The Characterizing Analysis of a Buried-Channel MOSFET based on the 3-D Numerical Simulation

  • A depletion-mode MOSFET has been analyzed to evaluate its electrical behavior using a novel 3-D numerical simulation package. The characterizing analysis of the BC MOSFET was performed through short-channel narrow-channel and small-geometry effects that are investigated, in detail, in terms of the threshold voltage. The DIBL effect becomes significant for a short-channel device with a channel length of $<\;3({\mu}m)$. For narrow-channel devices the variation of the threshold voltage was sharp for $<4({\mu}m)$ due to the strong narrow-channel effect. In the case of small-geometry devices, the shift of the threshold voltage was less sensitive due to the combination of the DIBL and substrate bias effects, as compared with that observed from the short-channel and narrow-channel devices. The characterizing analysis of the narrow-channel and small-geometry devices, especially with channel width of $<\;4({\mu}m)$ and channel area of $<\;4{\times}4({\mu}m^2)$ respectively, can be accurately performed only from a 3-D numerical simulation due to their sharp variations in threshold voltages.

Power Control for D2D Communication in the Cellular System: The Impact of Channel Estimation Error

  • In this paper, we investigate the impact of channel estimation error on the D2D power control algorithm. In the previous work, D2D power control algorithm has been proposed under the assumption that the channel between the transmitter and the corresponding receiver is perfectly estimated. In reality, the channel estimation error is more often the case. The first question is that the power control algorithm designed for perfect channel estimation is still valid under the channel estimation error environment ? The second question is, if it is not valid, what could be the possible remedy for the channel estimation error ? In this paper, to answer the first question, we investigate the impact of the channel estimation error on the power control algorithm. We first review the D2D power control algorithm designed for perfect channel estimation. Then, we model the channel estimation error. Finally, we summarize the main results observed from the analysis of the simulation.

온-오프라인 채널에서 운영하는 고객보상프로그램의 보상채널과 보상시점에 따른 효과 분석 -백화점과 온라인 종합몰을 중심으로- (The Effect of Reward Channel and Reward Time of Customer Loyalty Programs for On-offline Channels -Focusing on Department Stores and Online Shopping Stores-)

  • The study examined the main effect of the reward channel and reward time of customer loyalty programs for on-offline shopping channels; in addition, it investigated the interaction effect of the reward channels and merchandise as well as the interaction effect of the reward time and merchandise. An online apparel shopping web experiment was conducted with a 2 (reward channel: online channel reward vs. offline channel reward) ${\times}2$ (reward time: immediate vs. delayed) ${\times}2$ (merchandise: online channel product vs. offline channel products) between-subject factorial design. An online shopping channel was considered the core-shopping channel and a department store was considered the cross-shopping channel. Loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty and cross-channel loyalty were measured as dependent variables. A total of 845 shoppers (who had experiences in shopping in both channels) participated in the experiment. The results of the study revealed (1) the main effect of the reward channel on loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty and cross-channel loyalty [online>offline channel rewards], (2) the main effect of reward time on loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty and cross-channel loyalty [immediate>delayed reward], and (3) the interaction effect of the reward channel and merchandise on loyalty program value, core-channel loyalty, and cross-channel loyalty. (4) Finally the study found that loyalty program value affected cross-channel loyalty indirectly through core-channel loyalty. This study suggested diverse theoretical and managerial implications for multi-channel retailers.

Effect of Prostaglandins $D_2,\;E_2\;and\;I_2\;on\;the\;Regulation\;of\;K_{ATP}$ Channel Activity in Rat Cardiac Myocytes

  • Contribution of prostaglandins $D_2,\;E_2\;and\;I_2\;(PGD_2,\;PGE_2\;and\;PGI_2)$ on the regulation of ATP-sensitive $K^+$ channel $(K_{ATP}\;channel)$ was investigated in isolated single rat ventricular cardiac myocytes using the patch clamp technique. $PGD_2,\;PGE_2\;and\; PGI_2$ did not affect $K_{ATP}$ channel activity in the inside-out patch, but increased channel activity in a dose-dependent manner when the channel activities were attenuated by the administration of 100 ${\mu}M$ ATP to the internal solution in the inside-out patch. Channel activations by the prostaglandins were abolished by 50 ${\mu}M$ glibenclamide, a $K_{ATP}$ channel blocker. Dose-response curves of relative channel activity against the ATP concentrations of internal solution in the inside-out patch were shifted to the right in the presence of those three prostaglandins. The rank order of the channel stimulatory potencies $(as\;IC_{50}\;for\;ATP)$ calculated from the dose-response curves were $PGI_2\;>\;PGD_2\;>\;PGE_2.$ Conductance of the channel was not changed by those three prostaglandins. In conclusion, we suggest that prostaglandins $D_2,\;E_2\;and\;I_2$ are involved in the regulation of $K_{ATP}$ channel activity in certain circumstances, and that those three prostaglandins may cause myocardial relaxation by opening $K_{ATP}$ channels, thus protecting the heart from ischema.

