  • The tiny camera module used in a modern cellular phone requires precise assembly processes. To meet the requirement of high resolution and functionality, the number of parts used in a camera module becomes larger and larger. As the market grows rapidly, an automatic camera phone assembly process is required. However, diverse production line and short life cycle make it difficult to build an affordable assembly line. To attack this problem, a flexible and expandable lens assembly system is proposed. To save the manufacturing line set-up time, modular concept is adopted. Also, each module is designed to have intelligence to simplify the set-up process. The assembly system is built up on the standard flat-form that includes a vibration free base, air and electric supplies, and electronic controllers, etc. Furthermore, the assembly cell has the capability of handling tiny, thin, or transparent parts which are very difficult to identify without machine vision.

  • Cell-phones functions have advanced so rapidly and they are now called 'smart-phones.' Typical approach to optimization the performance of a smartphone is the increasing the speed of device and acquiring more free memory. In this paper, we propose relatively simple techniques that average users can apply to their devices to optimize the performance. For performance upgrade, we proposed an over-clocking technique usually used by computer manufacturers. For memory optimization, we proposed deleting unnecessary apps and replacing with better-functioning apps. We also performed experimentation by applying these techniques to a popular Android phone model and presented the results.

  • This research's goal is to process directly aspherics with big sagment and thin center thickness. If we can process directly aspherics with big sagment and thin center thickness, we think it greatly helps to reduce the time of developing optical system. We made very thin glass using diamond grinding whetstone regarding the trace of tool and the detailed drawing of tool super precisive aspherics that has 0.46mm center thickness and over $30^{\circ}$ segment, $0.1{\mu}m$ machining accuracy, 15nm surface accuracy. We think this research's result will be effective to open new market because it is applied not only cell phone optical system but also CCTV robot optical system, internet phone optical system. Also we expect to enhance the super strong brittle precisive process's possibility with super precisive processing technique that achieves 0.46mm glass center thickness as first in the world.

  • Radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation (RF-EMR) from various sources may impact health due to the generation of frequency bands. Broad pulses emitted within frequency bands can be absorbed by cells, influencing their function. Numerous laboratory studies have demonstrated that mobile phones-generally the most widely used devices-can have harmful effects on sex cells, such as sperm and oocytes, by producing RF-EMR. Moreover, some research has indicated that RF-EMR generated by mobile phones can influence sperm parameters, including motility, morphology, viability, and (most critically) DNA structure. Consequently, RF-EMR can disrupt both sperm function and fertilization. However, other studies have reported that exposure of spermatozoa to RF-EMR does not affect the functional parameters or genetic structure of sperm. These conflicting results likely stem from differences among studies in the duration and exposure distance, as well as the species of animal used. This report was undertaken to review the existing research discussing the effects of RF-EMR on the DNA integrity of mammalian spermatozoa.

  • For a mobile application such as cellular phone, micro fuel cells should be extremely compact and thin. RHFC can be an alternative solution because RHFC gives higher power density than DMFC and does not need ahydrogen storage vessel In this paper, RHFC using methanol fuel is made as a novel planar design without a PROX. Both reformer and cell are made closely in a same plate to share the heater of reformer with the cell. The PBI membrane is used in the cell. The reason is that high temperature of reformer can cause a performance drop when perfluorosulfonic acid membrane such as Nafion is used such a high temperature operation also guarantees the higher CO tolerance to MEA catalyst. The cell is designed as an air-breathing type which the cathode of the cell is opened to the air. The commercial Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 steam reformer catalyst is packed in reformer channel. The active area of MEA is $11.9cm^2$ and the peak power density was $27.5mW/cm^2$.

  • Recently smart phone and tablet PC are regarded as the most valuable mobile devices, so the demand of customers for multimedia supporting has been greatly increased. The network operators are now considering the deployment of relay stations ensuring low installation costs for its service cell to improve the cell capacity. Enhancing the relay stations, however, increases intra-cell interference, which is affecting the quality of service and outage ratio. In this paper, we present MPFR(Multihop Partial Frequency reuse) as the new frequency reuse scheme to increase cell throughput while maintaining low outage ratio for the OFDMA cellular multihop networks. Dynamic power control is also introduced to improve cell capacity. Overall cell throughput and outage ratio are observed by the simulation, and comparison between MPFR and conventional multihop frequency reuse schemes is convincing the performance enhancement.

  • Recent advances in mobile devices and development of various mobile applications dealing with private information of users made user authentication in mobile devices a very important issue. This paper presents a new user authentication method based on touch screen interfaces. This method uses for authentication the PIN digits as well as the exact locations the user touches to input these digits. Our method is fully compatible with the regular PIN entry method which uses numeric keypads, and it provides better usability than the behavioral biometric schemes because its PIN registration process is much simpler. According to our experiments, our method guarantees EERs of 12.8%, 8.3%, and 9.3% for 4-digit PINs, 6-digit PINs, and 11-digit cell phone numbers, respectively, under the extremely conservative assumption that all users have the same PIN digits and cell phone numbers. Thus we can guarantee much higher performance in identification functionality by applying this result to a more practical situation where every user uses distinct PIN and sell phone number. Finally, our method is far more secure than the regular PIN entry method, which is verified by our experiments where attackers are required to recover a PIN after observing the PIN entry processes of the regular PIN and our method under the same level of security parameters.

  • A large number of phone calls and data services will take place in indoor environments. In Long Term Evolution (LTE), femtocell, as a home base station for indoor coverage extension and wideband data service, has recently gained significant interests from operators and consumers. Since femtocell is frequently turned on and off by a personal owner, not by a network operator, one of the key issues is that femtocell should be identified autonomously without system information to support handover from macrocell to femtocell. In this paper, we propose a dynamic reservation scheme of Physical Cell Identities (PCI) for 3GPP LTE femtocell systems. There are several reserving types, and each type reserves a different number of PCIs for femtocell. The transition among the types depends on the deployed number of femtocells, or the number of PCI confusion events. Accordingly, flexible use of PCIs can decrease PCI confusion. This reduces searching time for femtocell, and it is helpful for the quick handover from macrocell to femtocell. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme reduces average delay for identifying detected cells, and increases network capacity within equal delay constraints.

  • There is an increasing need for manufacturing systems to produce batches in small quantities. Such manufacturing systems are significantly difficult to develop with conventional automation equipment. Recently, several research groups have applied industrial dual-arm robots to cell production lines. A synchronization method for robots is necessary for the cell production process when robots work in a shared workspace. Conventional automation factories do not need this method because the main control system operates all of the machines or robots. However, our intended application for the developed robot is in small manufacturing environments that cannot install an expensive main control system. We propose an inexpensive and high-performance method with a simple digital in/out channel using a real-time communication protocol. The developed method was validated in a pilot production line for cellular phone packing.

  • The Cell Broadcast Service is a public service that delivers information on disaster situations to mobile phones. In Korea, where mobile phone penetration is high, disaster information delivery through Cell Broadcast Service has a higher preference than other information delivery methods. However, since it consists only of text messages, disaster information is not delivered normally to the information vulnerable class compared to the general public. To compensate for this, a disaster information delivery application using Cell Broadcast Service was proposed and research was conducted. If research like this paper continues and Cell Broadcast Service become a service that transmits various disaster-related information considering the information vulnerable at home and abroad, it will provide the effect of reducing damage to disasters through rapid and accurate response.
