a discriminative network. The generative network generates demand data using the information provided from the measured pressure data, while the discriminative network evaluates the generated demand outputs and provides feedback to the generator to learn the distinctive features of the data. To validate its performance, the ATAE model is applied to a real distribution system in Austin, Texas, USA. The study analyzes the impact of data uncertainty by calculating the accuracy of ATAE's prediction results for varying levels of uncertainty in the demand and the pressure time series data. Additionally, the model's performance is evaluated by comparing the results for different data collection periods (low, average, and high demand hours) to assess its ability to generate demand data based on water consumption levels.
As the world progresses towards a global society as time goes by, it is a natural reality that interpreting the fortunes of people born in foreign countries will inevitably increase in the future. If the time of birth is different, a big problem arises in the theory of MyungLiollgy. Therefore, this researcher decides whether to use the local standard time of the country of birth or convert it to the Korean time zone when a foreign-born person writes four weeks, because the position of the sun determines the time and date, so the local standard time It was concluded that it was appropriate to use it, and to support the discussion on the correction of true solar time in Eastern and Western countries, we carefully selected major countries and major cities where the time difference between the currently used national standard time and the true solar time according to the actual longitude line was expected, and the results were presented. was calculated and derived. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the time difference between the national standard time and the true solar time is much greater than the general idea. On the other hand, through the case of actual foreign-born people, it was possible to find out the great influence of summer time on the composition of the sandbar, in addition to the influence of the exact time difference on the birth date and cutting time. Through the results of this study, it is thought that we have laid the systematic foundation of the myo-logical theory on the correction of true solar time in Eastern and Western countries for the simplicity of the four weeks of foreign-born people, and this will serve as an opportunity to reduce confusion about the method of simplifying the four weeks of foreign-born people. It is assumed that it will be possible.
Project evaluation is the process of evaluating the progress and results of a project. Smart city projects can be divided into system components (infrastructure, services, platforms), or projects can run simultaneously for multiple services. In addition, services are developed and expanded through additional projects. In order to ensure that the smart city, which is composed of various projects, proceeds in accordance with the goals and strategies, periodic project evaluation is required during the project implementation process. The smart city project evaluation system proposed in this paper is designed to provide comprehensive and objective indicators by reflecting various factors that must be considered for projects occurring in all stages of planning, design, construction, and operation of smart cities. The indicators derived from the evaluation system can be used by decision makers to determine the direction of smart city project development. In addition, it is designed so that the performance of the project can be evaluated interim before the end of the project and the feedback obtained from it can be reflected. To introduce the application method of the smart city project evaluation system proposed in this study, the evaluation system developed in this study was applied to the smart city project case of Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ). Based on the evaluation results, items that can maximize the improvement effect of each smart city project item were presented, and the direction of smart city project implementation was suggested. By utilizing a smart city project evaluation system that reflects the characteristics of smart city projects that are composed of multiple projects, comprehensive planning and management of smart city projects will be possible, and this study will serve as a reference for identifying priority improvement factors for projects.
To determine levels of 11 sulfonamides for animals in food, simultaneously, a selective method of high performance liquid chromatography with UV detector has been applied. The targets were sulfachlorpyridazine (SCP), sulfadiazine (SDZ), sulfadimethoxine (SDM), sulfisoxazole (SSX), sulfamerazine (SMZ), sulfamethazine (SMT), sulfamethoxazole (SMX), sulfamethoxypyridazine (SMP), sulfamonomethoxine (SMM), sulfaquinoxaline (SQX) and sulfathiazole (STZ). Food samples were beef, pork, chicken, milk and whole egg that were collected at the main 6 cities in Korea as Seoul, Busan, Daejon, Incheon, Mokpo and Gangneung. After homogenizing food samples with sodium phosphate solution and acetonitrile, it was extracted with n-hexane. The mobile phase gradient was a mixture of 5 mM potassium phosphate (pH 3.25) and methanol with a gradient ratio from 100:0 to 30:70. The UV wavelength was 270 nm. The overall recoveries were ranged from 75% to 95% and the limit of detection was minimum 0.004 mg/kg for SMT, and 0.007 mg/kg for STZ at signal/noise > 3, respectively. As results, sulfonamide drugs were not detected in most of the selected food samples, however, sulfamonomethoxine was detected in meat. The determined level of sulfamonomethoxine were 0.03 and 0.06 mg/kg for beef that were below the MRLs.
