  • Xenon behaves differently in molten salt reactors (MSRs) compared to solid fuel reactors. This behavior needs exploring due to the large reactivity effect of the 135Xe isotope, given the current interest in MSR power plant development for commercial deployment. This paper focuses on select topics in xenon transport, reviews relevant past works, and proposes specific research questions to advance the state of the art in each of the focus areas. Specifically, the paper discusses the issue of xenon solubility in MSRs, the behavior of particulates circulating in MSR fuel salt and its influence on the xenon transport, the possibility of ionization of xenon atoms which changes its effective size and thus affects its mass transport, and finally the issue of circulating void fraction and how it is measured. This work presents specific recommendations for MSR designers to research the limits of Henry's law validity, circulating particulate scrubbers, validity of mass transport coefficients in high radiation fields, and the effects of pump speed on circulating void fraction.

  • Gastric cancer is still the leading cause of cancer deaths, especially in Asian countries. Recently, many studies have analyzed cell-free nucleic acids (cfNAs) circulating in the blood, for the early diagnosis of cancer and monitoring its progression. Circulating tumor nucleic acids (ctNAs) originate in a tumor and contain tumor-related genetic or epigenetic alterations. This review defines the nomenclatures of each form of cfNAs and describes the characteristics of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and microRNA (miRNA), two major forms of ctNAs studied in gastric cancer research to date. We compare available studies on ctDNA, and explain trends observed in studies of miRNAs in gastric cancers. As these new blood-based biomarkers have attracted increasing attention, we have discussed several important points to be considered before the clinical translation of ctNA detection. We have also discussed the current status of research in this field, and clinical applications of specific ctNAs as tumor markers for gastric cancer diagnosis.

  • High frequency AC (HFAC) power distribution systems delivering power through a high frequency AC link with sinusoidal voltage have the advantages of simple structure and high efficiency. In a multiple module system, where multiple resonant inverters are paralleled to the high frequency AC bus through connection inductors, it is necessary for the output voltage phase angles of the inverters be controlled so that the circulating current among the inverters be minimized. However, the phase angle of the resonant inverters output voltage can not be controlled with conventional phase shift modulation or pulse width modulation. The phase angle is a function of both the phase of the gating signals and the impedance of the resonant tank. In this paper, we proposed a pulse phase modulation (PPM) concept for the resonant inverters, so that the phase angle of the output voltage can be regulated. The PPM can be used to minimize the circulating current between the resonant inverters. The mechanisms of the phase angle control and the PPM were explained. The small signal model of a PPM controlled half-bridge resonant inverter was analyzed. The concept was verified in a half bridge resonant inverter with a series-parallel resonant tank. An HFAC power distribution system with two resonant inverters connected in parallel to a 500kHz, 28V AC bus was presented to demonstrate the applicability of the concept in a high frequency power distribution system.

  • In this paper, installation type is analyzed into a single and mixed burying type on burying situation of domestic underground transmission cables, and problem of underground cable is discussed with investigating the relation between burying type and sheath circulation current. Investigated cable systems are 520 T/L which have 512T/L for 154kV and 8T/L for 345kV. The authors consider that the analysis of sheath circulating current with burying type will contribute for setting reduction methods of sheath circulation current.

  • The conventional three-level high frequency phase-shifted dc/dc converter has a disadvantage that a circulating current flows through transformer and switching devices during the freewheeling interval. Due In this circulating current and RMS current stress, conduction losses of transformer and switching devices increases. To alleviate these problems, we propose an improved three-level Zero Voltage and Zero Current Switching (ZVZCS) dc/dc converter using a tapped inductor, a snubber capacitor and two snubber diodes attached at the secondary side of transformer The proposed ZVZCS converter is verified on a 7kW, 30kHz experimental prototype.

  • This paper presents the ZVZCS(Zero- Voltage and Zero-Current-Switching) Full-Bridge converter using the secondary coupled inductor and auxiliary capacitor. The converter with phase-shift control is proposed to reduce the circulating loss in primary and the voltage stress in secondary side. Using a coupled winding of the output inductor, two auxiliary capacitors are generated to reset the primary current at circulating interval.

  • This paper proposes a finite element method (FEM)-based model of an interior permanent magnet (IPM) type BLDC motor having stator inter-turn faults. For more realistic simulation studies, the magnetic non-linearity is also considered in proposed model. And the simulation data are verified through experiment. By integrating the developed model with a current-controlled voltage source inverter (CCVSI) model, the characteristics of an inter-turn fault operated by six-switched inverter are investigated considering the speed control. And the circulating current, which is induced by magnetic linkage flux originated from PM, was analyzed from the view point of distortion of air-gap magnetic flux distribution caused deterioration of their torque.

  • DC distribution system is difficult to compose the single-system because of the capacity restriction of power semiconductors. Therefore, DC Distribution system needs parallel operation of AC/DC converters for increase to system capacity. However, this system generates the circulating current. This paper is reducing the circulating current and safely sharing the load using the proposed DC current droop control method when each other 3-phase AC/DC converter connected. This system confirms through the simulation and experiment. Also, when each other converter of parallel operate. it is compared the response characteristics
