Methods: This study employs a mathematical programming methodology called 'nonlinear integer programming (NLIP)' to solve the optimization problems and compare the quality of childcare service of optimal solutions with those of present operation scheme. Results: It is very successful in obtaining the optimal solutions for alternative capacities and they guarantee the substantial improvement in the quality of childcare service. Conclusion: Though more variables should be adapted for defining the quality of childcare service robustly, it is possible to conclude that childcare centers should modify their operation scheme to improve the quality of childcare service.

The students completed questionnaires assessing pre-service childcare teachers' teaching efficacy, social support, self-esteem, and satisfaction level for childcare practicum. Statistical methods for the data analysis were the SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 20.0. And the Maximum likelihood estimation method was used to model fit. Goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMR, RMSEA and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. Results: First, pre-service childcare teachers' social support, self-esteem and satisfaction level for childcare practicum were found to affect their teaching efficacy directly. Also pre-service childcare teachers' social support was found to affect their self-esteem and satisfaction level for childcare practicum directly. • This study aims to analyze what factors are associated with child care accreditation in Chungbuk province. This study examined three questions about which factors influence the accreditation of childcare centers: 1) if they passed the accreditation criteria, 2) the total score on the accreditation criteria, and 3) the domain scores for the six domains of environment, management, process, interaction and teaching, health and nutrition, and safety. The characteristics of 1,212 childcare centers, the independent variables, were commit management, type, specialized service, maximum capacity of children, registration ratio, target age groups of children, duration, and city size. The formal expert committee evaluated objective scores for 952 childcare centers. I derived the data for this study from the i-sarang Childcare Information Portal site (http://info.childcare. go.kr/). Frequency, descriptive statistics, binary logit model, and OLS model analysis were used to examine the accreditation and scores by factors of childcare centers. The findings of the present study are as follows. First, about 80% of the 1,212 childcare centers in Chungbuk province were accredited. Second, the accreditation of the child care center was affected by the specialized service, registration ratio, and duration. Finally, the total score of accredited childcare centers was associated with the maximum capacity of children, registration ratio, and duration. The factors of childcare centers influencing sub-area scores were different by environment, interaction and teaching, health and nutrition, and safety. The present study is important because it offers preliminary data identifying accreditation characteristics that can judge problems related to the quality of service of childcare centers and suggest childcare policy implications.

Second, there were statistically significant correlations between self-efficacy, occupational value, and major satisfaction of pre-service childcare teachers. Third, the self-efficacy and occupational value of pre-service childcare teachers had positive effects on the major satisfaction. Based on these study results, there should be more diverse research for the formation of proper self-efficacy and correct occupational value, so that students majoring in childcare could perceive the importance of major satisfaction and also perform their childcare jobs with high-quality.

The total number of individuals included in the analysis was 395 (286 childcare teachers and 109 kindergarten teachers) early childcare teachers in 2011. The collected data were analyzed by frequency statistic, cross-tabulation analysis and logistic regression. Results : The adjusted odds ratio showed a statistically effective association for job stress exposure. The results were as follows: education level, service environment, emotional labor, fatigue or posture led to pain for a high level of job stress. Additionally, for childcare teachers, the results showed that fatigue or posture led to pain when moving a heavy object frequently. • This study examines the preliminary license and approval facilitation standards for improvements in quality for childcare centers focusing on the number of children, building space standards, facilities and equipment, and childcare program. Data from 48 caese was collected from childcare centers nationwide in Korea through a questionnaire and building plan. The first step for starting care licensing is to work out the ages and numbers of children within four or five age ranges. The second step is to work out the number of children as small, medium, or large considering staff to child ratios and building size. The Nnext step is to make a choice about childcare service quality classification as minimum, fair, or good, considering space requirements per child for the building, the classroom and the outdoor playground. The next step is to make a choice of space organization relating to service programs, considering the sleeping and eating area, indoor play area, toilet & washing facilities, classroom layouts such as cluster type, double zone type, single zone type, and others. Also, each room and entrance, office, kitchen, storage, laundry, teacher's area, and chilldren's area, need to be checked for space requirements and performances. The last step is to arrange the childcare program with the building and site plan. In conclusion childcare service quality will get better by upgrading of license regulation especially in minimum space requirements per child, corresponding with an increase in GNP and housing area per person. This is needed for childcare licensing in order to determine the quality level of childcare service.
