Characteristic Polynomials of 90/150 CA <10 ⋯ 0> (90/150 CA <10 ⋯ 0>의 특성다항식)

  • 90/150 CA which are used as key generators of the cipher system have more randomness than LFSRs, but synthesis methods of 90/150 CA are difficult. Therefore, 90/150 CA synthesis methods have been studied by many researchers. In order to synthesize a suitable CA, the analysis of the characteristic polynomial of 90/150 CA should be preceded. In general, the characteristic of polynomial ${\Delta}_n$ of n cell 90/150 CA is obtained by using ${\Delta}_{n-1}$ and ${\Delta}_{n-2}$. Choi et al. analyzed $H_{2^n}(x)$ and $H_{2^n-1}(x)$, where $H_k(x)$ is the characteristic polynomial of k cell 90/150 CA with state transition rule <$10{\cdots}0$>. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to obtain $H_n(x)$ from $H_{n-1}(x)$ and an efficient algorithm to obtain $H_{2^n+i}(x)$ and $H_{2^n-i}(x)$ ($1{\leq}i{\leq}2^{n-1}$) from $H_{2^n}(x)$ by using this method.

  • paper presents the results of a three-dimensional study of the natural vibration of laminated composite rectangular plates with various combinations of clamped and free boundaries. The Ritz method was used to obtain the stationary values of the associated Lagrangian, with displacements approximated using mathematicaly complete, characteristic orthogonal polynomials. The correctness of the three-dimensional model was established through a convergence study of the non-dimensional frequencies, followed by a comparison of the analytical findings in the existing literature. The wide scope of additional three-dimensional frequency results explains the influence of a number of geometrical and material parameters for angle-ply and cross-ply laminated plates, namely aspect ratio (${\mathcal{a/b}}$), thickness ratio (${\mathcal{a/h}}$), orthotropy of material, number of plies (${\mathcal{N}}$), fiber orientation angle (${\theta}$), and stacking sequence.

  • As the KOMPSAT-1 satellite can roll tilt up to $\pm$45$^{\circ}$, we have analyzed some EOC images taken at different tilt angles fur this study. The required ground coordinates for bundle adjustment and geometric accuracy, are read from the digital map produced by the National Geography Institution, at a scale of 1:5, 000. These are the steps taken for the tilting angle of KOMPSAT-1 satellite to be present in the evaluation of the accuracy of the geometric of each different stereo image data: Firstly, as the tilting angle is different in each image, the satellite dynamic characteristic must be determined by the sensor modeling. Then the best sensor modeling equation is determined. The result of this research, the difference between the RMSE values of individual stereo images is due more the quality of image and ground coordinates than to the tilt angle. The bundle adjustment using three KOMPSAT-1 stereo pairs, first degree of polynomials for modeling the satellite position were sufficient.

Size-dependent damped vibration and buckling analyses of bidirectional functionally graded solid circular nano-plate with arbitrary thickness variation

  • For the first time, nonlocal damped vibration and buckling analyses of arbitrary tapered bidirectional functionally graded solid circular nano-plate (BDFGSCNP) are presented by employing modified spectral Ritz method. The energy method based on Love-Kirchhoff plate theory assumptions is applied to derive neutral equilibrium equation. The Eringen's nonlocal continuum theory is taken into account to capture small-scale effects. The characteristic equations and corresponding first mode shapes are calculated by using a novel modified basis in spectral Ritz method. The modified basis is in terms of orthogonal shifted Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind to avoid employing adhesive functions in the spectral Ritz method. The fast convergence and compatibility with various conditions are advantages of the modified spectral Ritz method. A more accurate multivariable function is used to model two-directional variations of elasticity modulus and mass density. The effects of nanoscale, in-plane pre-load, distributed dashpot, arbitrary tapering, pinned and clamped boundary conditions on natural frequencies and buckling loads are investigated. Observing an excellent agreement between results of current work and outcomes of previously published works in literature, indicates the results' accuracy in current work.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity and let R[x] be the collection of polynomials with coefficients in R. There are a lot of multiplications in R[x] such that together with the usual addition, R[x] becomes a ring that contains R as a subring. These multiplications are from a class of functions ${\lambda}$ from ${\mathbb{N}}_0$ to ${\mathbb{N}}$. The trivial case when ${\lambda}(i)=1$ for all i gives the usual polynomial ring. Among nontrivial cases, there is an important one, namely, the case when ${\lambda}(i)=i!$ for all i. For this case, it gives the well-known Hurwitz polynomial ring $R_H[x]$. In this paper, we completely determine the Krull dimension of $R_H[x]$ when R is a $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domain. Let R be a $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domain. We show that dim $R_H[x]={\dim}\;R+1$ if R has characteristic zero and dim $R_H[x]={\dim}\;R$ otherwise.

