For the purpose, 1,524 children who fit this study among children aged 5 through 7th year of the Korean Children's Panel were selected. The data were analyzed by using the hierarchical regression method and the Sobel test. The main findings are as follows. Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the longitudinal reciprocal relationship between young children's vocabulary ability and physical aggression in young children. Methods: Two waves of panel data(2013/2015) from the Panel Study of Korean Children were analyzed in this study by using an adapted version of Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. A total of 306 five-year-old and seven-year-old preschoolers, and their mothers participated in the study. Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling for multiple groups was conducted by using AMOS 24.0. Results: First, vocabulary ability and physical aggression showed stability over time. Second, young children's vocabulary ability(t) had a statistically significant effect on physical aggression(t+1). Conclusion/Implications: This study confirmed the interrelationships of young children's vocabulary ability and physical aggression by examining longitudinal data using the longitudinal analysis method. This study highlights the importance of developing interventions to support language development with aggressive children. The results of the present study can be used as a source in developing policies for aggressive children and their parents.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships of mothers exhibiting maternal overprotective behavior and their children's aggression, withdrawal and perceived competence. For data collecting, 339 children attending the fifth/sixth grade of elementary school in Kwangju were involved. The major findings were as follows: First, maternal overprotective behavior related to school learning showed a significant difference due to the children's sex. Furthermore, maternal overprotective behavior related to daily life and school learning showed a significant difference due to the children's grade. Second, maternal overprotective behavior related to daily life showed a significant difference due to the mother's education level. Finally, the result of multiple regression analysis on the effects of the mother's overprotective behavior to the children's aggression, withdrawal, and perceived competence indicated that maternal overprotective behavior related to daily life and school learning was the significant contributing factor. All in all, the variables accounted for 11% of the children's aggression, 11% of the children's withdrawal, and 6% of the children's perceived competence.

Two hundred and two(90 boys and 112 girls) 6th graders rated themselves on a questionnaire. Correlation analysis, and multiple regression were conducted using SPSS Window vers. 12. Alienation to mother, and overt and relational victimization by peers were positively related, and communication with mother was negatively related to children's proactive aggression. Alienation to mother, and overt victimization by peers were positively related, and communication with mother, support by teacher were negatively related to children's reactive aggression. Alienation to mother, and overt and relational victimization by peers were positively related, and communication with mother and support by teacher were negatively related to children's relational aggression. The factor with the greatest contribution to explaining the aggression of Korean-Chinese in Yanbin was the alienation to mother.
This study examined the relationships between children's perceptions of mothers' psychological control, and children's behavior problems(depression, anxiety, withdrawal, and aggression). In order to expand the study on the relationships, special attention was given to the possible moderator effects of children's sex and peer acceptance on the relationships. The subjects were 272 6th graders residing in Seoul. It was found that children's perceptions of mothers' psychological control was significantly related with the levels of children's depression, anxiety, withdrawal, and aggression. The results indicated that mothers' higher psychological control was related to higher levels of children's depression, anxiety, withdrawal, and aggression. No significant sex difference was found in the relationship between children's perceptions of mothers' psychological control and children's behavior problems although all of the correlations between mothers' psychological control and each of the behavior problem variables were somewhat higher among boys than among girls. Children's perceptions of peer acceptance were found to be a significant moderator of the relationship between mothers' psychological control and children's depression, and of the relationship between mothers' psychological control and children's aggression. These findings indicated that peer acceptance could function as a protecting factor for children who perceive their mothers to be psychologically controlling.
