자녀의 초등학교 입학 전후 어머니의 양육불안에 미치는 영향요인 분석 (An Analysis of the Influential Factors on Mother's Child-rearing Anxiety Before and After Their Children's Entrance into Elementary School)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to find the tendencies and differences of mother's child-rearing anxiety before and after their children enter into elementary school, to analyze the factors influencing child-rearing anxiety at each time, and thereby to seek a support plan at the time of transition. Methods: The subjects of this study were 181 mothers who participated in two surveys which were conducted before and after their child entered into elementary school. Results: Firstly, mother's child-rearing anxiety before and after their children's entrance into elementary school was at a middle level, but increased significantly when they experienced their children's transition to elementary school. Secondly, mother's child-rearing anxiety, before their children's entrance into elementary school, was influenced by private education, the collection of educational information, cognitive ability, whether or not to develop a work status change plan, and birth order sequentially. Thirdly, child-rearing anxiety after their children's entrance into elementary school was significantly influenced by child-rearing anxiety before their children's entrance into elementary school and the mother's employment. Conclusion/Implications: This study is meaningful in the point that it suggested the necessity for the cooperation between multiple systems, such as systematic and stepwise parenting education, the importance of offering information to educational institutions and local governments, and for work- family support policy to prioritize children in order to support children's successful transition into elementary school.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships between adolescent's behavioral inhibition and social anxiety focused on the moderating effects of perceived parental rearing behaviors. Subjects were 749 7th through 9th grade students attending schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Major findings were that (1) boys' and girls' behavioral inhibition was an important factor predicting social anxiety; and (2) perceived parental rearing behaviors played the role of moderating variables on the influence of behavioral inhibition of boys' and girls' social anxiety. In the boys' group, perceived intrusion had a moderating effect on the relationships between behavioral inhibition and social anxiety; in the girls' group, perceived warmth and perceived granting of autonomy acted as moderating variables on social anxiety.

어머니의 성인기 애착과 애정적 양육행동이 아동의 사회적 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Maternal Adult Attachment and Affectionate Child-rearing Behavior on a Child′s Social Competence)

  • The purpose of this research is to delineate the effects of the material adult attachment and affectionate child-rearing behavior on the social competence of a child. The levels of mother's education and income, as well as the maternal adult attachment and affectionate child-rearing behavior have been chosen for the analysis. The sample subjects selected for the research include 287 pairs of fifth/sixth grade students, their mothers, and eight of the classroom teachers, all from Kwangiu city. The major findings are as follows: First, in measuring the social competence score of a child and the maternal adult attachment, affectionate child-rearing behavior, the scores, in general, tend to be above the mean scores. Second, looking at the correlation between the mother's education/income level and affectionate child-rearing and the child's social competence level, the affectionate child-rearing and the social competence factors only show difference correlating to the mother's education, high school or higher, as opposed to the level of junior high and lower, the difference is significant. Third, the results of multiple regression analysis on the effects of the variables to the child's social competence indicates that affectionate child-rearing is the most significant contributing factor, followed by the mother's education, the close attachment factor, income, and the anxiety attachment factor, in that order All in all, the variables account for 18% of the child's social competence score.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between mother's self-reported adult attachment, anxiety, depression, and parenting stress and the rearing of preschoolers. Based on a sample of 96 young mothers, this study demonstrated the association between a mother's self-report of attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety, anxiety, depression, and parenting stress. And also, the result showed that the greatest portion of attachment classification answered by mothers was secure attachment, and the portion of preoccupied and dismissing attachment was the same. It is also shown that mother's anxiety was different depending on adult attachment classifications.

품행장애 청소년에서의 우울, 불안 증상과 부모양육특성 (RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEPRESSION/ANXIETY AND PARENTAL REARING PATTERNS IN ADOLESCENTS WITH CONDUCT DISORDER)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 품행장애를 보이는 청소년에서 우울및 불안의 정도를 알아보고 또한 자신의 부모가 보이는 자녀 양육 방식에 대해 그들이 어떠한 지각을 하고 있는가를 살펴봄으로써, 품행장애 환아들에서 흔히 동반되는 우울, 불안 증상과 부모양육방식 사이에는 어떤 상호관련이 있으며 이는 또한 품행장애의 임상경과와 어떤 관련이 있는지를 알아보는데 있다. 이러한 목적하에 저자들은 DSM-Ⅳ의 진단기준에 부합되는 품행장애 입원환아 30명과 정상대조군으로 30명의 중학생을 선정하였으며, 이들에게 소아우울척도(CDI), 소아 상태-특성 불안척도(STAI), 부모-자녀 결합형태 검사(PBI)를 시행한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 품행장애 환아들은 정상대조군에 비해 증상면에서 상태불안(state anxiety)이 높았으나 우울과 특성불안(trait anxiety)은 의미있는 차이를 보여주지 않았다. 2) 품행장애 환아들은 부모의 양육태도에 있어서 아버지와 어머니 모두에 대해 돌봄이 적고 과보호가 많다는 부정적인 인식을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 3) 어머니의 돌봄은 우울 및 품행문제의 심각도와 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 4) 어머니의 과보호는 특성불안과 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 품행장애 환아에 있어 아버지 양육태도의 특성은 그다지 의미있는 결과를 보여주지 않아 아버지보다는 어머니의 부정적인 양육 방식이 품행장애 소아청소년의 우울, 불안 및 품행문제의 심각도등의 임상경과와 보다 밀접한 관련성을 갖는 것으로 보인다.

