  • Modern clothing is approached in the level of art, and it becomes the means of expressing individuality in modern society uniformed by the development of information society. In this modern society, modern men need the recovery of humanity and expectations of handcrafted skills for the succession of tradition culture. Prior to expressing individuality, we should examine our traditional culture and combine it with western culture. Quit started to be used for practical purpose such as life items, but it is expanded to the fields of art. Used in dress and its ornaments design, quilt is often applied to the addition of aesthetic factors or cubic material feelings by transforming its warming effect. Hereby, this study has a purpose to create high value added modern dross and its ornaments design by expressing the modern clothing is approached in the level of art, and it becomes the means of expressing individuality roe-dimensional characteristics of quilt, and applying the color combination and the surface of butterfly wings to dress and its ornaments design. The following are the results of this study. 1. The concept of quilt started for practical purposes, but it is expanded to decoration in modern times, and it is confirmed that quilt can be variously applied to handcrafted modern design. 2. Quilt removes the plane character of textile and it riches the three-dimensional material of dress and its ornaments. Applying these characteristics, the expression of transparent wings were possible with 3 transparent layers of textile. 3. The spledid color of butterfly wings are expressed by coloring oganza and felt, and the various colors of felt showed rich color gradation. 4. The form and pattern of butterfly wings are applied as modeling form and line, and the transformation. repetition and expansion of unit forms determined the form of quilting lines. By designing the characteristics of back wings for the composition line of clothing, the form characteristics of a motif could be emphasized. 5. By using felt, oganza, Damdam yarn and ostritch feathers in expressing butterfly wings, the warm material of Linbun is felt, and the tip hair of wings are expressed by croche techniques using Damdam yarn.

  • In the virtual space with the interactive 3D contents, the degree of mental satisfaction is determined by how fully it reflect the real world. There are a few factors for getting the high completeness of virtual space. The first is the modeling technique with high-polygons and high-resolution textures which can heighten an visual effect. The second is the functionality. It is about how realistic represents dynamic actions between the virtual space and the user or the system. Although the studies on the techniques for animating and controlling the virtual characters have been continued, there are problems such that the long production time, the high cost, and the animation without expected behaviors. This paper suggest a method of behavior control of animation by designing the optimized skeleton which produces the movement of character and applying the procedural technique using physical law and mathematical analysis. The proposed method is free from the constraint on one-to-one correspondence rules, and reduce the production time by controlling the simple parameters, and to increase the degree of visual satisfaction.

  • Insertion loss is used as the character to express the efficiency of EMI filter. In this paper, we studied the better method that can measure the insertion loss of EMI filter exactly than the original method. For the achievement of this, the method measuring both common mode(CM) and differential mode(DM) insertion loss with arbitrary input/output impedance is accomplished using a 4-ports S-parameters system for consideration of unbalanced factor. Using this method, when input/output used in specific system is known, CM/DM insertion loss of EMI filter inserted in the system can be calculated. Finally, we applied 4-ports modeling method to 'X/Y capacitor part' and suggested the algorithm for selecting suitable the value of Y-capacitor using mixed mode S-parameters and mixed mode chain S-parameters.

  • Owing to the improvement in CPU processing speed of Phones (hardware of smartphone), 3D engines loading, and expansion of the usable capacity, next-generation smartphone game markets are rising briskly. Therefore, in creating 3D game characters, realistic and free-form animations in a small screen of a smartphone are becoming important. Through this paper, as a method of creating characters and operating for game characters to cause user's feeling, with NURBS data of MAYA, We completed a face in turns of eyes, a nose, and a mouth, and with Polygon Cube tool, modeled hands and feet. After dividing a cube into half and modeling it, through mirror copying We completed the whole body and modeled the low-polygon. Then to model realistic and free-form characters, We completed each detail with ZBrush and applied Divide level up to 4. Though they might look rough and exaggerated, We tried to express stuck-out parts and fallen-in parts effectively and smoothly with Smooth brush effect, map and design the low-polygon 3D characters.

  • We present a cloth simulation technique that is very stable yet also responsive. The stability of the technique allows the use of a large fixed time step when simulating various types of fabrics and character motions. The animations generated using this technique are strikingly realistic. Wrinkles form and disappear in a quite natural way, which is the feature that most distinguishes textile fabrics from other sheet materials. Significant improvements in both the stability and realism were made possible by overcoming the post-buckling instability as well as the numerical instability. The instability caused by buckling arises from a structural instability and therefore cannot be avoided by simply employing an implicit method. Addition of a damping force may help to avoid instabilities; however, it can significantly degrade the realism of the cloth motion. In this paper, a new buckling model based on immediate buckling assumption is proposed. A cloth element is assumed to reach a stable configuration immediately once it begins to buckle. This assumption makes it possible to simulate the fabric buckling stably without introducing any fictitious damping force. Consequently, it produces highly responsive cloth motion as well as improves the stability by modeling the fabric-specific buckling property adequately.