  • The seismic vulnerability analysis of multi-span bridges can be based on the response of the piers, provided that deck, bearings and foundations remain elastic. The lateral response of an RC bridge pier can be affected by different mechanisms (i.e., flexure, shear, lap-splice or buckling of the longitudinal reinforcement bars, second order effects). In the literature, simplified formulations are available for mechanisms different from the flexure. On the other hand, the flexural response is usually calculated with a numerically-based Moment-Curvature diagram of the base section and equivalent plastic hinge length. The goal of this paper is to propose a simplified analytical solution to obtain the Moment-Curvature relationship for hollow circular RC sections. This based on calibrated polynomials, fitted against a database comprising 720 numerical Moment-Curvature analyses. The section capacity curve is defined through the position of 6 characteristic points and they are based on four input parameters: void ratio of the hollow section, axial force ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, transversal reinforcement ratio. A case study RC bridge pier is assessed with the proposed solution and the results are compared to a refined numerical FEM analysis, showing good match.

  • Cellular Automata(CA) has been used as modeling and computing paradigm for a long time. And CA has been used to model many physical systems. While studying the models of such systems, it is seen that as the complexity of the physical system increase, the CA based model becomes very complex and becomes to difficult to track analytically. Also such models fail to recognize the presence of inherent hierarchical nature of a physical system. In this paper we give the characterization of Hierarchical Cellular Automata(HCA). Especially we analyze transition rules, characteristic polynomials and cyclic structures of HCA.

Investigation of a novel on-site U concentration analysis method for UO2 pellets using gamma spectroscopy

  • As the IAEA has applied integrated safeguards and a state level approach to member states, the importance of national inspection has increased. However, the requirements for national inspection for some member states are different from the IAEA safeguards. In particular, the national inspection for the ROK requires on-site U concentration analysis due to a domestic notification. This research proposes an on-site U concentration analysis (OUCA) method for UO2 pellets using gamma spectroscopy to satisfy the domestic notification requirement. The OUCA method calculates the U concentration of UO2 pellets using the measured net X-ray counts and declared 235U enrichment. This research demonstrates the feasibility of the OUCA method using both MCNP simulation and experiment. It simulated and measured the net X-ray counts of different UO2 pellets with different U concentrations and 235U enrichments. The simulated and measured net X-ray counts were fitted to polynomials as a function of U concentration and 235U enrichment. The goodness-of-fit results of both simulation and experiment demonstrated the feasibility of the OUCA method.

  • Self-reciprocal polynomials are important because it is possible to specify only half of the coefficients. The special case of the self-reciprocal polynomial, the maximum weight polynomial, is particularly important. In this paper, we analyze even cell 90/150 cellular automata with linear rule blocks of the form < $a_1,{\cdots},a_n,d_1,d_2,b_n,{\cdots},b_1$ >. Also we show that there is no 90/150 CA of the form < $U_n{\mid}R_2{\mid}U^*_n$ > or < $\bar{U_n}{\mid}R_2{\mid}\bar{U^*_n}$ > whose characteristic polynomial is $f_{2n+2}(x)=x^{2n+2}+{\cdots}+x+1$ where $R_2$ =< $d_1,d_2$ > and $U_n$ =< $0,{\cdots},0$ >, and $\bar{U_n}$ =< $1,{\cdots},1$ >.

Algorithm for The Relative Phase Shifts between PN Sequences Generated by 90/150 Cellular Automata (90/150 셀룰라 오토마타에 의해 생성되는 PN 수열들 사이의 상대적 위상이동차에 대한 알고리즘)

  • Every cell position of a maximum-length 90/150 cellular automata(CA) generates the same pseudo-noise(PN) sequence corresponding to the characteristic polynomial of the CA with a phase shift. Unlike LFSRs, the phase shift is generally different between stages of a CA. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to compute relative phase shifts between stage of a CA. Our algorithm does not need Shank's algorithm to compute relative phase shifts and does not need any previous phase shifts to compute a phase shift. Moreover it is done in time $O(2^n)$.