Fast Channel Allocation for Ultra-dense D2D-enabled Cellular Network with Interference Constraint in Underlaying Mode

  • We investigate the channel allocation problem in an ultra-dense device-to-device (D2D) enabled cellular network in underlaying mode where multiple D2D users are forced to share the same channel. Two kinds of low complexity solutions, which just require partial channel state information (CSI) exchange, are devised to resolve the combinatorial optimization problem with the quality of service (QoS) guaranteeing. We begin by sorting the cellular users equipment (CUEs) links in sequence in a matric of interference tolerance for ensuring the SINR requirement. Moreover, the interference quota of CUEs is regarded as one kind of communication resource. Multiple D2D candidates compete for the interference quota to establish spectrum sharing links. Then base station calculates the occupation of interference quota by D2D users with partial CSI such as the interference channel gain of D2D users and the channel gain of D2D themselves, and carries out the channel allocation by setting different access priorities distribution. In this paper, we proposed two novel fast matching algorithms utilize partial information rather than global CSI exchanging, which reduce the computation complexity. Numerical results reveal that, our proposed algorithms achieve outstanding performance than the contrast algorithms including Hungarian algorithm in terms of throughput, fairness and access rate. Specifically, the performance of our proposed channel allocation algorithm is more superior in ultra-dense D2D scenarios.

Synthetic MR을 이용한 정량적 평가에서 Coil channel 수 변화에 따른 재현성 평가 (Evaluation of Reproducibility According to Variation of Coil Channel in Quantitative Evaluation Using Synthetic MR)

  • 최신 영상 기법인 MAGiC sequence의 RF coil channel 수 변화에 따른 T1, T2 이완 시간 및 T1, T2 이완율을 측정하여 분석하였고 그에 따른 재현성을 평가하였다. Channel 수가 각각 (1, 8, 16, 32)channel 인 RF coil에 조영제 phantom(1.0, 0.6, 0.2, 0mM)을 위치시키고 MAGiC sequence를 이용하여 T1, T2, R1, R2 map을 획득하였다. 그리고 각각의 channel 수와 농도별로 T1, T2, R1, R2 value 그리고 relaxation rate를 측정하였고 이를 기반으로 각 농도에 따른 Relaxivity를 구하였다. 각각의 coil에서 T1, T2, R1, R2 value를 측정한 결과 T1, R1 value는 coil간의 유의한 차이가 없었다(p>0.05). 하지만 T2, R2 value는 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 사후분석 결과에서는 T2 value의 경우 1 channel coil에서 측정한 결과가 8, 16, 32 channel coil에서 측정한 결과와 유의한 차이가 나타났고(p<0.05) 8, 16, 32 channel coil간의 차이는 나타나지 않았다(p>0.05). R2 value의 경우도 마찬가지로 1 channel coil에서 측정한 결과가 8, 16, 32 channel coil에서 측정한 결과와 유의한 차이가 나타났으며 또한 8 channel coil에서 측정한 결과와 16 channel coil에서 측정한 결과가 유의한 차이가 나타났다(p<0.05). 결론적으로 T1, R1 value는 coil의 channel 수 변화에 따른 차이가 크지 않지만 T2, R2 value는 큰 차이를 나타냈다. 따라서 MAGiC sequence를 이용하여 T2, R2 value를 정량적으로 측정할 경우 재현성을 위해 동일한 channel 수의 coil을 사용해야 할 것으로 사료된다.

생쥐 난자의 활성화에 따른 $Ca^{2+}$-channel의 분포 변화에 관한 연구 (Studies of Changes of $Ca^{2+}$-channel Distribution in the Activated Mouse Ova)

