  • The $(LM)Ni_{4.5}Co_{0.1}Mn_{0.2}Al_{0.2}$ hydrogen storage alloy powders were conducted 25wt% electroless copper plating in an acidic bath. For the preparation of a hydride electrodes, the copper coated alloy powder was mixed with Si-sealant(organosilicon) and compacted with $6t/cm^2$ at room temperature. The electrode characteristics were examined through electrochemical measurements in a half cell. As a sealant contents increased, the initial discharge capacity of si-sealant bounded electrode was lower and the activation rate in high current density was slower. For extended cycles, however, the electrodes with the Si-sealant were superior in a high rate discharge and useful range of temperature over the sealant-free electrode. In addition, the cycle life increased with increasing the amount of Si-sealant added. It can be suggested from the results that the Si-sealant as a binder could be applied to the preparation of the metal hydride electrode.

  • This paper presents a method for constructing model of manufacturing processes for simulation and design of the discrete control logic. The models represent the discrete vent evolution of the system as well as features of the underlying continues processes, for applications such as discrete parts manufacture and assembly, the process is decomposed into operations and for each operation the required resources and associated discrete resource slates are Identified. The structure of the discrete-level control is modeled by modified Perti nets which are synthesized from single resource activity cycles. Construction of nets provides discrete control logic with guaranteed properties based on extended Petri nets theory, for illustration, the proposed method is applied to the high-level discrete control of a two-robotic assembly cell.

  • The microstructural effects on the ultrasonic nonlinearity were investigated in isothermally degraded ferritic 2.25Cr-1Mo steel and low cycle fatigued copper. The variation in ultrasonic nonlinearity (${\beta}/{\beta}_0$) was interpreted as resulting from microstructural changes supported by the electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, in addition to the mechanical test (Victor's hardness and ductile-brittle transition temperature). The ultrasonic nonlinearity of 2.25Cr-1Mo steel increased abruptly in the initial 1,000 h of degradation, and then changed little due to the coarsening of carbide and precipitation of stable $M_6C$ carbide during isothermal degradation. The ultrasonic nonlinearity of copper increased with the fatigue cycles due to the evolution of dislocation cell substructure.

  • Fuel cells supply electric power and heat at work, and their exhaust gas is comparatively clear. So they are in the limelight as one of the co-generation systems which behave friendly with the environment. Fuel cells discharge both steam and hot water. Accordingly, if we combine absorption heat pump driven by waste heat with fuel cells, we can construct an advanced energy conserving system. The purpose of this study is the objective for evaluating the possibilities of effectively utilizing waste heat of fuel cells as a heat source for the single and double effect absorption systems. Simulation studies on single and double effect absorption have been performed for water/lithium-bromide pair. The effectiveness of introducing a waste heat source of fuel cells is demonstrated. The result of this study showed that total efficiency was about 85% at rated operation and about 75% at 75% load operation. Absorption cycle moved to more strong concentration when fuel cell operated at 75% load.

  • A studv on the ultrastructural changes of the hermaprodite duct epithelium in spring and summer specimens of a Korean slug Incirovia fruhstorferi was conducted. In spring specimen, the hermaphrodite duct was 0.3 H 0.2 mm in diameter and seemed to be a little bit abnormal feature, due to shrinkage. The epithelium of the duct was composed of cells containing various-sized vacuoles and their cytoplasm showed high electron density. In summer specimen, the hermaphrodite duct was 0.4 $\times$ 0.23 mm in diameter and seemed to be more voluminous than that of the spring specimen. The lumen of the duct in the summer specimen was lined by a epithelium composed of several cell types such as ciliated cuboidal, pseudostratified cuboidal, ciliated columnar and irregular cells. Phasocvtotic activities of the duct epithelium are observed only in the summer specimen. Both of the duct epithelia in the spring and summer specimens were surrounded by connective tissues at their bases. The results obtained suggest that the duct epithelia of the slugs experience seasonal variation in relation to their reproductive cycles.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and developV$_2$O$_{5}$-SP270 composite electrode for supercapacitor. Property of an electrical double layer capacitor depend both on the technique used to prepare the electrode and on the current collector structure. The study is to research that V$_2$O$_{5}$-carbon composite electrode for supercapacitor with different voltage range. Suprcapacitor cell of V$_2$O$_{5}$-SP270 composite electrode with 25PVDFLiC1O$_4$PC$_{10}$ polymer electrolyte bring out good capacitor performance below 3V. The discharge capacitance of SP270 in 1st cycles was 13F/g at 0.1mA/cm$^2$, 3V. We performed cycle voltammogram, charge/discharge property.y.rty.y.

  • Here, a controlled green synthesis route involving hydrothermal pre-carbonization cum pyrolysis is reported that converts cucumber into graphene-like carbon nanosheets for supercapacitor application. Transmission electron microscopy analysis reveals the formation of ultra-thin carbon nanosheets with distributed pores. This cucumber derived carbon exhibits high specific capacitance of $143F\;g^{-1}$ in aqueous electrolyte. The two-electrode symmetric cell exhibits a specific capacitance of $58F\;g^{-1}$ at high current density, and high capacitance retention of 97% after 1000 cycles. This simple low-cost process involving widely available cucumber as biomass precursor is a promising, commercially viable approach for developing high-performance supercapacitors.

  • Cylindrical specimens with different levels of density have been submitted to uniaxial compression tests with loading and unloading cycles. The analysis of the elastic loadings shows a non linear elasticity which can be mathematically represented by means of a potential law. Results are explained by assuming that the total elastic strain is the contribution of two terms one deriving from the hertzian deformation of the contacts among particles and another that takes into account the linear elastic deformation of the powder skeleton. A simple model based in an one pore unit cell is presented to support the mathematical model.

  • Lithium dendrite formation is one of the most significant problems with lithium metal batteries. The lithium dendrite reduces the lithium metal batteries' cycling life and safety. To apply consistent external pressure to a lithium metal pouch cell, we design a press jig in this study. External pressure creates dense lithium morphology by preventing lithium dendrite formation. After 300 cycles at 1 C, the cells with the external pressure perform far better than the cells without it, with a cycling retention of 97.8%. The formation of stable lithium metal is made possible by external pressure, which also enhances safety and cyclability.

  • Although helminth parasites have different life cycles, their hosts share similar immune responses involving Th2 cell-type. Here, we extracted proteins from the larvae of Anisakis simplex complex and Trichinella spiralis to identify common and specific antigens (or allergens) associated with the Th2 immune response. We performed two-dimensional electrophoresis analysis and Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight/time of flight (MALDI-TOF/TOF) experiments. We found 13 potentially immunogenic proteins, which included 5 spots specific to T. spiralis and 8 common to T. spiralis and A. simplex, by tandem mass spectrometry. These molecules were identified structurally as actin, tropomyosin, col cuticle N domain-containing protein, and heat shock proteins. We also identified molecules related to parasite-host immune modulation and interactions. Our results may contribute to reveal potential roles of immunological proteins in parasite-derived immune modulation.
