This paper presents a clock and data recovery(CDR) using a quarter-rate technique. The proposed CDR helps reduce the VCO frequency and is thus advantageous for high speed application. It can achieve a low jitter operation and extend the pull-in range without a reference clock. The CDR consists of a quarter-rate bang-bang type phase detector(PD) quarter-rate frequency detector(QRFD), two charge pumps circuits(CPs), low pass filter(LPF) and a ring voltage controlled oscillator(VCO). The Proposed CDR has been fabricated in a standard $0.18{\mu}m$ 1P6M CMOS technology. It occupies an active area $1{\times}1mm^2$ and consumes 98 mW from a single 1.8 V supply.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the image quality, diagnostic efficacy, and radiation dose associated with the use of a cadmium telluride (CdTe) detector, compared to charge-coupled device (CCD) and complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) detectors. Materials and Methods: Lateral cephalographs of a phantom (type 1) composed of synthetic polymer filled with water and another phantom (type 2) composed of human skull macerated with polymer coating were obtained with CdTe, CCD, and CMOS detectors. Dosimeters placed on the type 2 phantom were used to measure radiation. Noise levels from each image were also measured. McNamara cephalometric analysis was conducted, the dentoskeletal configurations were assessed, and a subjective evaluation of image quality was conducted. Parametric data were compared via 1-way analysis of variance with the Tukey post-hoc test, with a significance level of 5%. Subjective image quality and dentoskeletal configuration were described qualitatively. Results: A statistically significant difference was found among the images obtained with the 3 detectors(P<0.05), with the lowest noise level observed among the images obtained with the CdTe detector and a higher subjective preference demonstrated for those images. For the cephalometric analyses, no significant difference (P>0.05) was observed, and perfect agreement was seen with regard to the classifications obtained from the images acquired using the 3 detectors. The radiation dose associated with the CMOS detector was higher than the doses associated with the CCD (P<0.05) and CdTe detectors(P<0.05). Conclusion: Considering the evaluated parameters, the CdTe detector is recommended for use in clinical practice.

In this paper, we proposed a charge pump (CP) circuit that has a wide operating range while reducing the current mismatch for the PLL that generates the main clock of the CMOS X-Ray detector. The operating range and current mismatch of the CP circuit are determined by the characteristics of the current source circuit for the CP circuit. The proposed CP circuit is implemented with a wide operating current mirror bias circuit to secure a wide operating range and a cascode structure with a large output resistance to reduce current mismatch. The proposed wide operating range cascode CP circuit was fabricated as a chip using a 350nm CMOS process, and current matching characteristics were measured using a source measurement unit. At this time, the power supply voltage was 3.3 V and the CP circuit current ICP = 100 ㎂. The operating range of the proposed CP circuit is △VO_Swing=2.7V, and the maximum current mismatch is 5.15 % and the maximum current deviation is 2.64 %. The proposed CP circuit has low current mismatch characteristics and can cope with a wide frequency range, so it can be applied to systems requiring various clock speed.

This paper reports an Integer-N phase locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer which was implemented in a 250nm standard digital CMOS process for a UHF RFID wireless communication system. The main blocks of PLL have been designed including voltage controlled oscillator, phase frequency detector, and charge pump. The LC VCO has been used for a better noise property and low-power design. The source and drain juntions of PMOS transistors are used as the varactor diodes. The ADF4111 of Analog Device has been used for the external pre-scaler and N-divider to divide VCO frequency and a third order RC filter is designed for the loop filter. The measured results show that the RF output power is -13dBm with 50$\Omega$ load, the phase noise is -91.33dBc/Hz at 100KHz offset frequency, and the maximum lock-in time is less than 600us from 930MHz to 970MHz.

This paper is researched that electric characteristic of Digital x-ray radiography technique with changing composition ratio of Iodine. Dopant material, Iodine is evaporated with amorphous selenium. Thorugh the old papers say, doponted Iodine will be down the created trap level because of Arsenic dopant material in amorphous selenium. Arsenic material of Composition ratio in amorphous selenium is fixed with 0.3% and test sample is deposited composition of 30, 100, 300, 500, 700ppm with thermal evaporate system. Experimental measurement is performed by dark current and x-ray sensitivity in amorphous selenium based radition detector sensor. Fabricated test sample thickness is $30{\mu}m$ and injected voltage is $3{\mu}m$,$6{\mu}m$,$9{\mu}m$ to both electrode. Experimental results showed that the net charge of composition rate of 30ppm is 398.88 pc/mR/$cm^2$ very high. And increase of the Iodine composition ratio is tendency to the decrease of net charge. Doping changing composition of Iodine in amorphous selenium detector offered to basical information of amorphous selenium material.