  • Objective: In muscle and neuronal cells, calcium channels have been classified by electrophysiological and pharmacological properties into (1) voltage-dependent $Ca^{2+}$-channel (1) P/Q-type $Ca^{2+}$-channel (2) N-type $Ca^{2+}$-channel (3) L-type $Ca^{2+}$-channel (4) T-type $Ca^{2+}$-channel (5) R-type $Ca^{2+}$-channel. The present study was done in order to investigate whether there is any difference in $Ca^{2+}$-channel distribution between activated and normally fertilized embryos. Methods: The immunocytochemical method was used to identify the existence of voltage-dependent $Ca^{2+}$-channels in parthenogenetically activated 2-cell embryos by ethanol and $SrCl_2$ treatment. These 2-cell embryos were obtained by exposure to 6% ethanol for 6 min and to 10 mM $SrCl_2$ for 2h. Results: P/Q-type $Ca^{2+}$-channels and L-type $Ca^{2+}$-channels have been identified. Whereas, three type of $Ca^{2+}$-channel P/Q-type, N-type, L-type have been identified in 2-cell embryos fertilized in vivo. Conclusion: Activation by ethanol was faster than those by $SrCl_2$. However, there was difference in DAB staining of the embryos between ethanol and $SrCl_2$ treatment (87.7% and 54.1 %). Intensity of staining was also different between ethanol- and $SrCl_2$-treated group. However, it has not been known why there was some difference in DAB staining and staining intensity in the present study.

고려 인삼의 효능은 생체막 이온 채널 조절과 연관되어 있다는 증거들에 대하여

  • 최근 20여년 동안 Panax ginseng의 다양한 효과가 연구 되어져 왔다. Panax ginseng의 주요 활성 성분인 ginsenosides는 오직 인삼에서만 발견되어지는 saponin이다. 최근 들어 신경, 非신경 또는 복합적으로 분포된 세포에서 ginsenoside가 $Ca^2+$, $K^+$,$Na^+$,$Cl^-$ channel이나 ligand gated ionchannel (5-HT3, nicotinic acetylcholine, NMDA receptor)과 같은 다양한 ion channel을 조절하는증거들이 발표되고 있다. Ginsenoside는 voltage-dependent $Ca^2+$, $K^+$,$Na^+$ channel의 활성을 억제하는 반면 $Ca^2+$-activated $Cl^-$ channel이나 $Ca^2+$-activated $K^+$ channel의 활성은 증가 시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 흥분성 ligand-gated ion channel인 $5-HT_3$, nicotinic acetylcholine, NMDA receptor의 활성은 억제한다. 본 총설에서는 현재까지 알려진 ion channel 활성에 대한 ginsenoside의 조절작용과 이것으로 인해 어떻게 생물학적 효능과 연결이 되어있는지에 대하여 이야기하고자 한다.

Electrical Characteristics of Solution Processed DAL TFT with Various Mol concentration of Front channel

  • In order to investigate the effect of front channel in DAL (dual active layer) TFT (thin film transistor), we successfully fabricated DAL TFT composed of ITZO and IGZO as active layer using the solution process. In this structure, ITZO and IGZO active layer were used as front and back channel, respectively. The front channel was changed from 0.05 to 0.2 M at fixed 0.3 M IGZO of back channel. When the mol concentration of front channel was increased, the threshold voltage (VTH) was increased from 2.0 to -11.9 V and off current also was increased from 10-12 to 10-11. This phenomenon is due to increasing the carrier concentration by increasing the volume of the front channel. The saturation mobility of DAL TFT with 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2 M ITZO were 0.45, 4.3, and $0.65cm2/V{\cdot}s$. Even though 0.2 M ITZO has higher carrier concentration than 0.05 and 0.1 M ITZO, the 0.1 M ITZO/0.3 M IGZO DAL TFT has the highest saturation mobility. This is due to channel defect such as pores and pin-holes. These defect sites were created during deposition process by solvent evaporation. Due to these defect sites, the 0.1 M ITZO/0.3 M IGZO DAL TFT shows the higher saturation mobility than that of DAL TFT with front channel of 0.2 M ITZO.

OFDM 시스템을 위한 낮은 복잡도를 갖는 2-D MMSE 채널 추정 기법 (A Low-Complexity 2-D MMSE Channel Estimation for OFDM Systems)

  • OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템에서 2-D MMSE (2-Dimensional Minimum Mean Square Error) 채널 추정 기법은 주파수/시간 선택적 특성을 가지는 채널에서 우수한 성능을 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 2-D MMSE 채널 추정 방식은 주파수 축 뿐만 아니라 시간 축 까지 고려하기 때문에 행렬 크기가 커지고, 이로 인해 복잡도가 크게 증가한다는 문제점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 l-D MMSE 채널 추정 구조를 기반으로 가중치 합을 이용하여 기존의 2-D MMSE 채널 추정 방식보다 낮은 복잡도를 갖는 방식을 제안한다. 뿐만 아니라 2-D MMSE 채널 추정을 적용하기 위해 필요한 파라미터인 RMS 지연 확산과 도플러 주파수를 추정하는 기법을 고려한다. 성능 검증 결과 제안하는 방식은 기존의 2-D MMSE 방식에 비해서 복잡도를 크게 줄일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 2-D MMSE 채널 추정 방법과 유사한 성능을 나타내는 것을 확인하였다.
