U-자형 곡관내의 유동특성에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE FLOW CHARACTERISTICS INSIDE A U-TYPE TUBE)

  • A numerical study of the flow characteristics inside a U-type circular tube is carried out in this paper. The numerical simulations carried out by using a Navier-Stokes code which is commercially available. Before detailed numerical simulations, validation of present numerical approach is made by comparing numerical solutions with experimental data. Numerical simulations are performed to study the effect of curvature on the flow characteristics inside a U-type tube. Numerical solutions show that a significant effect on the secondary flow structure in the cross section of the tube, especially in the curved section is shown when the curvature ratio, ratio of curvature to tube diameter, is smaller than about 3.5. As the curvature ratio decreases below 3.5, a counter rotating vortex is found below the primary vortex in the cross section of the tube. Another dramatic change of the flow structure is the formation of streamwise separation zone when the curvature ratio is decreased below 1.25.

하나로 원형 조사공의 안내관 제트유동 억제에 대한 해석 (THE ANALYTIC ANALYSIS OF SUPPRESSING JET FLOW AT GUIDE TUBE OF CIRCULAR IRRADIATION HOLE IN HANARO)

  • The HANARO, a multi-purpose research reactor of 30 MWth, open-tank-in-pool type, has been under normal operation since its initial criticality in February, 1995. The HANARO is composed af inlet plenum, grid plate, core channel with flow tubes and chimney. The reactor core channel is located at about twelve meters (12 m) depth of the reactor pool and cooled by the upward flow that the coolant enters the lower inlet of the plenum, rises up through the grid plate and the core channel and comes out from the outlet of chimney. A fission moly guide tube is extended from the reactor core to the top of the reactor chimney for easily loading a fission moly target under the reactor normal operation. But active coolant through the core can be quickly raised up to the top of the chimney through the guide tube by jet flow. This paper describes an analytical analysis that is the study of the flow behavior through the guide tube under reactor normal operation and unloading the target. As results, it was conformed through the analysis results that the flow rate, reduced to about fourteen kilogram per second (14 kg/s) from the original flow rate of sixteen point three kilogram per second (16.3 kg/s) did not show the guide tube jet.

  • An experiment was carried out to study the condensation heat transfer enhancement of horizontal circular cylinders with varying outside surface configurations. The refrigerant used is Freon-22 and the test condensing temperature is 34.1C. Pin-finned tube shows about 2.5-3.5 times higher overall heat transfer coefficient compared to that of smooth surface tube, thus has larger encomic benifit for condenser design. The condensation heat transfer coefficient was shown to increase as the fin-pitch of the pin-finned tube decreases for film Reynolds number larger than 100.

  • A unique process was developed to improve the mechanical properties of a circular tube. In this proposed process, a large amount of strain is applied to the wall of tube, leading to grain refinement in the material. In order to investigate characteristics of microstructural evolution such as the distribution of grain size and misorientation angle during the process, an EBSD OIM analysis was carried out. The analysis confirms that the proposed process can very effectively produce a circular tube with ultrafine-grains.

  • 본 연구에서는 카본시트튜브로 구속된 원형기둥에 반복 횡하중을 가하여 기둥의 휨내력을 평가하는 실험을 수행하였다. 중립축을 기준으로 압축 및 인장측 단면의 모멘트를 이용하여 공칭모멘트를 계산하는 등가응력블록계산법을 소개하였다. 또한 실험결과를 분석하여 횡 하중에 대한 거동을 예측할 수 있는 회귀식을 마련하여 실험결과와 비교하였다.

  • 본 논문은 냉장고용 증발기의 핀 형상을 변화시켜가면서 열전달 성능을 실험적으로 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 냉장고용 핀-튜브 증발기에 나선형 원형핀, 개별 평판핀 및 연속 평판핀을 적용하여 무착상 및 착상 열전달 성능과 제상성능을 측정하고 특성변화를 고찰하였다. 무착상조건에서 나선형 원형핀 증발기의 총괄열전달계수가 개별 평판핀 증발기에 비하여 22.3% 우수하고, 연속 평판핀 증발기에 비하여 40.2% 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 착상조건에서 나선형 원형핀 증발기의 총괄열전달계수가 개별 평판핀 증발기에 비하여 27.0% 우수하고, 연속 평판핀 증발기에 비하여 46.3% 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 나선형 원형핀 증발기의 제상량은 개별 평판핀 증발기에 비하여 3.2% 적고, 연속 평판핀 증발기에 비하여 9.4% 적었다.

열간금속 압출굽힘기를 이용한 금속곡관의 압출굽힘가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Extru-Bending Process Extrusion Bending Machine)

  • The bending process for the rectangular and circular curled tube can be developed by the hot metal extrusion machine with the multiple punches moving in the different velocity. The bending phenomenon has been known to be occurred by the different of velocity at the die exit. The difference of velocity at the die exit section can be obtained by the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container and by the cohesion of billet Inside the porthole die chamber. The bending phenomenon can be controlled by the two variables, the one of them is the difference of velocity at the die edit section by the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container The other is the difference by the different hole diameter The results of the experiment show that the rectangular curved tube can be formed by the extrusion process, that the curvature of the curved product can be controlled by the velocity of punch and the diameter of container hole, that the defects such as the distortion of section and the thickness change of the wall of tube and the folding and wrinkling of thin tube did not happen after the extra-bending processing by the extrusion bending machine.

경사진 원형관에서의 공냉응축에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Air-cooled Condensation in Slightly Inclined Circular Tube)

  • In this study, the experimental investigation of air-cooled condensation in slightly inclined circular tubes with and without fins has been conducted. In order to assess the effects of the essential parameters, variable air velocities and steam mass flow rates were given to the test section. The heat transfer performance of air-cooled condensation were dominantly affected by the air velocity, however, the increase of the steam mass flow rate gave relatively weaker effects to total heat transfer capability. And in the experimental cases with the finned tube, the total heat transfer rate of the finned tube was significantly larger than that of the flat tube. From those results, it can be confirmed that the most important parameter for air-cooled condensation heat transfer is the convective heat transfer characteristics of air. Therefore, for the well-designed long-term cooling passive safety system, the consideration of the optimal design of the fin geometry is needed, and the experimental and numerical validations of the heat transfer capability of the finned tube would be required.

A guide tube is extended from the reactor core to the top of the reactor chimney for easily un/loading a target under the reactor normal operation. But active coolant through the core can be quickly raised up to the top of the chimney through the guide tube by a jet flow. This paper describes an analytical analysis that is the study of the flow behavior through the guide tube under reactor normal operation and unloading the target. As results, it was conformed through the analysis results that the guide jet is suppressed under the top of the chimney after modifying the orifice diameter of 37.5 mm to 31 mm.
