  • This paper proposes a visualization method that expresses users' MBTI personality types based on the categorization method called 'Big Five Personality Traits' and their representative celebrities' facial images. This system has significance for visualizing traits from texts to images effectively. The entire system is composed of making backgrounds to represent traits of each MBTI category using 'Big Five Personality Traits' and showing facial images of celebrities with corresponding MBTI personality types. First, 'Big Five Personality Traits' classifies 16 MBTI types into four categories and each of category traits lays the foundation to make background using visual elements such as colors and lines. Second, celebrities' facial images are substituted for the corresponding literal explanation of each MBTI type. By adjusting the color saturation, users can distinguish relationship between the types intuitively. As a result, this system enables users to take information for their own / opposite / similar MBTI types simultaneously.

  • With the softness of online entertainment news articles and the increasing number of quick-reporting articles in the entertainment sector, many people have access to entertainment front-page articles and are now able to make reviews of celebrities. It is not easy to systematically analyze which news articles are about which celebrities in a real-time environment, although their reputation is a key factor in the entertainment agency's business strategy, which should make the most of its affiliated celebrity resources. Based on the amount of celebrity references mentioned in entertainment news data, this paper proposes an entertainment news keyword analysis system, which extracts celebrities that are the subject of the article and associates them with the celebrity entertainment agency in question. Through the system proposed in this paper, advertisers or entertainment agencies can judge the value of the celebrity as reference material for the business. In addition, it can lay the groundwork for an investment strategy by predicting the outlook for the entertainment company for brokerages and investors.

For stars and entertainment companies that expect the effect of communicating with fans through Internet broadcasting, it can be said that it is important to grasp viewers' viewing motivation and satisfaction. Thus, we analyzed the viewing motivation and satisfaction of Chinese viewers' Internet personal broadcasting of famous celebrities based on the uses and gratifications approach. To this end, an online survey was conducted, and as a result, 'emotional motivation' and 'functional motivation' were found as Chinese viewers' motivation for viewing Internet personal broadcasting of famous celebrities. • Purpose - In this study, we inspected the effects of public-service advertising (PSA) and commercial advertisements on consumers' social and emotional values. Specifically, we include source credibility on advertising models as a mediating variable to compare the path difference between the social and emotional value of consumers, and to test the appropriateness of advertising expenses. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 219 copies of effective questionnaires were used and methodologies such as Cronbach's alpha, paired samples t-test, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were conducted. Results - The results showed that the consumer model was effective at PSA, while celebrities and CEOs were effective at commercial advertising. Further, only credibility (among source credibility) made a significant difference in the test of PSA models of both PSA and commercial advertising that consumers preferred. Conclusions - The advertising model types varied depending on advertising types (for example, PSA and commercial advertising). Therefore, celebrities and CEOs appearing in commercial advertising should have no ethical or moral defect by self-control, and marketers should elect the model considering such a fact.

  • Purpose - The use of celebrity endorsers is a strategy long-since used by companies to improve the persuasive impact of their company's advertising. However, much like anyone else, celebrities are flawed human beings, and therefore often find themselves involved in scandals. Companies must consider the potential of scandals when using a celebrity endorser to represent their brand or product. This research focuses on the process consumers use to justify scandals involving celebrity endorsers. Specifically, this research divides the justification processes used by consumers to maintain support for celebrities involved in a scandal into moral decoupling and moral rationalization and proposes antecedents and consequences for these processes. Methodology - To verify the hypotheses suggested by this study, an online survey was conducted, and data was analyzed using a structural equation model. Result - Results showed that consumer empathy for the celebrity endorser and external attribution of the scandal presented were positively related to moral decoupling and moral rationalization. In addition, moral rationalization was positively related to consumers' attitude towards the celebrity endorser, which also enhanced brand attitude. However, the relationship between moral decoupling and the consumer's attitude toward the celebrity endorser was not statistically significant. Conclusion - This research serves to expand the scope of available research on the persuasiveness of celebrity endorsers and provides practical guidelines for marketers.

  • Korean celebrity endorsement is a common practice adopted by companies in China. This study assessed the impact of celebrity endorsement (trustworthiness, attractiveness, congruency, and expertise) on Chinese consumers' intention to purchase clothes endorsed by Korean celebrities. This study used reliability and validity tests and structural equation model analysis to explore the relationship between variables using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. This study conducted an online survey (www.sojump.com) from August 10, 2020 to August 20, 2020 and collected 370 respondents. Results show that all constructs of celebrity endorsement positively affected purchase intention and that celebrity expertise had the strongest impact. With respect to the influence of demographic variables on the constructs, gender, age, and education had a significant effect on trustworthiness; gender and age had a significant effect on attractiveness; and income had an effect on purchase intention. Marketing executives should consider using Korean celebrities for different purposes in brand advertising. Particularly, celebrity expertise, such as experience, knowledge, and skills, should receive attention while publicizing to Chinese consumers. This study contributes to the academic and practical implications of Korean celebrity endorsement.