This paper presents an Integer-N phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer using a novel prescaler based on a charge pump and clock triggering circuit. A quadrature VCO has been designed for the 900MHz UHF RFID application. In this circuit, a voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO), a novel Prescaler, phase frequency detector(PFD), charge pump(CP), and analog lock detector(ALD) have been integrated with 0.35-${\mu}m$CMOS process. The integer divider has been developed with a verilog-HDL module, and the PLL mixed mode simulation has been performed with Spectre-Verilog co-simulator. The sweep range of VCO is designed from 828 to 960 MHz and the VCO generates four phase quadrature signals. The simulation results show that the phase noise of VCO is -102dBc/Hz at 100 KHz offset frequency, and the maximum lock-in time is about 4us with 32MHz step change (from 896 to 928 MHz).
The NASA Antarctica balloon experiment CREAM has successfully collected the data of energetic cosmic rays during six flights in past years. It recently observed the unexpected discrete hardening in energy spectra of comic rays. However high-statistics data of energetic cosmic rays are required for the further investigation of the unexpected hardening in comic-ray energy spectra. The International Space Station (ISS) is an ideal platform for the CREAM experiment to investigate the unexpected hardening and explore the fundamental issues like the acceleration mechanism and the origin of energetic cosmic rays because of the high duty cycle of the experiment in the ISS platform. We will present the design of the ISS-CREAM experiment, and the development and fabrication status of the detector components including the 4-layer silicon charge detector which will measure the charge constitution of cosmic rays with unprecedented accuracy.
Self-powered neutron detector (SPND) is a sensor to monitor a neutron flux proportional to a reactor power of the nuclear power plants. Since an SPND is usually installed in the reactor core and does not require additional outside power, it generates electrons itself from interaction between neutrons and a neutron-sensitive material called an emitter, such as rhodium and vanadium. This paper presents the simulations of the depletion sensitivity evaluations based on MCNP models of rhodium and vanadium SPNDs and light water reactor fuel assembly. The evaluations include the detail geometries of the detectors and fuel assembly, and the modeling of rhodium and vanadium emitter depletion using MCNP and ORIGEN-S codes, and the realistic energy spectrum of beta rays using BETA-S code. The results of the simulations show that the lifetime of an SPND can be prolonged by using vanadium SPND than rhodium SPND. Also, the methods presented here can be used to analyze a life-time of those SPNDs using various emitter materials.
Electrostatic capacitance measurement method in a fine hose was proposed, in which two ring-type electrodes were disposed on the hose in the direction of fluid flow instead of the conventional face-to-face electrodes. With the proposed electrode structure, we realized a Ringer's solution exhaustion detector for an IV(invasive vein) injection set. On a 4 mm-diameter hose of IV set, we disposed two ring-type electrodes of 10 mm width at a distance of 5 mm each other and obtained 0.72 pF and 2.51 pF for air and 10 % dextrose Ringer's solution in the hose, respectively. The capacitance between the two electrodes varied with the hose-wraparound coverage of electrode as well as the width of electrode and the distance between the electrodes. For hose-wraparound electrode coverage of 75 %, the capacitance varied from 0.62 pF to 1.98 pF with the Ringer's solution level between the two electrodes. A charge amplifier converted the capacitance. variation into electric signal and a comparator was used to detect whether Ringer's solution was exhausted or not. The result was delivered to a host using a RF transmitter with 320 MHz carrier frequency.
This is a short review article of our recent studies on the ATP-induced, allosteric conformational transition of the chaperonin GroEL complex by solution X-ray scattering. We used synchrotron X-ray scattering with a two-dimensional, charge-coupled, device-based X-ray detector to study (1) the specificity of the chaperonin GroEL for its ligand that induced the allosteric transition, and (2) the identification of the allosteric transition of GroEL in its complicated kinetics induced by ATP. Due to the dramatically increased sensitivity of the X-ray scattering technique based on the use of the two dimensional X-ray detector and synchrotron radiation, different allosteric conformational states of GroEL populated under different conditions were clearly distinguished from each other. It was concluded that solution X-ray scattering is an extremely powerful tool for investigating the equilibrium and kinetics of cooperative conformational transitions of oligomeric protein complex, especially when combined with other spectroscopic techniques such as fluorescence spectroscopy.
