H-NCM(Hong-Nanocast Method)has several benefits such as a lower porosity defect and high quality casting comparing to conventional die casting. Influence of casting parameters of hybrid-lower arm in rheocasting process on the slurry flow and the amount of porosity defect was investigated using experimental and simulation methods. In the present study, the Carreau model was adopted to simulate the pattern of rheological flow. Optimal casting paremeters such as injection speed and stroke variations were established. Sound products with integral microstructure and sound shape of joinning different materials of Al and steel pipe without deforming the steel pipe were obtained by the H-NCM slurry and X-ray analysis also showed integral condition throughout the entire parts.
Microstructure and characteristics of the SiCp/Al-4.5wt%Cu-1wt%Mg composites fabricated by the combination of the compocasting and the pressurized continuous casting process, which is one of the processes to decrease the limitations of the size, and shops of the products, are investigated. The main results are as follows: 1) the SiCp/Al alloy matrix composites can be made continuously 2) as the amount of SiCp addition increases; (1) the degree of directional solidification of matrix structure decreases, and that of SiCp dispersion improves, (2) wear resistance improves, and especially these composites show the excellent wear resistance under the high sliding speed and high final load condition, (3) wear mechanism of these composites is changed from adhesive wear into abrasive wear, and the tendency of that becomes outstanding with increasing sliding speed.
Bi-2212 HTS tube was fabricated by centrifugal forming process(CFP). As a variation of melt casting process(MCP) or centrifugal casting technique, the centrifugal forming process is a flexible method for manufacturing Bi-2212 bulk tubes and has been optimized to achieve smooth surface and uniform thickness. At this process, the slurry was prepared in the mixing ratio of 10:1 between Bi-2212 powder and binder and initially charged into the rotating mold under the speed of 300~450 rpm Heat-treatment was performed at the temperature ranges of 860 ~ $890^{\circ}C$ in air for partial melting. The HTS tube fabricated by centrifugal forming process at $890^{\circ}C$ under the rotating speed of 450 rpm was highly densified and the plate-like grains with more than 20$\mu$m were well oriented along the rotating axis. The measured Tc and Jc at 10K were around 85K and 3,000A/cm2 respectively.
The new rheology fabrication process has been developed to rheo die casting and rheo forming process. Thixoforming process has disadvantages in terms of induction reheating process, scrap recycling, loss of raw material and cycle time. Therefore, to reduce the number of process, new rheology fabrication process with specially designed the rotational barrel type equipment has been proposed to apply in various part productions. The barrel type equipment, which could continuously fabricate the rheology materil, was specially designed to have a function to control cooling rate, shear rate and temperature. During the continuous rotation of barrel with a constant temperature, the shear rate is controlled with the rotation speed. The barrel surface has both the induction heating system and the cooling system to control the temperature of molten metal. By using this system, the effect of the rotation speed and the rotation time on the microstructure was widely examined. The possibility for the rheoforming process was investigated with microstructural characteristic.

Continuous casting of the $Al-CuAl_2$ eutectic composite was carried out by the upward continuous casting process. The morphology of the eutectic growth and the stability of solid-liquid interface were investigated under various growth conditions. It was possible to get the planar solid-liquid interface at the condition of $G_L/R$=$3.6{\times}10^3^{\circ}Csec/mm^2$. And the colony structures were formed at the conditions of $G_L/R$ < $R=0.33{\times}10^3^{\circ}Csec/mm^2$. The inter-lamellar spacing of $Al-CuAl_2$ eutectic composite was decreased with the increase of pulling speed. The reduction of inter-lamellar spacing & value of $G_L/R$ caused the increase of ultimate tensile strength and Rockwell hardness in $Al-CuAl_2$ eutectic composite.
Three-dimensional finite-element-based numerical model of turbulent flow, heat transfer, macroscopic solidification and inclusion trajectory in a continuos steel slab caster was developed Turbulence was incorporated using the Improved Low-Re turbulence model with positive preserving approach. The mushy region was modeled as the porous media with average effective viscosity. A series of simulations was carried out to investigate the effects of the casting speed, the slab size, the delivered superheat the immersion depth of the SEN on the transport phenomena. In the absence of any known experimental data related to velocity profiles, the numerical predictions of the solidified profile on a caster was compared with breakouts data and a good agreement was found.
For the fabrication of poly-crystalline silicon ingot, CCCC (Cold Crucible Continuous Casting) method under a high frequency alternating magnetic field, was utilized in order to prevent crucible consumption and ingot contamination and to increase production rate. In order to effectively and continuously melt and cast silicon, which has a high radiation heat loss due to the high melting temperature and a low induction heating efficiency due to a low electric conductivity, Joule and pinch effects were optimized. Throughout the present investigation, poly-crystalline Si ingot was successfully produced at the casting speed of above 1.5 mm/min under a non-contact condition.
Recently, to improve the productivity in the continuous casting process, thin slab continuous caster which is one of the new steelmaking technologies by a high speed casting has been introduced. In the process of the thin slab continuous cast, there is more possibility than convnetional one that the deformation be occurred by the bulging of solidified shell, since the thickness of soliidfied shell is very thin as much as 60mm after the casting is finished. In some cases of severe bulging, there might be more breakout. In this paper, using finite difference method , solification analysis of slab is made as well as the thicknessof solidified shell and temperature are calculated. Also, based on the data of the calculated temperature, the deformed behavior of solidified narrow face is anlayzed with the MARC which is a package program for finite element analysis.
