  • Inside the global management environment that is going through sudden changes, businesses are concentrating on putting in much hard work to establish the most competitive management strategy for its survival. As a executing tool and following the strategy establishment, BSC is being introduced and used by many businesses and public institutions, but instead of being used as a tool with the proper purpose of executing strategies, in reality, it is mainly being used to measure and evaluate outcomes. Of the several reasons why this is so, one important issue and its fundamental cause is that although BSC had been developed as a strategy executing tool, it is diffcult to understand the degree of execution of strategies because the overall measurement of the KPI includes all the strategic and operational parts. Through case study, this article acts on presenting the methodology of measuring the degree of execution of strategies that apply the BSC and PM frameworks.

  • This paper presents a design and implementation of Usecase modeling tool to support integrated usecase diagramming and description writing. It also suggests diagram maintaining based on relationship and it makes UML standard diagramming by providing connection verification between diagram elements. It results in not only user-friendly and effective usecase modeling but it also contributing to integrated and consistent usecase modeling.

  • Proposed in this paper is a standard-compliant business process modeling tool which is based on the UML(Unified Modeling Language) activity diagram and produces an XPDL(XML Process Definition Language) file as an output. The XPDL is a standard process definition exchange format by WfMC(Workflow Management Coalition). To develop an UML/XPDL-based modeling tool, the mapping of modeling elements between activity diagram and XPDL format is conducted after the detailed analysis of each modeling specification. As a result of this mapping, it is revealed that modeling elements of each activity diagram and XPDL must be expanded. So new modeling elements are identified and added to each specification. Based on this mapping, the prototype system is developed, and the usefulness of the developed system is shown through the case study.

  • They use a Ball End-mill in order to manufacturing sculptured surface when making metal mold, mold, cars and aircraft. In the work of a Ball End-mill case, customers do not often satisfied with manufacturing precision. Eventually, they have to re-work for the purpose of meeting manufacturing precision. There are resulted in lots of loss, whereby, in terms of both time and costs. The reasons of tolerance reducing manufacturing precision are thermal strain, the surface is damaged because of increasing cutting force and tool wear, tool deflection etc.. We focus on, however, manufacturing precision caused due to deflection of tool.

  • With development of high advanced technologies and skills, micro machining techniques also are being more functional and smaller. Some of the recently developed micro machining technologies are micro drilling, micro EDM, WEDG, LBM, micro milling, micro UVM etc. In these micro machining techniques, Micro -EDM is generally used for machining micro holes, pockets, and micro structures in difficult-cut-materials. For machining micro structures, first of all, tool electrode should be fabricated by WEDG process. In micro-EDM, parameters such as peak current, pulse width, duration time are very important to fabricate the tool electrode and micro structures. Developed experimental equipments are composed of RLC circuit with PWM. In this paper, using developed micro EDM machine, the characteristics of micro electro discharge machining are investigated at micro holes, slot, and pocket machining etc. Also the trends of tool wear are investigated in case of hole and slot machining.

  • Stress state of chip formation zone is one of the main problems in metal cutting mechanics. In two-dimensional case this process is usually considered as consistent shears of work material along single of several shear surfaces. separating chip from workpiece. These shear planes are assumed to be trajectories of maximum shear stress forming corresponding slip-line field. This paper suggests new approach to the constriction of slip-line field, which Implies uniform compression in chip formation zone. On the base of given model it has been found that imaginary shear line in orthogonal cutting is close to the trajectory of maximum normal stress and the problem about its determination have been considered. It has been shown that there is a second central slip-line field inside chip, which corresponds well to experimental data about stress distribution on tool rake face and tool-chip contact length. The suggested model could be useful in solution of various problems of machining.

  • End-milling is intermittent cutting process performed by a tool with a number of teeth. Its cutting forces are commonly measured by the tool dynamometer which has rectangular coordinates. In this case, the pattern of cutting forces is different according to cutting conditions. At a certain cutting condition, the sign of cutting force changes from positive to negative during a revolution of one tooth. The change of force direction excites a cutting tool and severe vibration arises when radial depth of cut increases. In this study, cutting experiments and simulations were carried out in order to explain the cause of the change of the cutting force direction. In addition, the effect of the cutting force change was discussed in terms of chatter vibration in end milling.

  • End Milling is avilable for machining the variable shape of products and has been widely applicated in many industries. To manufacture precise products a surface roughness has to be noticable as a improtant parameter. In end milling the research for tool wear has been insufficient because the tool shape and the cutting geometry are complicated. In this paper the pattern of endmill wear is investigated and the machinability is evaluated. As finding out the characteristics of cutting force and surface roughness the effect of endmill wear on machinability is investigated.

  • In this study we first explain details of the semiconductor manufacturing processes and cluster tools. Then we discuss the problems in current fab layout and cluster tool architecture. As a solution to these problems, we propose the ILE (In-Line EFEM) architecture in which wafer movements are conducted through interconnected EFEMs (Equipment Front End Modules) instead of AMHS (Automated Material Handling System). Then we model the pilot ILE system using discrete event simulation and analyze the cycle time. Finally we compare three different scenarios of equipment layout in the ILE system in terms of cycle time.

  • This paper proposes a case study to treat planning and scheduling in factory of supply chain. In fact, the planning and the scheduling of a factory are not easily solved because of constraints of facility resources, material requirements, allowed planning times, and so on. However many packages are developed by vendors in Advanced Planning and Scheduling(APS) aspects to solve these problems. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze problems of an electronic company and apply the tool, Factory Planner(FP), to solve problems. The FP, which was developed by if technologies, is very popular planning and scheduling tool in the world. Also, the tool is successfully applied to many fields.
