  • The checking stresses in the Chinese codes for reinforced concrete (RC) or prestressed concrete (PC) bridges are aimed for the thin-web beam, which cannot reflect the actual behavior of the modern structures. The incompleteness of the checking stresses could give rise to the deficiency in the design and calculation, and unable to reveal the reason of some common cracks in the structure. In this paper, the complete stress checklist for RC or PC girder bridges are listed, as well as the corresponding crack shapes. The expression of the complete checking stresses is proposed in details. Spatial Grid Model can reflect all the concerned stresses in the structure. Through the comparison of the calculation results from the spatial grid model and the solid model, it is seen that the spatial grid model can reflect load effects such as shear lag effect, thin-wall effect and local effect. The stresses obtained from the spatial grid model could help engineers to have a good understanding of the structural behavior. Meanwhile, the stress checklist provides the information for analyzing and solving the deficiency in the structure.

  • We study Interpreted Systems, ATL, and ATEL to capture the notion of time, knowledge, and strategy which are important in the analysis of multi-agent systems and propose strategic constraints based on subgame perfect Nash equilibrium of game theory as one of the solutions for the issues of ATEL which an agent can access the current state of the whole system when making up his strategy even when he should be uncertain about the state, and no explicit representation of actions in ATEL models makes some natural situations harder to model. Also, we present strategic constraints-based Interpreted Systems for model checking of multi-agent systems.

  • E-mail service has been a general method for communication as internet is widely used instead of post mails. Many companies have invested in e-mail advertisement as e-mail service is spread. E-mail advertisement has an advantage that it can consider personal characters. A lot of e-mail users have been given e-mails that they did not want to receive because their e-mail addresses were opened out to companies on internet. Therefore, they need junk mail checking systems and several e-mail service providers have supported junk mail filters. However, the junk mail filters can check the junk mail with constraint because they don't check the junk degree of mails by the contents of e-mail. This paper suggests a content-based junk mail checking model using fuzzy relational products. The process of the junk mail checking model using fuzzy relational products is as following: (1) analyzes semantic relation between junk words-base and e-mails, (2) checks the junk degree of the e-mail using the semantic relation, (3) checks the mails with SVJ(Standard Value of Junk) if those are junk mail or non-junk mail. The efficiency of the proposed technique is proved by comparing the junk degree of the e-mail and the number of junk mails that was checked by e-mail users and checked by the proposed junk mail checking model.

  • In case of an embedded system having an LCD panel with touch-screen capability, various figures such as rectangles, pentagons, circles, and arrows are frequently used for the delivery of user-input commands. In such a case, it is necessary to have an algorithm that can recognize whether a touched location is within a figure on which a specific user-input command is assigned. Such algorithms, however, impose a considerable amount of overhead for embedded systems with restricted amount of computing resources. This paper first describes a method for initializing and driving a touch-screen LCD and a coordinate-calibration method that converts touch-screen coordinates into LCD panel coordinates. Then it introduces methods that can be used for recognizing touched areas of rectangles, many-sided figures like pentagons, and circles; they are a range checking method for rectangles, a crossing number checking method for many-sided figures, a distance measurement method for circles, and a color comparison method that can be applied to all figures. In order to evaluate the performance of these methods, we implement two-dimensional graphics functions for drawing figures like triangles, rectangles, circles, and images. Then, we draw such figures and measures times spent for the touched-area recognition of these figures. Measurements show that the range checking is the most suitable method for rectangles, the distance measurement for circles, and the color comparison for many-sided figures and images.

  • For checking the exact acupuncture points of Governor Vessel(GV) at lumbar regions, five kinds of method were used to 100 patients who have treated in outpatient in our hospital. They were attached distinguishable stainless steel by the methods. And those were compared with X-ray measuring. As a results, the best method to check Yoyang-gwan(GV3, Ya~oyanggua~n) was the way of using both iliac crests at lateral lying position.

  • In this study, the usefulness of the RFID technology, which has been recommended to be used in libraries, is reviewed by its technical aspect and the successful methods derived from RFID-applied libraries is presented to other libraries. More precisely, it is advised that checking out or returning books and materials, checking a collection of books, identifying misplaced materials, and theft-proofing materials, which have been previously performed using bar codes or the magnetic tapes, should be automated through RFID additionally the method to apply the technology to library's facilities or devices is proposed.

  • For performance and stability of a synchronized system, we need an efficient Clock Tree Synthesis(CTS) methodology to design clock distribution networks. In a system-on-a-chip(SOC) design environment, CTS effectively distributes clock signals from clock sources to synchronized points on layout design. In this paper, we suggest the pre-layout analysis of the clock network including gated clock, multiple clock, and test mode CTS optimization. This analysis can help to avoid design failure with potential CTS problems from logic designers and supply layout constraints so as to get an optimal clock distribution network. Our new design flow including pre-layout CTS analysis and structural violation checking also contributes to reduce design time significantly.