Infant-rearing experiences of parents during the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea: a mixed-methods approach

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the infant-rearing experiences of parents during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and provide foundational data for the development of infant-rearing support programs during pandemic situations. Methods: Convergent mixed methods were used to better understand the research outcomes by converging both quantitative and qualitative data. A total of 149 parents with infant-rearing experiences during the pandemic responded to a self-report survey, and 10 parents participated in the interviews. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi's method, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, the Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression. Results: Analysis of qualitative data yielded the following three categories: five theme clusters, ten themes, and thirty-nine subthemes. The factors influencing infant-rearing behavior were nuclear family (β=.34, p<.001) and rearing stress (β=-.39, p<.001). The explanatory power of the regression equation was 26.6%. Conclusion: Infectious disease disasters, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, can quickly alter infant-rearing conditions, causing heightened parental anxiety. This may affect infant-rearing behaviors and hinder healthy infant development. Future research should develop a comprehensive tool to measure holistic health-related parenting behaviors across the different stages of child development. Additionally, pediatric nurse practitioners can play an active role in educating parents, supporting parenting, and promoting healthy infant development in their communities, making pediatric nurse practitioners a highly relevant and necessary healthcare profession during infectious disease disasters. Thus, there is a need to improve institutions and build infrastructure at the national level to support them.

아동의 사회적 능력에 영향을 미치는 어머니 관련 변인에 관한 연구 (Maternal Variables that Influence Children's Social Competence)

  • This research delineated variables of maternal influences on children's social competence. The sample consisted of 287 pairs of 5th/6th grade students, their mothers, and 8 classroom teachers in Gwangju City. Analysis included factors of mother's adult attachment, marriage adjustment, affection in child-rearing, level of education and income. The result of multiple regression analysis indicated that affectionate child-rearing is the most significant factor contributing to child's social competence, followed by mother's education, close attachment, income, and anxiety attachment, in that order. These maternal variables accounted for 18% of the child's social competence.

아버지가 지각한 부부갈등이 유아의 문제행동에 미치는 영향: 아버지 양육행동의 매개효과 (The Effect of Marital Conflicts Perceived by Fathers on Preschoolers' Behavior Problems: Mediating Effect of Paternal Child Rearing Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of marital conflicts perceived by fathers on preschoolers' behavior problems, and to investigate the mediating effect of paternal child rearing behavior. This study used survey data on 4 year-old infants which was conducted in 2012(5th year) by KICCE. Correlation analysis and structural equation were conducted using SPSS 23 and AMOS 23 for the data analysis, and the results of this study are as follows. First, marital conflicts perceived by fathers and preschoolers behavior problems showed a positive correlation, and they especially showed a greater positive correlation with offensive behavior, anxiety/depression, and other problems. On the other hand, it was identified that paternal child rearing behavior has a negative correlation with marital conflict and preschoolers' behavior problems when paternal child rearing behavior is compassionate and dominant. Secondly, it was identified that warm parenting behavior of fathers mediates the effect of marital conflicts on preschoolers' behavior problems. However, it was verified that the mediating effect of controlling parenting behavior is not significant. On the other hand, it was identified that the mediating effect of warm parenting behavior of fathers has a greater effect on internalized problems than external problems.

아동의 신체화 증상 경험과 관련 부모 및 아동 변인 (Children's Somatic Symptoms and Related Parent and Child Variables)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of children's somatic symptoms and the relationships among parent and child variables such as parenting attitude, children's anxiety, emotional expressiveness and somatic symptoms. The subjects were 523 6th grade students in four elementary schools located in Seoul, Busan and Daejeon. All subjects were tested with the Korean version of Children's Somatization Inventory (K-CSI), Parental Rearing Attitude Inventory, State-Trait Anxiety for Children (STAIC), and The Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by the frequency and percentage of somatic symptoms the children had experienced during the last 2 weeks; Pearson's correlation and multiple regression were used for the selected data of 10 somatic symptoms which were experienced by over 10% of the children. The results are summarized as follows: First, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, and memory failure, in that order, were experienced in over 20% of the children. Second, children's somatic symptoms had significant relations with mothers' and fathers' loving-denial attitudes and their anxiety and emotional expressiveness. Third, children's somatic symptoms were influenced by their anxiety and emotional expressiveness, but not by parenting attitude.

COVID-19 펜데믹 상황에서 영유아를 둔 어머니의 코비드감염 불안, 분리개별화 문제가 양육스타일에 미치는 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Parenting Style by Infection Anxiety and Separation Individiaulization Problems in Mothers with Infants and Toddlers in the COVID-19 Pandemic Situation)

  • 본 연구는 COVID-19 펜데믹 상황에서 영유아를 둔 어머니들을 대상으로 코비드 감염불안, 분리개별화가 어머니의 양육스타일에 미치는 영향요인에 대해 알아보고 어머니들의 양육에 도움이 되기 위한 자료를 제공하고자 실시한 조사연구이다. 양육스타일인 온정적 양육과 통제적 양육에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 회귀계수의 유의성을 검증한 결과, 분리개별화가 온정적 양육에 유의한 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다(β=-.40, p<.001). 그리고 코비드감염 불안은 통제적 양육에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치고(β=.21, p=.002), 분리개별화는 통제적 양육에 유의한 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다(β=-.26, p<.001). 즉 분리개별화 문제가 있으면 온정적 양육은 낮고, 코비드감염 불안이 높을수록 통제적 양육은 높으며, 분리개별화 문제가 있으면 통제적 양육도 낮은 것으로 판단할 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 COVID-19 펜데믹 상황과 같은 위기에서 영유아를 양육하는 어머니의 역할이 매우 중요하고, 어머니가 주체가 되어 자녀를 지도하고 양육하는 것이 아동의 올바른 성장에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 것이라 사료된다.