  • Buckling-restrained braces (BRBs) have excellent hysteretic behavior while buckling-restrained braced frames (BRBFs) are susceptible to residual lateral deformations. To address this drawback, a novel self-centering (SC) BRB with Basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) composite tendons is presented in this work. The configuration and mechanics of proposed BFRP-SC-BRBs are first discussed. Then an 1840-mm-long BFRP-SC-BRB specimen is fabricated and tested to verify its hysteric and self-centering performance. The tested specimen has an expected flag-shaped hysteresis character, showing a distinct self-centering tendency. During the test, the residual deformation of the specimen is only about 0.6 mm. The gap between anchorage plates and welding ends of bracing tubes performs as expected with the maximum opening value 6 mm when brace is in compression. The OpenSEES software is employed to conduct numerical analysis. Experiment results are used to validate the modeling methodology. Then the proposed numerical model is used to evaluate the influence of initial prestress, tendon diameter and core plate thickness on the performance of BFRP-SC-BRBs. Results show that both the increase of initial prestress and tendon diameters can obviously improve the self-centering effect of BFRP-SC-BRBs. With the increase of core plate thickness, the energy dissipation is improved while the residual deformation is generated when the core plate strength exceeds initial prestress force.

  • The establishment of a production pipeline imported 30 computer graphics is suggested in this paper to improve the efficiency of existing production pipeline of clay animation. The point is that the process of building clay characters that remains labor intensive among the existing procedures is replaced by the process of creating computer generated characters. In order to create characters out of clay by means of 30 computer graphics, a diffuse map and displacement map are made of an oil-based clay according to the UVW coordination of polygon modeling, which is the same color and kind of clay used to make a clay character. In addition, a panoramic HDRI recording system is developed to record the lighting information of shooting environment for miniature sets, which is imported in 3D computer graphic tools as digital light source. On account of the new production pipeline, a hyper realistic rendering image can be produced, and at the same time it improves the traditional pipeline of stop motion animation that is know-how based procedure of a complete artist by the engineering approach to the automatic process.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive tutoring system that provides learning materials dynamically according to the learners' teaming character and ability. Our system, in which a learning phase and a test phase are linked together, supports the personalized instruction-learning by providing the teaming materials by level in the learning phase according to the teaming ability estimated in the test phase. We design and implement a tutoring system consisted of an evaluation component and a learning component. An evaluation component uses a computerized adaptive test(CAT) based on item response theory to evaluate learners' ability while a learning component employs fuzzy level set theory so that teaming contents are provided to learners according to learners' level.

  • In this study, theoretical super screen vibration analysis has been carried out to predict the dynamic characteristics of interactive waste particles. In order to approach these problems, it is necessary to have a fundamental understanding the screening process and the process of both the remaining and the passed material on a screen with several interacting screen planes based on Soldinger(1999) was discussed. Here, the vibrating screen is composed of three assemblies such as screen, wastes guide, and supported screen as shown in Fig. 1. This model is regarded vibrator as the system of screen fixed tilt plates. Then materials(or particles) of different size is to be separated by using the eccentric vibrator and classifying tilt plates. As well moisturized construction wastes is more efficient to separate than moisture-less it. In processing separate mechanism, the more materials is light, the more staying time is long. Thus much lighter construction wastes(wood, Styrofoam, etc) and heavier materials are separated by staying time delay in a super screen. The design results, separation screen were able to know that small and larger particles are conspicuous difference each motion character according to trajectory particles, and small particles raise the probability in classifying tilt plates.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to conduct a thorough research on shoes of 2000s, understand the changes and analyze the differences and the characteristics of the shoe designs of the past and present in order to predict and indicate the future direction of the women shoe designs. The shoes of the millennium not only kept the old fashioned shapes but also showed futuristic shapes. With the increasing importance of shoes in fashion, shoes with various images were created. As far as the materials are concerned, natural materials and artificial materials were both used. The colors were vivid and the futuristic colors. On the other hand, pastel toned colors and romantic colors were used in many different designs and shapes regardlees of the seasons. Straps and hills differed from the oldies. Heavy decorations were added to strap shoes to form a whole new design and hills show geometrical platforms or the avantgarde like heights. Feminine images overwhelmed the shoe designs of the millennium. To elaborate, Pumps displayed feminine images the most for it showed a high frequency number regardless of the seasons. Shoes are presented in aesthetical perspective rather then functional or practical perspectives that are based on human nature. Cultural, social, environmental and some part religious factors had a great influence on the evolution on the shoes. Especially in the 2000s, future oriented concepts were implemented on shoe designs, resulting a wider range of expressiveness and in the end leading to a more creative shoe designing. Changes in shoe designs could be pointed out in many ways according to the shapes materials, colors, modeling of decorations or also with the diverting trends.
