  • Wasted phosphogypsum is a by-product from the phosphoric acid process of manufacturing fertilizers. It consists mainly of $CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$ and contains some impurities. The purpose of this study is to utilize wasted phosphogypsum into an admixture for concrete products cured by steam This paper is to investigate the strength properties of cement composites containing high volume phosphogypsum. The cement composites were composed of OPC, phosphogypsum, fly-ash and granulated blast-furnace slag with activators. As a result, the strength of cement composites containing high volume wasted phosphogypsum were shown high level when granulated blast-furnace slag was mixed. Therefore, PG could be used as a steam curing admixture for concrete 2th production with reduction of OPC.

  • The purpose of this study reutilization of waste fine tailing as admixture for cement. We observe tailing's basic properties such as shape, physical and chemical basic features. Also, various admixtures were made of 2 Types of tailings, OPC, fly-ash and blast furnace slag. The basic properties of the cement mortars incorporation with these admixtures were examined and analyzed under a verity of experimental conditions. This work showed that the tailing separated coarse materials could be effectively utilized as replacement materials of cement without any decrease in the strength if we can control the blaine of materials like OPC, slag and fly ash.

  • This paper reports on a comprehensive study on the mechanical properties of expansive fiber-reinforced strainhardening cement composite (SHCC) materials containing various replacement levels (0, 8, 10, 12 and 14%) of an expansive admixture and 1.5% polyethylene (PE) fibers volume fraction. A number of experimental tests were conducted to investigate shrinkage, compressive strength, flexural strength, and direct tension behavior. Test results show that as expected, the different replacement levels of an expansive admixture have an important effect on the evolution of the free shrinkage of SHCC with a rich mixture. At the volume fraction of 1.5%, PE fibers in normal SHCC reduce free shrinkage deformation by about 30% in comparison to plain mortar. The replacement of an expansive admixture in SHCC material has led the SHCC to a better initial cracking behavior. Enhanced cracking tendency improved mechanical properties of SHCC materials with rich mixtures. Note that an increase in the replacement of expansive admixture from 10% to 14% does not lead to a significant improvement for mechanical properties; this implies that the replacement of 10% expansive admixture is sufficient.

  • In this research, flow experiments and simulation of highly flowable concrete has been attempted using a viscoplastic particle method varying with dosages of SP admixture and water-cement (W/C) ratios. Rheological and flow characteristics of flowable concrete manufactured in domestic products of cement, aggregates, and SP admixtures were investigated by experimental programs varying with mix proportions. From experiment, the predictive model of rheological characteristics of flowable concrete has been newly proposed considering with the effects of the W/C ratio and the dosage of SP admixture, and the effect of mixing proportion has also been incorporated into shear stress and strain rate curve of flowable concrete in the current method. A series of L-box flow test of highly flowable concrete varying with dosages of SP admixture and W/C ratios was compared with the proposed model.

  • This research concerns the effect of kaolin as material of cement admixture. which has the advantage of low price and high adaptability. Kaolin, a kind of soil, is well known as a raw material of pottery. which is widely scat-tered on the earth (especially in Korea). This research shows the method and process for activating kaolin to have the properties of a cement admixture through experiment. In the experiments, kaolin is baked in high temperature and then cooled suddenly to be activated. The temperature zone and time span, on which kaolin is activated are examined. The research looks over the effect of the activated kaolin based on several criteria regarding to chemical and physical characteristic of general admixtures. The results of this research are as follows; kaolin start activation at the temperature above 50$0^{\circ}C$ and make ends of activation at the temperature below 95$0^{\circ}C$ and there was little effect by the change of duration. It is concluded that compressive strength can be increased by putting activated kaolin in the concrete and the activated kaolin is good for water resistance and anti-chemical , and that it is effective for protecting the leakage of hazardous article like Cl- and for protecting damage by an organic salt like acid. The activated kaolin of proper temperature and time is effective in compressive strength, salt resistance and acid resistance. The adaptability of activated kaolin as a cement admixture was shown through this research.

  • To study possibility of $Cr^{6+}$ solid solution and efficiency of admixture, leaching property of Portland cement mortar was investigated by using KSLT (Korea Standard Leaching Test), TCLP (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure), Soacking procedure, as adding excess $Cr^{6+}$. As a result, admixture of lignin type showed high compressive strength of mortar but no changing leaching property.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the thermal conductivity of cement mortar for apartment housing floor using expansive admixture, copper fiber, cower lathe, hollowed aluminum plate. According to test results, temperature at point (a) located above heating pipe does not show significant variation with age, and temperature at (b), which is located at the finishing surface above heating pipe, and temperature at (c), which is located at center surface between heating pipe has remarkable change. Temperature distribution sat (b) are in order for, structure containing copper fiber>plain structure>structure containing hollowed aluminum plate>structure containing expansive admixture. Temperature distribution, shows high tendency in order for, structure containing copper fiber>structure containing copper lathe>structure containing hollowed aluminum plate>plain structure>structure containing expansive admixture. (a) estimation of temperature distribution is determined with the variation of temperature between (b) point and (c) point during 60 minutes heating.

  • In this study, the experiment was conducted in the level of mortar as one of the basic studies on pre-cast concrete which acceleration curing is not done. This study has the purpose to develop the strength of mortar into 20MPa within 6 hours in the condition of room temperature using admixtures which can accelerate C3S hydration reaction. In this experiment, W/C was fixed into 20%, PCE which can stimulate C3S was used as an accelerating admixture. From the results of this experiment, maximum content of accelerating admixture was 1%. Also, as more than 20MPa was measured through 6-hour compressive strength, it can be known that strength can be developed without steam-curing.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope of alternative adimixture for manufacture of PHC pile(compressive strength above 800kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$). For the investigation, properties of alternative admixture admixed with II-anhydrite and pozollanic fine powders(e.q., Fly-ash, Silica-Fume), the fluidity and viscosity in the cement pastes, the fluidity and compressive strength in mortars at steam curing condition, were respectively examined. Also, properties of compressive strength of concretes with exiting admixture(specimen name SM) and alterantive admixture(specimen name AP) for PHC pile, at steam and standard curing condition, were compared each other. As a result of this experimental study, it was found that specimens admixed with II-anhydrite and pozollanic fine powders had an increase on the fluidity of cement paste and mortar, and compressive strength of mortar and concrete was as good as concrete with SM.

  • In this paper, salt damage resistance of high durable concrete was tested. High durable concrete was made by using low water cement ratio, chemical admixture called super-durable admixture and mineral admixtures such as fly-ash, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, silica fume. Two kinds of salt damage resistance test were carried out. One method is chloride ion penetration test(ASTM C1202), and the other one is depth of chloride penetration test in saline solution. Test results were as followers: 1) The depth of chloride ion penetration increased exponentially as water cement ratio was increased and time passed. 2) Super-durable admixture had little effect on the improvement of salt damage resistance of concrete. 3) Silica fume and ground granulated blast-furnace slag were effective on salt damage resistance because of pozzolanic reaction, but fly-ash had a little effect.
